I'm seeing a lot of chatter about Konate U-turning and wanting to sign a new contract with us. Seems strange. I can only assume that Real have watched his performances so far this season and let him down gently.

02 Oct 2025 16:39:41
Are RM really interested in him, concretely?

02 Oct 2025 17:56:49
Sign him up so we don't lose millions. then sell him the next year if he doesn't drastically improve.

02 Oct 2025 18:53:32
I thought this was a possibility. I think Madrid are making a smart decision if that's the case.

02 Oct 2025 19:47:22
If they don't want Konate, they will go all out for Guehi. That might not be good news for us.

02 Oct 2025 20:18:45
He is capable of mistake but when he’s on it he’s great. Can’t judge anyone so far they all been hit and miss, but let’s not downright lie and say he’s crap. I wouldn’t mind if he stayed.

02 Oct 2025 21:42:45
@Oli, today’s special award for usage of ‘concretely”, mate. Is that a really word?

02 Oct 2025 21:58:30
Not really Elliott there are better centre backs out there than Guehi, particularly in our setup.

If we can get him on the cheap or on a free he’s a good squad option and might make the step up. If not then we’ll sign someone else who’s probably better.

03 Oct 2025 01:07:17
I hope Konate turns as quickly off the pitch as he does on it.

03 Oct 2025 01:18:22
He’s not exactly playing like a player who wants a new contract.

03 Oct 2025 01:47:10
We can't just buy the best player in every position. If we did, would they still be the best player in that position. I've not seen much of Guehi but I take a chance on him instead of Konate. I've never rated Konate. He's a big, athletic lump with little sense about the game he is playing.

I can confirm that 'concretely' is a real word. I'm in a WhatsApp group with Suzie Dent, Rachel Riley and Giles Dandruff and they all
confirmed that it is a word.
I can't imagine any of them ever using it, though.

03 Oct 2025 07:04:11
According to the Oxford dictionary that I have lying around, concretely is indeed a real word.

03 Oct 2025 07:40:26
Well I’ll be hornswoggled. You learn something new everyday ?.

03 Oct 2025 09:39:06
And you get the "special award" for "open mouth, insert foot, and enjoy it".

03 Oct 2025 09:54:45
Indeed, WDW. It is a real word. In fact, it also exists in French, where I learned that version of the word as in "Concretement", lol.

Btw, never doubt my English language skills. It will be your worst mistake, ever. LOL!

03 Oct 2025 10:38:32
@ArAy, why do you think I asked if it was real word? Can. I ask who you were quoting with the “special award” or are you just not bright enough to understand quotation marks and their correct usage?

03 Oct 2025 11:42:28
Don't act and write like a dunce, WDW. Read what YOU wrote to Olired and see who used the "special award" phrase. You get away with getting personal with people right, left and center, and targetting specific people all the time, as if your words are Gospel. Get real bud. I don't sit around and stare when that happens. Is it still stinging?

03 Oct 2025 12:03:32
Might be a case of Konate trying to sell high while his stocks fall after every missed pass, defensive mistake ?.

03 Oct 2025 11:51:45
@Oli, am I correct in thinking you live in Belgium or Holland? I lived in Leiden for a couple of years and we took a trip down to Antwerp one weekend and we were having lunch in a cafe and they had things advertised in both Flemish and Walloon.

It was doing my head in because the two aren’t the same but looked roughly the same. Took me a while to figure out what I was looking at, much to my wife’s amusement.

03 Oct 2025 15:05:22
WDW, I live in Brussels, Belgium. been to Antwerp multple times and it is a lovely city esp. in the summer. Lieden? That's in Holland, for sure.

Now as for Flemish and Walloon, a Walloon is someone from Wallonia in the South which is the French side where they speak French. A Flemish is one from the Dutch side in the North who speaks Flemish, the Beligian version of Dutch from Holland.
