I think we need to keep Diaz.
The amount of defending he did on the left side was far more than the amount Salah does on the right side.
If we can improve Konate's contract, why can LFC not improve Diaz's contract to reflect his performance last season where he netted so many goals?
We all know that it is going to cost more in terms of salary to pay the player who is going to replace Diaz, so why not pay him? If Sarah's performance has not decreased, why assume Diaz's will decrease?
Renew his contract and we have stability. Changes are good to improve the team. However too many changes is not good as it puts more and more pressure on the team.
If Diaz's performance decreases over the next year, we can surely find a buyer.
Treating a player like this, who is also a human being, is not good for team morale.
Give him a new 5 year contract, this saves us the money to replace him until we find a good replacement, then we can sell him next year. At least we will not disturb the stability in the team and he knows how to score goals.
Being 28 years old is not too old in his position.
When he is gone, the you will realise how much he contributed defensively and still managed so many goals
Thanks.

The thing though is that he wants to leave. He's not being forced out and if a player wants to leave they generally go. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a really good player but he's made his decision so it's up to the club now to get the most amount of money possible for him.

All valid points however, all have no substance if the player wants to leave, which apparently Diaz wants to do.

I think it’s fairly nailed on that Diaz will be leaving this summer now if Bayern stump up a few more million.
I really like Diaz and would have loved him to stay. However it feels inevitable now and I’ve come round to the idea that it might be mutually beneficial for us and the player to part ways if we can get a decent fee in.

There's no point in keeping a player who wants out.

Kit, if we were to sign Isak, we would have Gakpo, Ekitike, Isak, Salah and Wirtz, all covering the forward positions, Diaz would be surplus to requirements, in my opinion. Added to the fact, from what we hear, he wants out, why would we keep him? Plus, he's probably our most sellable asset.

Agreed in Diaz as a player but seems he wants to go, so laterzzzz.

Gakpo is a better player than Diaz and will start ahead of him on the left. Diaz only played so much last season because Gakpo got injured and we didn't have a reliable number 9. Combine that with the fact that he wants to leave, his entourage has been trying to engineer a move for several years and he is probably at his peak value right now means that it makes sense to sell him especially if it is required to fund the move for Isak.
I like the guy, I think he is a good player and I would not be upset if he did end up staying, but from a business point of view it makes sense to move him on.

Great player but not as good as Gakpo for me. We need to get better at moving on out players while they still have great value but are not guaranteed first teamers or world beaters. The only indispensable players in our squad for me are Salah, Virgil, Macca and Ali. I am sure Wirtz and maybe Isak will be added to that list but literally everyone else in the squad has a price in my view, and as above if someone wants to leave then let them.

Never truly replaced Mane. We wish him well and thank him for a few great years and replace him quite easily.
It was his best season in a red shirt last season so we’ll all have good memories of him and his elite song.
