Very worried about Ornstein, Joyce and Pearce all mentioning that re-signing Salah and van Dijk is already a big summer and cost the club a lot of the Transfer budget. I just can't believe it, better forget 5 or 6 signings and players other clubs want without buyout clauses. Its going to be another Joke tranfer Window i promise you this. We won the league so that's good enough not to do much in their Eyes.

But seriously, not adressing the squads shortcomings will end very badly. We have to strenthgen NOW not if we finish 5th next season. Its quiet frankly shocking if true, I know its true they're the clubs mouthpieces.

BS - we made decent $s available for Lavia, Caicedo and Zubimendi. We was also in for Yoro until he demanded first team football. And that is all we know about.
I hate this FSG bashing, if it was not for Man City we would be laughing with more trophies.

I suspect a lot of these stories are to downplay expectations. Recently, there has been a lot of talk of the business we are going to do, the profile of player we are going to sign, and it makes it sound like Liverpool are going to go heavy in the transfer market. Telling other clubs we are going to spend heavy, especially after our league success, puts us on the backburner. It tells clubs we have money, and they can squeeze as much out of us as possible.
By telling people, we will only sign what is necessary, the contracts took a lot out of us, it means we will only sign the essentials. By telling people we will not go beyond valuations, means if teams take the p. and try to extract more from us, we will walk away and look for alternative solutions.
That is my belief anyway. I fully expect us to make 3+ signings, as there are a number of areas in need of reinforcement, both in starting and depth. However, to come out and say this would mean teams know we are desperate for signings.
Hopefully not me being naive.

I anticipate us spending quite a bit but also bringing in quite a bit from sales also.
Looking at other clubs in the league many don’t have players to sell for a decent valuation where as we have quite a few who don’t regularly start games.

There is no way we don't enter the market for at least a few players. We already know the likes of Kellacher, a LB and at least one of our forwards will go, probably a few more fringe players, so even if we don't increase the bodies in the squad, those players who got minutes last season who leave will be replaced.
Still a month til the transfer window opens, and it feels like some people have already taken their eye off of the fact that we're champions!

I don’t think That’s the problem going into the new season though, I believe the major worry is Slot clearly doesn’t fancy some of these players.
Elliot, Nunez, Endo, Quansah, Chiesa etc
If slot doesn’t want them / doesn’t really want to use them, they should be moved on and replaced.
We need players who will play! Can Hughes deliver is one question? Can he do it with no money is another?

I think like Flypelican said we haven't got a huge warchest, some of it will come from player sales rather than full on spending the club money. All this FSG bashing I find rather embarrassing, they spend within the clubs means, I'd rather that, than be where Man United are.

In the end it's all a game. Optics of having money from prizes, new investment, big sales or stellar commercial deals will naturally drive negotiations with agents and clubs on transfer fees, bonuses and salaries.
We could easily spend 350m this summer. Likewise, we could easily recoup 300m too.

Why are you going so worked up over nothing? Of course it would have cost money to re-sign VVD and Salah. We could have let them leave for free if you prefer?
