Hi all,

Liverpool remain in pole position to sign Michael Olise this summer. The player feels his time at Bayern is naturally coming to a conclusion and is weighing his options in the event of a departure.

Extensive groundwork laid by ourselves has placed us high in his thinking as the natural successor to Salah.

08 Oct 2026 15:49:41
Let's get that private jet we used for mbappe fuelled up again.

08 Oct 2026 15:53:55
Thanks VG.

08 Oct 2026 16:58:43
Nice one VG.

08 Oct 2026 17:04:44
Until city, Chelsea, Madrid get a whiff of interest of him moving then we'll be looking elsewhere.

08 Oct 2026 17:24:08
What do you think will happen to Wirtz? unless he starts putting in some numbers and not just effort it could make sense to try make him part of the deal and go 433.

08 Oct 2026 17:50:50
We're about to possibly get Olise, and you want to talk about Wirtz. my word.

08 Oct 2026 18:34:40
Good news VG! That'd be a significant signing. Barcola Ekiteke Olise! The France forward line!

08 Oct 2026 19:13:35
Cheers VG, I noted that ITK space posted something similar last night and said we've fine some substantial groundwork but also that PSG and Real Madrid are interested. as were City but he's distanced himself from them and they walked away.

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

08 Oct 2026 20:26:57
Viva la France, if carries on like this we will have half the French team

Cheers vg.

08 Oct 2026 20:45:34
Thanks VG, I just have a bad feeling about this potential signing. I can't see it working out personally.

{Ed666's Note - Yes I can see how signing the best player on the planet gives you a bad feeling MOT. Good Lord I remember us signing the likes of Charlie Adam & Stewart Downing I never thought I’d see the day when Liverpool fans would complain about procuring one of the worlds premier soccer players.

08 Oct 2026 20:53:10
Is this not exactly what ITK/Bayern Space said?

{Ed666's Note - more than one ITK can have the same exclusive info no?

08 Oct 2026 22:15:30
He's great, but is his game suited to the hustle of the prem, which is becoming less popular with players because it is so physical?
Id rather have Minteh's graft.

08 Oct 2026 22:31:50
JLC, what's the issue? Bayern were dead set on Wirtz, apparently, they are still very keen. Obviously, a swap deal would be a valid option, especially if he continues to struggle. I completely agree with Letstalkabout6baby's post, if Wirtz can't assimilate within 2 years then he's not cut out for the league, ship him off while he still has some value to a keen buyer and reduce the cost of a fantastic signing, it's not just valid, it's the best option should his lack of form continue.

08 Oct 2026 22:41:23
Magic, are you saying City are a likely destination? More chance he goes to Everton.

08 Oct 2026 23:04:20
Minteh's graft sounds like a skin condition.

08 Oct 2026 23:33:59
Any man that believes Minteh is a better option than Olise doesn't watch the same game I watch, one of the most deluded statements I have ever read on here, I'm so glad you don't work for the clubs recruitment team.

09 Oct 2026 01:57:53
I like the idea that Olive is great but might not be suited to the PL. Either a player is great or he isn't. If he can't play in the PL then he isn't good, never mind great, imho.

09 Oct 2026 05:28:47
I hope you guys who say he may not be suited to EPL etc is aware that he played for Palace a few years before and was actually decent which earn him his move to Bayern.

He would be a nice replacement for Salah on the right. Hopefully we really see movement in the summer. With Real also sniffing around, I think it would not be easy.

09 Oct 2026 05:44:07
Exactly Bob, played great for Pslace, well suited to the prem, bags of pace, can score plenty too, better than Semenyo who I rate massively
This would be a Bobby dazzler signing but I imagine he will have other suitors.
Real maybe not, they now have the Roc Nation show in the squad, City have Semenyo who is excellent, Barca couldn't afford him, Arsenal have Saka so I think taking Salah place in our squad would be attractive to him.

Chelsea I would say might be our biggest rival (the next serial cheats)

09 Oct 2026 06:46:10
Any excuse or opportunity to beat Wirtz with a stick is becoming rather tiresome Chewy.

Whatever happened to giving players every opportunity to succeed?

If it doesn't work out, then so be it, but to have a go at him at any opportunity is pointless.

09 Oct 2026 07:38:35
This is about balance. Having too many skilful, vanilla players 'might' serve us well in the CL, although the Prem is another thing.
Minteh's work rate would create space and opportunities for the players we already have, who are yet to find their best form.
We've seen this kind of squad building at various times over the years, and it rarely ever works (unless dominating the CL is the aim).

Barcola, Wirtz and Isak may all be deemed flops within a year. There would be a reason for that. Does no one else see that potentially, these type of players do not fit into a side that is known to press from the front?

09 Oct 2026 08:01:13
Let's see if once again time proves his greatest aly.

09 Oct 2026 09:49:53
Isak is a bad decision signing TWD. Perhaps that already qualifies him as a flop?! Good striker when fit and firing but unfortunately it's rarely that he's fit and firing. I'd be selling him at the first opportunity I would get, at a big loss obviously, but I would purchase somebody reliable who is able to get on the bloody pitch regularly and put a few in the net.

We'll be lucky to see a dozen goals out of him in the PL this season or any season for that matter. Anyway just my opinion. I'm more concerned that Gakpo is not available for City rather than Isak.

09 Oct 2026 11:04:08
Cheers, VG.

While a wonderful player, I would prefer Minteh on the RW. That might sound ridiculous, but we are imbalanced enough as it is.

On Isak, I don't think we should catastrophise his injury at this moment. He has a thigh strain. That is all it is right now.

09 Oct 2026 12:07:41
How is speculating that a player who's struggled massively to find form in the PL may be a good option in a swap deal with a club who's keen on signing him "beating him with a stick"? Save you dramatics for a most suitable thread will you.

09 Oct 2026 12:55:16
The_thin_white_duke. Labelling Olise "vanilla" whilst arguing Minteh's case is hilarious, when one of them is the most creative player in his league and the other just runs back and forth all day to no avail, producing nothing.

I really do wish people would stop pretending every single goal-scoring opportunity comes directly from winning the ball back inside the final third, it's like a cult; we scored just 6 league goals from turnovers in 'advanced' positions during Klop's title-winning season.

Anybody who thinks Minteh is going to be more productive than Olise should stick to watching gameshows.

09 Oct 2026 12:38:59
I was going to make a joke, but Rigsby has rendered all others essentially redundant with that pearl.

I'd be very happy with Olise personally, but I'm curious about Ed001s position on him? I gather it is not overly favourable but if I may ask, why?

From where I'm sitting he has great pace and technique, a proper wand of a left foot. I can't say I've seen a huge amount of him at Bayern, only in the Champions League, but I saw a lot of him at Palace and was genuinely miffed that we weren't in for him when he moved to Bayern.

{Ed001's Note - he is lazy. They carry him when defending. You can't do that in the Prem.

09 Oct 2026 13:49:25
Salah was a good presser but poor at effectively tracking back, this was a warranted trade-off for Klopp, if you made Salah track back every time we lost the ball, you'd lose a huge amount of his effectiveness through the pace he provided in the counterattack. One of the keys to Salah's success was the speed at which we got the ball to him, giving him that extra advantage of catching defenders on the back foot, we saw what happened to him when we stopped doing that under Slot, with the slow progression, defenders were settled by the time he got the ball and he really struggled with taking on his man.

Not everybody needs to be an exceptional defender, so long as the manager knows how to get the best out of each player and how they fit the system, I think Olise is playing just how the manager wants him to, I don't see Kompany complaining. Personally I don't mind leaving the RB a little exposed if the trade-off is 40-odd goal contributions a season, Araujo's a big boy.

{Ed666's Note - Salah tracked back for Klopp it’s only when got much older he waned in that department

09 Oct 2026 14:15:36
Yeah he's better in a slower paced league. Not the prem.

09 Oct 2026 13:34:04
Thanks Ed001 that is my concern I don't think he is the right fit for us. I also think he is overrated and far from the best player on the world as ed666 states but each to their own.

09 Oct 2026 14:48:17
Pipedream am afraid. Olise currently earns around 300 000 € a week and Bayern are offering him north of 500 000 € a week to sign a new deal. Unless he is secretly a Liverpool fan he will probably never play for us.

09 Oct 2026 15:43:31
I think he may have bigger ambitions than an endless string of effortless Bundsliga title wins SlotsBarber, given he came up through the youth ranks in England, I would imagine that the Premier League title is very much on his agenda now, hopefully he isn't swayed by the money, only time will tell.

09 Oct 2026 16:05:59
Cheers Chewey ?.

09 Oct 2026 14:47:54
As soon as Ed speaks the wafflers pipe down.
Olise is not what we need, he is a Real player.
I would bet that Andoni would also prefer Minteh, or a similar player.
You need graft in this league, as peak Klopp LFC and Arsenal have proven.

09 Oct 2026 17:12:28
Waffle is claiming Iraola would prefer a player who managed 7 goal contributions last season over a player who got 53.

09 Oct 2026 17:15:20
Nonsense
Olise was very good and still learning in the prem, do good he got a move to a European giant.
He has been exceptional in the Bundesliga, ok agree it's not s strong as the prem.
He has been very good on the European stage too.
The guy is a baller man!!

09 Oct 2026 18:08:44
Minteh is a better option than Olise.....I've seen it all. When our attack still looks unthreatening because we signed Minteh, I will come back to this.
