Reports tonight saying Diomande has verbally agreed a PSG move. Would be a bit gutted tbh - out of all the links so far he looked well suited.
Only saw him play around 5 times last season but looked a handful.

I trust Iraola to explain to Hughes what he needs. They will work well together, I'm sure. Iraola always speaks very highly of him.

I've read the same tabloid sites that the OP is referring to, and they say he has agreed to join either Liverpool or PSG. Depends who can get a deal over the line with RB Leipzig.

Considering the price, his age and experience that Barcola has at the top level, I'd say he's a good buy even if I'm not the biggest fan of the player. If he was 100m+, it would be an entirely different question altogether.
He is still young enough to improve, and you're not going to get a player with his experience and pedigree at the very top for that price.

If you trawl long enough, you'll find half a dozen outlets saying Diomande (or any player) is choosing PSG.
Search a little more and there's a half dozen more saying he's leaning towards Liverpool.
Search long enough and you can find anything you want - Elvis is alive and living on a Tongan island.

He knows PSG wins their league at Xmas every season, so are fresh as daisies for the UCL run in. Same with Kompany.

I recall one of the Eds mentioning that Salah was initially the fourth-choice option before joining Liverpool, which highlights how players with potential can flourish under the right circumstances. Similarly, there are several examples such as Barcola and Mane young wingers who, with the right coaching and development, could evolve into high-quality players. These individuals are all quite young and still have room to grow, much like Diomande, who also required time and guidance to reach the top level.
Barcola's end product could be better and with adequate coaching can be improved, something the coaches can work on, if he was to join.
