Need to do a lot more than that. Forest aren't just going to roll over.

Very poor.

Forest beat West Ham on the 14th August remember. Or, they only lost 6-0 to City. No one can have any excuses for this dross we were served up today. Only Liverpool can beat City then West Ham but go and lose to bottom side Forest all in the space of a week. Embarrassing the lot of them!

You must be great to go to games with Flash. All that emotion you don’t show win, lose or draw.

Good job you only watch the highlights I suppose.

I remember pre season me and JK23 predicting a rough ride with no midfield signings.
But I never thought it would get this bad, That line up and bench today was just appalling.

22 Oct 2022 17:33:21
You're allowed to be disappointed but you're getting too emotional.
We lost, we were awful but calm yourselves down.
When I saw Jones, Elliott and Carvalho I thought it'd be one of those days when we'd just need a result. It didn't happen because the senior midfielder was terrible and Gomez looks short of confidence.
The squad is down to the bare bones and there's no point talking about players that we don't have.

14.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 17:37:40
Jones wants forever on the ball and gives it away too easily. They nickname Fabhino "The Lighthouse" - he seems as mobile as one.

15.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 17:38:14
I am disgusted by how unprofessional some of the players appear to be. Bottom of the league and don’t expect a battle? Less than clinical. Salah and Firmino were awful, their movement was lethargic again.

If we can only motivate ourselves against Man City, something is rotten. We weren’t that great against West Ham tbh but today we stank. Apart from James Milner and Harvey Elliott. Great performance young man, shame on the rest of you.

Maybe Robbo, at a push, tried. Oh and Alisson, always solid.

16.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 18:06:03
I thought C Jones did well in his first start, 2 nd appearance of the season, he protected the ball etc, there wasn’t enough ahead of him, meaning lack of movement and so on.

We had the chances to win the game, but we failed. on to Ajax to qualify for knockout stage.

Bajcetic, he is gaining valuable experience in and around the squad, so to is Fabio and wow re Harvey Elliot. the squad/ youngsters primarily will learn loads during this abject start to the season.

As made famous by Harry Enfield sketches, calm down.

{Ed025's Note - if you thought Curtis did well hogan you need to give your head a wobble mate. He took no responsibility with the ball and passed it back or sideways every time. I’m 64 and could have done the exact same job..

17.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 18:25:46
Why would that result ruin your weekend? If something you've absolutely no control over affects your mood that badly I'd suggest finding something else to do. Not a dig at anyone.

18.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 18:34:31
It wasn't a great performance from Elliott at all. Jones reminds me of Lallana and Carvalho looked out of his depth. I just don't know what is wrong with Fabinho but he is offering nothing, at the moment.
When your midfield is that weak, your centre halves look edgy and your front two were out of sorts, you are really up against it.
That side today is not finishing anywhere near top four. We need players back and to strengthen in January, hopefully.

19.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 18:40:52
Why can't we playe Nat Philips and call back William instead of Milner and Gomez?
Those boys rescued us from bad season 20/ 21.

22 Oct 2022 18:41:56
Tbh I hate this kit, looks horrendous and every time I’ve seen us in it we do horrendous as a team.

22 Oct 2022 18:47:26
Curtis mite not even be a prem player if we are honest still young but lad don't offer much.

22.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 18:31:30
He is a young player Ed025. There were a lot of senior players on that pitch that deserve criticism, I thought VVD’s performance was awful, as was Fabs. They should be the ones taking responsible. And no way are you 64? I thought you were 94.

{Ed025's Note - I’m pretty old Bobby…but not bloody ancient!! You’re right that the senior members could have done mate. An abject performance from most of them I’m afraid..

23.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 19:10:28
Ed0025 the big 64 mate. That means you’ve had the pleasure of witnessing your beloved Everton win like 40 odd games in your lifetime ?.

{Ed025's Note - a lot more than That JK. We were the best team in Europe in 85 mate.. but have gon down faster than a fat kid on a slide since.. ?

24.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 21:20:31
Elliot was the best player on the pitch, he played well. Milner and carvalho are probably the other 2 outfield players who can say they had ago. Jones to be fair had a go but it wasn’t his day. Not played much and did more of a job than Fabinho.
Too many of the experienced players not stepping up and it’s the young lads getting blamed by the fans, last week it was Trent, this week it’s Jones. We’re becoming a salty bunch and it really irks me.

25.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 23:10:31
Jones is nowhere near the quality required for this squad, he has been in and around the senior team the last few years and hasn’t kicked on, time to loan him out to a premiership team or move him on ( if we can find one) . Carvalho looks promising but again needs game time and bulking up, again would benefit from a loan after Xmas to get used to premiership physicality. We need to move on players that are no longer up for the fight, not regularly fit for selection or agin put. top of that list ox, Keita, jones, Philips, Matip, bobby and Milner. I know people will say that bobby and Milner have been good recently but our style of play with a high press is highly physical and there legs have gone which I think is hurting us badly of late, could argue that fab could be added to that list too…seems like a mass culling at once but in truth many of the above should have been moved on last summer.

I think we need to remember that there are people of all ages on here and also people in different places personally and how that effects their relationship with football or more specifically Liverpool.

When I was in my teens early 20's, liverpool results could effect my mood or my weekends. I didn't have a lot of money due to just getting on the work ladder and saving for a house so football was my escape. A loss would be taken personally.

As I have got older, and I have a little one, I have realised, for me personally, I can't effect the result or performance. So whilst I still enjoy and get riled up during the game, once the whistle goes I can detach and move on.

Not everyone has that relationship with the game which is fine, we just need to be mindful of how others perceive the game and the result.

Today was a shocker, we have had them in the past and we will have them again. Personally I think there are reasons we got what we got but they will be seen as excuses so I'll keep them to myself for now. To be clear there was no excuse for today it simply wasn't good enough but we were up against someone who wanted it more, that's football and why we love the game.

To finish, there is no league table on how good a fan is or how you should react. Bottom line is we all want to see Liverpool do well (even Walter! ) but we have different opinions and that's what makes the site what it is.

If we all thought the same life would be dull.

27.) 22 Oct 2022
22 Oct 2022 23:29:58
Being a young player isn’t an excuse if you’re 16, 26 or 36 in the first team you’re held to the exact same standard.

28.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 00:33:46
You make some good points, WYred.
I doubt any Liverpool fan was happy today but we were disgusting or humiliated?
We had at least five first team players unavailable, more rested and we haven't got the squad to take that.
I was disappointed with the result and the performance but I can see reasons for that.
The club isn't rotten and the club and these players have given me more good times than bad.

29.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 07:45:32
The players aren't the issue the system and build up play is. No movement, no creativity, no penetration. Any player getting pressed and receiving the ball to feet with his back to goal is going to struggle, let alone a young kid like Jones. He has potential, it just needs bringing out with a positive system and style of play that we seem to have just completely abandoned. The team looks like it doesn’t know what it should be doing and put that squarely and Klopp and Peps doors. They need to sort it out and quickly.

30.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 08:43:38
I know we have tumbs ups- but just thought I’d write it, that’s a good post wyred, articulated very well. Life’s journey will mean our relationship and dependency on LFC will fluctuate.

31.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 10:18:54
Nobody likes losing, but there aren't half spome drama queens on here.
Like a load of hormonal middle aged women.
WYred is spot on. Having kids and grandkids, watching family members suffer with cancer and dealing wih a disability kind of puts things into perspective. So pardon me if I don't have an emotional breakdown when we don't steamroll the opposition, or God forbid lose a game.
If that ruffles a few tear stained feathers it's just tough.
Man up and enjoy your Sunday.

32.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 10:27:58
I get the Jones bashing when he was in midfield, but when he was pushed up on the left-hand side I thought he looked pretty good.

33.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 10:41:13
Jones has literally just come back from injury. The boys put in a bad performance. But I'd like to see what the top team in the league would do without their equivalent of Nunez, Diaz, Jota, Thiago, Matip, Keita and having sold their version of Mane.

I'm tired of the "no depth" debate. Because it's a self-fulfilling prophecy to whatever point you're making.

34.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 12:32:30
In fairness Faith. It wouldn’t make a difference if Keita was fit as he’d offer absolutely nothing, slow, lazy, weak, poor decision making and just strolls around doing nothing. The fact we didn’t move him, ox and Jones on and replace them with more capable players looks an increasingly poor decision.

35.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 12:36:55
Spot on, Rigsby and Faith. Just Another contest about who can say the most obnoxious of things about the team cos they had the audacity to lose a game of football cos clearly, that has NEVER happened before. Pathetic.

We lost a game we were always going to struggle in due to an injury hit squad, one fit out and out striker in the squad in Salah and some poor decision making on the pitch and on the touch line and off the pitch. It happens. Take the L and move on. Be critical and disappointed BUT miss me with the name-calling contest. Peace.

36.) 23 Oct 2022
23 Oct 2022 13:43:57
Also whether Jones had just come back from injury or not isn’t relevant. He was fit to play.

The uncomfortable truth is that he’s probably not good enough to be a centre midfielder at a club who want to challenge for the title. He’s not kicked on and doesn’t look likely to either. He’s too ponderous in possession, doesn’t use the ball well, defensively he’s all over the place and he just seems to stroll around the pitch too casually.

Not doing anything about the midfield in terms of refreshing the personnel in terms of more robust players and someone capable or being able to cover Fabinho has cost us dearly this season. The results speak for themselves.

If this was a one off, like the defeat to Watford when we won the league, it could rightly be shrugged off, but this wasn’t the same context. We’ve been poor this season so far and is symptomatic of all the problems we’ve got, these are the games we need to be winning, we were outplayed and outfought by Forest. Pointing that out doesn’t make someone less of a supporter than someone who blindly supports everything unquestioningly.
