Please somebody go to Andoni Iraola's house and check if he's tied up somewhere. It appears Arne has perfected his Iraola disguise and has taken control of the team again!

Joking (? ) aside, that was a Slot performance to a tee. Slow, ponderous, often wayward play with next to no press and a beach in the middle of the pitch, where Fulham had the deckchairs out enjoying the wide open air.

Still a lot of work to do it seems.

Think the relative silence on here shows the realisation among posters that it is going to be a long hard season. Take Champions League this year and be happy with that. Ireola is going to need at least this season to sort out a team putting in performances like that.

I've maintained that I've written the season off as we didn't do enough in the summer. The only good thing is we won't hear that crap about "but this midfield won the league" anymore after another indifferent season.

5 games, 2 wins 3 draws, first game after a midweek battle. It will take time for the fitness to come and things to click, but by Christmas we be ok and the gaffer will have a good idea about his players and tactics to suit.

I've written off this season as far as the two big trophies are concerned. The FA and Carabao cup are up for grabs for anyone. Champions league also HAS to be achieved. That is the least this club has to do.

100% right Scouse John. Can't believe so many people thought he would come in and we'd be playing champagne football from day one. We got a good result against a very good AM team on Wednesday. The players are still working on the fitness and for people to be losing their minds at the start of September is crazy.

As you say, let's start judging things in the new year. Loads of teams are in transition and will be in the same boat as us results wise.

That match couldve been an email. I don't envy ed001 having to watch that back and review the game. Gravenberch's lack of ability to pass the ball will probably have Ed pulling out whatever hair he has left.

Don't usually like to post straight after the game, but that was just as bad and probably worse than what we watched under Slot.
Awful performance and outplayed again at home by a team that hadn't got any points this season - until today.

It's simple really KBL, a number of the players just aren't good enough. Regardless of who coaches them that will remain the case. System wise we've improved from Arne's, but we're talking around the margins. The results in the league are piss poor, Iraola can't get away with draw after draw like he did at Bournemouth without questions being asked.

Absolutely shocking performance apart from Jacquet, Araujo and Kerkez when he came on, the rest of them were truly pathetic no urgency or fight in that team we have bought overpriced players and we just can't fit them into a working system, add to that our options off the bench are piss poor so the likes of Grav, slob and wirtz know their places aren't under threat because we don't have enough quality in the squad to make them worry.

Iraola has his work cut out this season with this bunch as I just don't see enough hunger and desire from this team at present, we were lucky to get a point so we now have 6 points from a possible 12 and still looking for our 1st home win in the league this season says it all really. Let's hope for better days to come than what we all watched today so so poor.

The squad is very poor for the money spent, we bought names and not players for a system! I really rate Wirtz as a technical player but he does not fit in this system and was the exact same issue last season. Individually we have good players but collectively on the pitch it doesn't work. I want to see a 3 man midfield of Macca, Szob and Gravenberch.

Up top I'd put wirtz on the left in the half space, Barcola out wide and Isak up top. Kerkez is miles ahead of Tzimikas and Araujo is a dead cert at RB. All I keep hearing is Wirtz is a 10, he has to play in the 10 but he plays all his best football for Germany and Leverkusen from the left half space. Time we stop ignoring the obvious and sort this midfield 3.

Macca will be carrying midfield until at least January. Macca was rested imo.
Dom should be tried out right. I'll keep repeating he's not an 8 and not a good enough passer to be in there. Passes it poorly a lot most game's. Concentration or what ever, it's not good enough and his wages are as obscene as gravs.
Dom is not a great midfielder. He can be a very good *player* but he's a lot to improve on if he's to stay in the centre going forward.

Poor game. Andoni tried to rotate but you need quality out wide.
I said how lucky both kerkez amd timikas were to wear the shirt. Kerkez can't play every game at what's demanded. He's certainly am improvement on timikas but kerkez has a lot to prove this season.
Andoni hasn't been given great cards and you can't work magic with the demands of the Premier League. The bench is extremely poor for certain positions.

If you think Dom's bad in the middle, what's he going to do out wide? He hasn't got the skill to take players on and break lines, not in the PL anyway. He also said in his interview the other day that the only position he really doesn't like to play is the 7, so not only does he not have the skillset to play out wide, but he doesn't even want to. Yes, technically he's played as a winger in other teams, but more as a hybrid AM than anything

Agreed on the lack of depth, serious lack of quality from the bench, but what's new?!

Sob is great at pressing and tracking back if need's be. He's also quality at crossing and shooting from the right. He should he tried on the right.
I don't care what he wants to be honest. He's not world class. He's just a very good player at best who got a nice fat new contract.

Dom as the most advanced of our three midfielders was one of the positions that least needed fixing in this team. Wirtz wasn't needed. We wanted the big name and we got him, when we would have been better off strengthening other areas of the side that needs reinforcing much more.

Absolutely rubbish. What a low quality, tactically disjointed, slow, boring, dull and lack of intensity performance. We are turning into a midfield table level team. Have we improved since Slot. No. Our midfield is so weak, no natural instincts to move ball forwards at pace. Can't cut up a basic defensive line like Fulham. Such a boring, mid table performance. Just nowhere near good enough to compete for the league.

The top 4 teams will demolish us. No buzz, excitement or toughness about us. Quite shambolic really. We needed a goal today, koumas and nyoni on bench, yet tzimicas, frimpong, grav and kerkez get game time. Oh sigh. Mediocre players give mediocre performances. We are mediocre. Honestly, has there been any progress since last season? This was a Slot performance.

It's a poor performance & a draw. . The way you're going on you'd think Fulham had beaten us 5-0.

If you guys don't think we should be beating Fulham, and expect that level of performance I'd question your ambition for the club. It's not just Fulham either we were poor against Forest, Newcastle and second half against Ipswich.

Fulham are a really poor team, and we probably deserved to lose not draw. We've been the highest grossing spenders in the last two transfer windows but play like a mid table outfit.

I went on Wednesday against A Madrid, and we played ok for much of the game but were far from great despite what some posters have said. It's been a poor start to the season, against some very average opponents.

Why would you pay multi millions for a forward and starve him of the ball?
For the anti Macalister he put more in 35 mins than Grave did while on pitch and we looked a lot better still poor but better than first half.


The two left backs are just not good enough.
The subs today very Slot like i thought signs of panic. We miss Hugo in the side I think we will be better later on in the season when AI gets to grips with the squad.

Andonis going to learn he can't rotate certain players. Timikas should have been moved on Long ago.
Dom is not a central midfielder. He either radically improves and loses the ego or should be put to the right. He's not a patch on Gerrard and I think the odd goal has gotten to his head, along with the inflated wages.

Vice captain, Deary me.
As for grav. His body language is poor and his overall game is limited.
I'd do everything to get in at least 1 top midfielder in January.

Bloody hell Ron go easy there pal, szboz Is the only one willing to fight, wirtz doesn't have no runners so has limited options, frimpong? How is a prem player? Grav is not a cdm n doesn't have discipline n is not good enough to be a 8 so either he becomes squad player or we cash in as he just doesn't have it in him to sit n protect defence, kerkez needs to improve massively in both directions, at present we are playing every game with two or three starters that are only good enough as squad players, would grav get into any top team from prem la liga.

I'd go with Chambers over Tsimikas any day. at least I'd find it easier to accept that kinda performance outa a local kid than a guy who spent last year on Roma's bench and is clearly not good enough.

Sorry ynwakopite mate but I have to agree with Ron Runk about Szboz, no doubting he was our best player last season but he's nowhere near and never will be in the same class as Stevie G. Unfortunately Szboz thinks he is a lot better than he actually is ( a good player not a great player) and until he realises this and starts to actually play like he did last season for the team we will see more weak performances like this on a regular basis.

Ron Gunk always there with personal attacks on our players. Szob might have had a bad game, but why attack him as a person?

These guys are not trying to lose. They may not be good enough to coast the league, but maybe support the team while they try?

Very poor first half I think it will be hard to be that bad in the second half.
Should be the last time Tsimikas plays for us nowhere near good enough for any Premier League team let alone a top 6 team.
Chambers Is better and should be ahead of Tsimikas.


Gravenberch showing again what a poor player he is, him and Szoboszlai do not work together.
4.5 months purple patch in 3 seasons Nyoni and McConnell would give us a more stable platform to build from than Gravenberch.
