I really cherish the fact that we can compreheively lose at Stamford Bridge and keep partying on in the away end. These are the days everyone dreams about.
05 May 2025 06:59:46
I don't like the idea of losing any match for that matter. The whole "we are lucky champions" gets more louder.
05 May 2025 07:41:22
Sort of puts into perspective why Slot hasn't rotated more bar maybe Endo. None of the fringe players done themselves any good when given the chance. Elliott, Jones, Quansah, Nunez, Jota and Tsimikis are not and never will be liverpool standard player's. Big summer awaits.
05 May 2025 07:42:45
Not good for the other top 4 contenders. Slot set the midfield up all wrong we were far too open.
05 May 2025 08:27:32
Nick1994, I see your point and to be fair, I loved the fact that the away fans were brilliant and partying all game long. That being said, I don't like losing esp. to that bunch at the Shed so a bit disappointed partly.
Like ark said, we were a bit too open in midfield and we got cauht cold for the first goal becos of that hence, we were behind the 8 ball too early before we got a foot hold in the game. On the other hand, I think the boys hung in there despite a disjointed performance which is understandable due to a lack of rhythm with the players picked and even with that, we could have gotten a draw at least at 2 nil down, IMO. It is what it is, man.
05 May 2025 08:38:12
Yesterday proved nothing, seasons done.
If you want indication that some of these players aren’t good enough look at Plymouth away.
When it mattered they weren’t good enough, that’s why they had no game time, that’s why a lot of them will be replaced.
05 May 2025 08:41:51
It wasn't a serious team though really, was it guys. Nunez, Chiesa, Tsimikas, Endo and Jota are all probably going to move on this summer. Elliott and Quansah might even go as well, even if it's only on loan.
We already knew before yesterday that we need to completely revamp our striking options, sign a starting left back, get a midfielder in the mould Slot actually wants and probably sign a new RB and CB to replace likely departures. The depth just isn't there hence why Slot hasn't rotated much.
Some exciting rumours coming out this morning that Diaz might be offered a new deal. He's had his best season in a Liverpool shirt and he's definitely not a player we need to rush out to replace if decides he wants to stay.
05 May 2025 08:56:58
Apparently slot got pelters for not rotating and its baffling people are now saying the depth isn't there. Make up your mind.
05 May 2025 09:01:34
Rotating doesn't mean switching out half your team, house of cards.
05 May 2025 09:08:50
lets be precise then, Our midfield gave them a guard of honor. I am not convinced about any one of those midfield players.
05 May 2025 09:12:48
Hopefully those who have been calling for Chiesa to start games can see from yesterday's appearance that he still isn't ready. He's not used to such a fast paced game and he is too weak. It will take him a long time to adapt, not helped by the injuries this season.
05 May 2025 09:13:48
I agree Patrik - Elliott, Jones and Endo are useful squad players
You could see Endo sitting in for Grav the odd game or so with Mac and Szobs and see no real drop
Jones could play instead of Mac and with Grav and Szobs, again, we would see no real drop
Elliott too could sub in for Szobs and with Mac and Grav behind him, te midfield should be grand
But replacing your entire 1st choice midfield isn't exactly the rotation fans have asked about is it - rotating one out a game here and there, or a few games here and there could have helped more
Perhaps though Slot simply wants to see the calibre of player he has - could be an interesting transfer window coming up.

Just because we’ve won the league doesn’t mean we pack in. The club owes it to the fans and the integrity of the game in general to play to the best of our abilities. Us signing off for the season could impact clubs trying to secure a Duropean spot for next season. We are talking about multi-million amounts and us not putting the effort in leads us open to abuse and, possibly, investigation.
05 May 2025 09:23:52
Do we really need to be precise? Any top team can switch out their entire midfield and three other players and look as disjointed as us, hardly a reason to say that those players aren't good enough. Quansah I think just doesn't look half the player that he was last season, the others I would not judge based on last night, Endo in particular was brilliant and shows that he deserves to stay as a valuable member of the squad. He is so much better on the ball than people on here give him credit for, too.
{Ed025's Note - i think "brilliant"is going a bit far myself PB...he was ok..
05 May 2025 09:24:27
I agree with WDW. we just gave chelsea a lifeline back into the CL qualificaiton places meaning they will target the players we are linked to. Hjulsen, Osmihen and many more.
05 May 2025 09:35:13
House of Cards, they're not the same posters quite clearly. Use your brain lad. I've backed Slot's decision not to rotate much this season and I even took pelters from other posters for criticising the rotation decisions against Plymouth. Play your best team. if they get tired, my opinion is you should make substitutions earlier. But to do that, you need players on the bench you trust to carry out the tactical requirements without a monumental drop off in quality.
I was a big believer that this squad was good enough at the start of the season and I feel vindicated in that opinion given we've won the Premier league title. Now the dust is settling on the title celebrations though, it's time to think about what is needed for the next step; challenging on multiple fronts. In my opinion that is 6 players if Trent leaves; a RB, CB, LB, CM and ST x2.
05 May 2025 09:36:42
There is a massive difference between introducing one midfielder into a settled side compared to changing the whole midfield for players who haven’t been getting much game time. In addition the manager then sets them up to get pulled apart. At least play Jones and Endo together to form some sort of base especially away at the bridge.
05 May 2025 09:49:50
I agree MK in an ideal world adding 6 players with Diaz and Konate staying. Hopefully we can get a couple of players who can play in different positions as I don’t have faith that the owners would provide the necessary funds for that many incomings.
05 May 2025 09:53:29
If huijsen and osimhen want to go to Chelsea over us with all that we can offer in terms of being a serious team with a serious fan base and a serious coach with tactics that don't involve boring everyone in the stands to death, then let them, we shouldn't lose any sleep over it. Everybody knows that in this league if your intensity drops by one or two percent it makes a massive difference, and our players have given everything this year. The players and coach aren't allowed to have an off day after winning the league, they should be on it every second? I think you should relax and have a word with yourself honestly.
05 May 2025 09:53:53
I think it was a good decision to rotate players and have a proper look at them for the last few games. Out of all the changes I think Endo and Quansah did well. I was and have been disappointed with Jones and Elliott for large periods of this season and had hoped they could kick on and challenge more for the starting 11.
Jones has great qualities, is technically quiet good and has good composure on the ball however his decision making is very questionable and does not appear to have improved over the last number of years. Will frequently hold onto the ball for way too long, get caught in possession or pick a negative pass when a easier and more effective option is available, can appear a little like football arrogance or over confidence, has been mentioned by both Slot and Klopp as an area to improve and I think he will be given the time to do that next season as Slot appears to trust putting Jones in when needed.
Elliott, a bit of a conundrum, really likeable player who has some great flashes of brilliance but gets lost when playing from the start of a game! Gives off shaqiri vibes at times. I’m not sure if Elliott has the physicality for our team, puts in a hell of an effort when on the pitch but often appears 5 yards off the pace when pressing or getting into position. I think a move away may be best for all as I don’t see him becoming a regular under Slot .
{Ed025's Note - i must have been watching a different game Dow-ney, i thought Quansah was shocking mate..
05 May 2025 09:57:19
You missed the point MKS, Majority of the posters rated our subs very high. not just as a team but individually they were on par with some of the best in the league. Slot was getting pelters every week on why these weren't starting at all.
Its hillarious how much slot doesn't rate his subs at all. ain't it? I can see slot going back to his preferred midfied for the rest of the season. honestly he wouldn't want to lose against Arsenal next week.
05 May 2025 10:08:14
What are Jones great qualities @Dow-ney. If he wasnt a local he would have gone ages back.
05 May 2025 10:29:42
I think everyone just needs to calm down. This was always going to be a funny game as Chelsea are highly motivated to get top 5 and we have just had all the pressure taken off after wrapping up the league.
It was inevitable that the players were going to take the foot off the gas, concentration would not be as high and heavy rotation of players was predicted.
We already know which players Slot sees as first choice as they are the ones that have played most games this season. So I don’t know what we’ve learned really yesterday as it was already obvious?
Jota, Elliot, Nunez and co have had some moments this season where they have come up with goals and they deserve their premier league winners medals. But the reality is they might be sold this summer as Slot doesn’t fancy them as regular first time players based on his selections this season.
Fans were great yesterday btw in the away end, loved all the singing and partying.
We are the CHAMPIONS.
We have been light years ahead of Chelsea this season. All of a sudden our team is terrible and all need to be sold and they have a team of superstars if you believe social media.
Perspective - we played a B team and we were coasting through the game. You can’t do that in the prem and expect to win.
Slot won’t want to finish the season limping through the final games so I’m sure we will get a response next week but can we not allow this team an off-day after a long season and celebrating winning the league? Is that not allowed?
I feel like social media has meant that you have to smash every team 4-0 every week and get 100 points in a season otherwise you’re ****. They are human beings - have they been celebrating? Yes. Will they have been taking it easier in training this week? Yes. Will they have been as focussed for the game today? Most likely not. They’re not robots. Let them have an off day.
05 May 2025 11:05:28
Don't get me wrong OliRed I hate losing to them too, winning at Stamford Bridge used to come second to winning at Old Trafford. But I can't understate enough what a novelty it is to lose at Stamford Bridge and still laugh away with the bragging rights, it felt like the big brother letting the little brother win an unimportant battle. I thought it was hilarious.
I don't want them dishing that out against Arsenal this week but I can enjoy the one off.
05 May 2025 11:36:06
Nick, I totally get it, mate. Look, we can be disappointed about the reult some player perfs. etc. BUT I had to love the away fans conduct all game long. It was like dancing on the heads of these Chelsea fans who were trying to mock Gerrard with their pathetic Gerrard song and our guys would just respond with our victory songs or just chant "Champions" over and over again. It was some exceptional shade being thrown out on to this lot. And like you, I was there for All of that smoke, lol.
