I think its madness that gravenberch is our only defensive midfielder of real quality and we don't have adequate replacements, we can say throw endo, mcallister, jones, szbozlai there but when gravenberch is not there we look unbalanced and easy to play through, seeing as elliot has been a midfielder for us it would be comforting to replace him with a dependable DM.

Viktor yes I agree my only worry is injuries and I don't feel he is rated enough by the management, next natural replacement is endo and he just hasn't got the quality we need to win a league and champions league.

We won the league last year with endo as backup dm mate.
I don't even feel Grav a defensive midfielder, its not how Slot sets us up and so far Slot has been great so let's trust him!

Finally people talking about how the Goals came. Instead of blaming the last defender. Someone should have stopped Semeyeno’s run. Prime Fabinho does it.

@Harry that's also if Fabinho had stayed back to stop the attack. If I'm not wrong, we had a cdm on the pitch at the time in Endo but he was up the pitch supporting the attack. Who's the say that Fabinho wouldn't be in the same position as Endo? Would he still have been able to stop the attack from there too?
Imo, Konate was at fault for that goal. He had his back to Semenyo when he could have stood him up. That was poor defending from him.

I think its madness that our midfield was getting bullied by inferior teams and is exactly the same as last season and will get identified and bullied this season by certain teams.

Disagree @Dracred. Semenyo ran the whole length of the pitch and it was Konate who should have stopped him near the 6 yard box.
Prime Fabinho was one the greatest DM ever to play for us.

Was our midfield getting bullied? Bournemouth scored both goals in transition, it had nothing to do with our midfield getting bullied.

I said it about the same about the midfield last season and I still think the same. But we won the League by ten points and had the second best defensive record in the League.
I thought we needed more guile and goals from midfield in the 19/ 20 season but when we won the League by eighteen points and were the second highest scorers.
There will be times when I can smugly say 'I told you' but I'm too worried about us at the moment.

West derby time doesn't stand still and just cos we done it last season are you naive enough to think that will lead us to glory this season, I sincerely hope it does but other teams have got better.

Nobody said time stood still. Coming into the window the first requirement we had was to replace Trent, which we did. Jota’s tragic death meant that, particularly with Nunez not living up to expectation, we need Pedro at least one, preferably two CF’s - we have Ekitike and, apparently Isak.
Everything else has been updates based on the coaching staff’s assessment based on what they saw last season. It would seem that they don’t share your view. For what it’s worth, in my opinion, Gravv is only going to get better and Endo is an excellent professional with a great work ethic. Not a world beater but he is what it says on the tin and he is an excellent squad back-up option. so our options at DCM are actually capable of improvement and I think your view that we are standing still whilst everybody else is moving forward apian’t necessarily true.
