Can I ask Ed's and posters about isak?
I thought it was just fantasy about us getting him now some posters are talking like we are preparing to approach Newcastle.
Are we actively moving for isak has he said he wants to move have I missed something lol
I'm not sure what to think tbh.
Any concrete clarification would be much appreciated thank you.
{Ed001's Note - Newcastle need to sign a replacement for him and Wilson, if they can do that, they will be willing to sell.}

Really, Ed? I can see that but don't you think Isak has to make a case for the move himself to push the envelope if he really wants to go? Or is that self-explanatory?
{Ed001's Note - he has already made it plain he would like to move but won't force his way out.}

Am in the gang that doesn’t quite fancy Isak.

Ed, if that’s the case, we can give them Jota, buy them J. Pedro from Brighton and do a bank transfer for £80-90 mil. Do you think that would do it mate? ?.

He will need to learn the Scouser accent first, so that he is prepared for his unveiling.

How can anyone not quite fancy Isak? He’s a class act and could play for any team in the world. He’s Premier League proven to boot.
I understand people thinking he might be unattainable because it will be difficult to force Newcastle to sell their best player but to say you don’t quite fancy him is just crazy to me.
If we are looking for a striker to improve us then he is by far the best option. You could argue that we don’t need an out and out striker as Mo scores more than enough with others chipping in but if we’re buying one Isak is a no brainer.

Milan Baros, I think they'd demand at least £130m. Jota probably not worth more than 25m with his injuries.

Thank you ed001
I was 100% expecting to be brought back down to earth, but you have made it more exiting now especially considering how hard Newcastle are pushing for pedro.

Can we offer them Nunez as part ex?

Thanks, Ed01.

Something Red, we're trying to lower the cost of getting Isak, not raise it ;)
{Ed077's Note - ??? Indeed

That was funny, Dracred.

Isak is Deadly, if we can get him. Then it’s completely over for everyone else.
18 Jun 2025 16:29:40
Can't we ask Isak to run down his contract and sign him for free. It seems that is the way forward now with some teams.

There is a scenario where we offer players as part of the deal and someone like Jota would serve to fill the Wilson hole.
However, we as posters do seem to accept values other teams place on their players whilst under-valuing our own players.
We put a premium on "premier league proven" and yet don't apply that same premium on our players - Jota, for example, has had 9 seasons in the EPL vs Isak's 3 and Jota has scored 47 goals for us in 123 EPL matches.
Also, Harvey Elliot and Jarrell Quansah (2 of the players on their list) are both HG.
If we're accepting £130m as a valuation for Isak, we need to be looking at £40m for Jota, £40m for Elliot and £30m for Quansah. I mean Brighton are looking at £60m for Pedro!
So, although I would see separate deals (rather than player + cash) with add ons etc, I could see Newcastle ending up with, say, Jota, Quansah and £60m for Isak, with that £60m buying Pedro.
Just my view though, so let's see a) whether this can happen and b) where Hughes et al can get the values to!
{Ed077's Note - as Ed002 would say, just forget about the money. Let the clubs take care of that.

Isak has missed 39 games or 206 days since the start of the 22/ 23 season when he started at NUFC: 9 games last season (43 days), though one was a broken toe, not muscle related.
Jota has missed 72 games (324 days) in the same time.
61 days or 18 games last season.
{Ed077's Note - how many separate injuries ?
18 Jun 2025 22:57:18
6 separate injuries for Isak 5 of which were muscle/ strains etc; 7 for Jota whose were all muscle/ ligaments.
