Jurgen in his presser today: "is the right moment to strengthen? I can't see it? "

Is he just being deliberately stubborn now to try to prove a point? I am genuinely at a loss as to what he is hoping to achieve.

Another loss and out of the fa cup his head will roll.

2.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 13:51:02
People expect him to call out the owners but that won’t ever happen. He is no Conte or Mourinho. He has no penny to spend which is why caceido is still at Brighton who ripped us to a new one the other day.
He has given sever hints already this season and in summer that he cannot spend like other clubs.
Klopp isn’t an idiot that he can’t see his midfield is getting destroyed week in and week out.

3.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 13:56:25
Nonsense, the same press conference:

"We look outside as well. It is not that we are stubborn [in the transfer market]; that is not how we see it. It is about what you can do. Each year is the same.

"If the solutions were out there, doable and available, of course we would buy players".

Let's stop with this 'poor Jurgen, he doesn't have a penny' nonsense.

4.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 13:53:42
"Roll" where?

5.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:03:57
Nonsense Jay.

6.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:05:02
And let’s stop with the ooohh I’ll take that little snippet of a quote and ignore the rest of what he said.

7.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:08:19
Do you really think he would call out FSG and create havoc?

There's a reason we are being sold.

8.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:09:52
Yeah I've criticised FSG plenty before but he was given £40 million to spend this month. He chose to spend it on a lad who will start for the next two months, ahead of a lad who could start for the next 5 years.

9.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:17:06
Do you work for sly sports mate with a post like that?

Really poor soundbite that.

10.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:25:59
Kloppers, you mean like a handful of posters have been doing on here for the last few weeks and like the OP just did? Do you really think a multi-billion dollar organisation who's objective is to win football matches has absolutely zero monies to spend, or is it maybe because it is a January transfer window that is known to be difficult to recruit players at sensible prices?

11.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:29:34
If you have no money to strengthen then I suppose Jurgen is doing the right thing in backing his boys to bounce back
after all it sounds like he has no choice
I agree gapko deal should have been a midfielder instead, although it sounds like it was quickly done to avoid our rivals snapping him up although with no engine in the midfield it all falls apart up front and in defence anyway.

12.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:29:43
Jurgen is playing the game. He is part of the machine. FSG will not allow a good rogering to occur, as Moores and Parry did on almost every deal.
It won't be schlong until the spendthrift narrative is a thing of the past, replaced by a new and even bigger problem (for some) .

13.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:30:51
I ain’t watching this presser. After seeing him a broken Man other day I’m going to stay away from it ??‍♂️
We’re truly a mess.

14.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:32:22
In fairness thom, we were threadbare in attack too with Jota, Diaz, Firmino and now Nunes out injured.

As for the FA Cup game, Klopp isn’t getting sacked whatever the result. he has far too much credit in the bank for that.

15.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:43:19
He s just got a tonne more information than all of us on the long term view of the club, player availability, club finance etc.

It may be we have to wait to the summer to get the right options. January can be a tough market.

Put it this way, do you want Mckennie and amrabat now or Bellingham and Caicedo in the summer. Not saying anything like this in terms of the options on the table but klopp might know there's a good chance he can get x and y in the summer so he doesn't want to overpay now and take up squad places on players he doesn't particularly fancy and might not be able to shift on later.

Also klopp spoke about changing things, being more compact, going back to basics, all of it. Seriously, there's not a single person here mentioning something that klopp doesn't already.

I laugh honestly when people talk about formation changes etc. Klopp knows 1 million times more than you but it takes time. It's not like there's any formation that will solve all our problems. There's many many tactical things that need to be coached.

So like I said before, just let the legend do his work and support him . He truly has earned our support in this time.

16.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 14:56:10
There might be no one available this month.
He's not doing this to upset you.
I promise.

17.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 15:07:43
Would you prefer it if I wrote a transcript of the entire press conference next time?

18.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 15:18:01
Its not good watching right now, but my honest opinion is let's see when the windows shut, twitter was full of rumours about new owners last night, today the echo seem to think nothings doing, nobody really knows just like half the transfers we've previously done.
Now I'm not a patient man and I'm a ranter at the best of times but the truth will out with this come next month, no players in the window then we can comment more clearly, no new owner news in Feb like the rumour mill reported then we know its more twitter nonsense.
This last fortnight alone on twitter we've signed 18 midfielders and replaced Klopp twice, its hard work but I'm trying to stay sane till Feb, pass me the Rum, I might need it!

19.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 15:58:43
"His head will roll" Utter tosh, Jay. You are prone to a touch of hyperbole, mate.

Do you genuinely think Klopp will get sacked if we lose tomorrow? As is often said on here, give your head a wobble.

20.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 16:00:09
Well said davey lad.

21.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 16:02:25
In all his years at LFC, my sense is that Klopp's position and work has been deeply appreciated and lauded almost unanimously, by the fanbase. He's had a virtual suit of armour around him that protected him against any type of criticism. In my opinion, that's been wholly deserved.

If there are chinks appearing now and scattered voices of disapproval, one of the reasons may be because of what Kenco mentioned above. Buying Gakpo because someone else wanted to buy him and LFC swooped in? By itself it's not much of anything, but when you think the same thing happened with Diaz last January, then your ears suddenly perk up and you say "hey, what's going on? Other teams have been buying midfielders right, left and center the past two seasons, why haven't we swooped in and stolen a midfielder before someone else does? " (I don't buy the premise that Bellingham is the only "right" midfielder out there for us. Nor was Tchouameni the only one either, last season) . And then you wonder who's really in charge and making these kind of decisions?

Something has to give, to get this going right again. A midfielder or two is not going to do it, either. I have no ideas (because I don't know what's really going on inside the club), I'm just a supporter and don't pretend that I can tell Klopp what to do.

22.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 16:28:29
Thom43, and how the football do you know he was given only 40m to spend this season? Cos he signed a player that was available that he already wanted to sign in the summer in Gakpo? Please, provide the source so we can actually have a serious debate. I'll wait.

23.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 16:29:44
Have to say apologies thom43.

I re-watched the press conference and while I took the whole message of what he was saying, he did actually say what you stated. I also see some media have picked up on that sentence too. Maybe you do work for sly sports?️‍♂️

However, the overall message was that we can’t just magic the right player at the right price.

?.

24.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 16:51:45
Not a chance we bought Diaz and gakpo to stop rival’s buying him. We may of jumped in 6 months earlier as the players getting there heads turned. I think Diaz nunez and gakpo is the front 3 sorted now. Mo and Bobby be fazed out nothing but a memory end of next season.

25.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 18:10:40
Why will Gakpo only start for the next months and who is the midfielder that will start for the next five years?
Caceido? What if he doesn't want to come? What if Brighton don't want to sell? What if Brighton ask for silly money?
We can't just buy players because we want or need them.

26.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 18:32:26
Just to add, in the press conference before eight at the end…

“ If a player is recommended ( or something like that ) then we will do it”

Klopp clearly has money to spend.

27.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 18:36:45
Or any price.
Just putting it out there but we've had all season upto now to try and sort this team out BUT nothing is working. Long hard slog to end of season with this bunch. All midfield is shot, gone from 1 of the best to 1 of the worst i've seen and add vvd to that too. He just isn't the same after his injury and definitely on the decline
Tougher times ahead I feel still. Done with this season now. we move on, hopefully with new owners and more importantly Jurgen Klopp.

28.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 18:54:56
“We can't just buy players because we want or need them”

So what are the reasons to sign a footballer. My god!

29.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 19:55:43
Last season marked the end of one era, and all that can be milked out of this group of players . Klopp will relish rebuilding the next episode (imo), since he has not done that before .
Brighton are pushing for Europe, and the Bloom tax on Caicedo may simply not be worth overpaying in this window .
That doesn't mean that he won't join, and maybe this season is already a write off.
Real will steamroll us unless something changes, and then its a scrap for the Europa, or an acceptance that a season without Europe is best for all.

30.) 16 Jan 2023
16 Jan 2023 22:14:19
Post of the month Davey. You should be posting more often mate.
