Now Gavi makes sense from Barca perspective. Pedri is too vital of a cogwheel in how Barca plays, so it was a left field rumour, truth be told.
And Gavi is considered surplus to Flick's squad, and would be considered Wirtz's competition for number 10.
Though Fermin Lopez would be a more creative and efficient 10 compared to Gavi.

Once upon a time I'd be getting massively excited at the mere prospect of getting Gavi, but maybe not today. We've been linked with him before, but he barely managed more than 10 La Liga games on 2 out of the last 3 seasons, and with Iraola's intense style, we need reliability.
Wharton still the dream for me, but I'm fully behind Iraola, and just hope he's backed with whoever he wants.

Welcome back Macca. I think this is the first time we've both posted the same info (re Gavi).
I'll recap for those who missed when I posted it before - Gavi would prefer to stay at Barca but not if his game time is gonna be limited by Rodri signing.
He's been taking English lessons for a year, loves the Premier League, and Anfield is his favourite ground to visit.

A lot of people say they want Wharton, but why? Don't think he offers what we need, isn't particularly strong, or super intense in terms of work rate, would, if suited Slot, but not convinced he makes sense for Iraola.
