Agree, FSW. We badly miss a Milner/Hendo type to keep order and ensure everyone is on board and pulling their weight.
I can't help but feel that VVD is more worried about blaming everyone else rather than accepting responsibility himself sometimes. He seems far too relaxed.
I won't forget Milner grilling him when we let United score a year or two back!
I think Szob could make a good captain, despite his young age, he works his socks off and the rest should all follow his example. He's already captain of Hungary too!
We could do a lot worse than him!

Amid discussions about the departure of some staff members, I remembered there was a guy who appeared in all the "Inside Training" videos, and I found out his name is Jordan Fairclough.
He was a fitness coach under Klopp, stayed at the club alongside Slot, and decided to leave in February last season, with immediate effect, even though we were on the verge of winning the title.
In my opinion, he didn't like Peeters and Slot's training methods and intensity.

Problem is, FSW, VVD isn't exactly leading by example at the moment, and Ali is missing more and more game time. (Although he would be another good choice assuming he stays with us for another season or two).
I think Szobo could be a great captain...eventually, even if not straight away!

Szob is our star player, but don't think we should burden him as a captain too.
Wirtz bought in to replace, possibly push Szob away, and the form didn't happen, making Szob a captain might cause a little rift between the players.
Ideally, situation would be VVD one more year and Szob as captain when Robertson goes. But I don't think there is a 2nd in line captain after Szob as no one deserves it.

The next manager needs to sport high level leadership skills and discipline.
Alonso tried to kick the RM set up into shape and was met by large egos. At LFC, he would (will) have much more scope.

If we weren't in transition before, we definitely are now, and the chances of winning the league next season are very low, so whoever the manager is should be brave and rip off the plaster now. I'd let VVD go, great servant though he's been, and start over with a few CBs that have something to prove. I don't expect anyone to agree btw!

Yeah I agree with that Fsw, but at present Szob looks like one of only a few that gives a crap.
I'd much rather have a Hendo/Milner type, but don't see that type of character around the team presently, apart from Ali, who you mentioned.
I wouldn't want to burden Szob with it either, but Vvd, as one said above, has been great defensively for us over the years, but I don't think he's been a great captain.
I don't know what it is about him, I love what he's done in years gone by, but he just seems like he throws blame around on anyone but himself (although, quite often, to his credit, he is trying to cover Konate being crap as well).

Curtis would be as bad Vvd as captain, he shows nothing to say he's captain material. Ali or Szob are the only 2 that show anything.
