To try and put a positive spin on things we are only a point off the top and a point in front of the two in form teams heading into a break whilst in all honesty playing some awful football.
I'm hoping Mo finds something for the Man Utd game, I'd like to see Rio back on the bench. Yes, he is young but against tiring legs at 80+ minutes he brings something different.
I would also like to see a fast start against Man U in the same we got at Athletico, and finally if Chiesa is fit and raring to go then let's get him on the pitch.

Chelsea lost their previous two games so are hardly in form. We have been playing average and winning. We needed to start to play better to keep it going. The spotlight is shifting to Slot. Let's see what he can do.

Yeah I thinking the same Ernest, we really have played almost nothing so far, bits and pieces here and there but I would say last 30mins against arsenal is the most we've sustained any sort of decent football and we only 1 point behind and have had a difficult set of fixtures to start with. We are going to have to get up and running after this break, say what u like about arsenal but they won't lose too many, rock solid defense.
I always felt we would start slow this season (although surprised how poorly we have played) and I felt if we could stay close to arsenal at start-mid of season if it came to a race at end we would take them, they be under huge pressure go deliver the title and I'm not sure they would handle it. Worry at min is that arsenal will have too big of a gap the way we playing.

We’re sloppy in defence and there’s a gaping hole in midfield where every Tom, Dick and Harry can run through. We’re making too many consecutive mistakes and gifting opponents soft goals. Just look at the ones we conceded on Saturday, gaping hole in midfield where no one took responsibility, then Van Dijk backs away so much it leaves Caicedo acres of space and loads of time to look up, take aim and shoot. He should have closed him down and cut the option out. Although it’s equally fair to say that Caicedo shouldn’t have had a free run at the defence in the first place.
It’s fair to say that almost all of the goals we’ve conceded this season have been self inflicted by consecutive brain farts, lax defending and being too soft in the middle of the pitch. I’d be tempted to go with Gravenberch and Bajcetic in the middle (when he’s back from surgery, which should be fairly soon) as he does at least have some defensive nous and can pass a ball well.

There’s no Divine right to beat anyone, no expectations to win trophies even.
But I do expect maximum effort. I expect to try score goals. And I do expect every Liverpool team to create chances and entertain the fans as a minimum.

If you look at the Caicedo goal when the ball is played into Gusto, Grabenburch is the wrong side of Caicedo following Enzo with Macallister in the holding position. For me Grav needs to sit deeper as macca for whatever the reason isn't at the races.

@Ernest Millar, don't be fooled by 2nd position table, football is all about trajectory and momentum, and at moment our performance is going down. We may not even make top 4 this season.
Last year title was built on Klopp squad, playing same way as Klopp with inor tweaks, we spent only 10mil.
This year we spent 500mil and we are worse off. How can it be? It points to Slot wanting Now to "stamp" his own tactics with the players he has chosen to buy. This is the real Slot squad, and we see the result.
Eredivisie is still far cry from Premier league.

What happens when Arsenal’s new signings get up to speed with a new league, team etc.
Personally I thought our first half (35 mins) against Everton was the best we’ve played this season.
Our game against Arsenal was hardly an advert for the premier league.
When we look back at title contender games
Wengers Arsenal v Fergies Utd
Mourinho Chelsea v Utd
Pep’s City v Klopps heavy metal Liverpool
Then look at that game against Arsenal it actually goes to show how far football has fallen entertainment wise.

If Grimsby can beat them, then so should we also?
The Prem is a very tough league, this year there will not be a clear run away leader like last year! chelsea, man cheaty, LFC have all lost two PL games so far from 7 played. We have played three games so far in London one a final, and lost every one. The UCL will take its toll, my view is forget about all Cup competitions and focus solely on the Premier this season, as it's clearly a transition season for the new players and manager and new coach GVB?
I note Feyenoord under Slot won the Eredivise for his only time 22-23, and finished second the next season 23-24, failing to win back to back Dutch Eredivise Titles.
Kudos to David Moyes today and from a goal down, we have failed to beat the palace in our last two games, Moyes beat palace away as EFC manager last February 1-2, today is two wins from twice he has played palace as the returning EFC manager, Moyes has glasners number, arne does not?

Totally agree VV,
Ye could sail the QE2 through the middle and turn it around without touching anyone. Semenyo done the same in the first game this season, after the Derby Arne said in his post match summary he has told Ryan to play further forward, "okay Boss, and leave a dirty big hole behind me" that's good tactics is it not?
Just tell the players to do one specific job only defenders defend, attackers attack, not multi tasking all singing and dancing football roles, "jack of all trades, master of none"

VV, I was with you until you mentioned Baj to solve ourpercieved softness issue. You lost me there, Im sorry. Baj is nowhere near the answer and is not even fit. There are other solutions potentially BUT sorry, Baj ain't it.

‘Defenders defend, attackers attack’, that’ll never catch on.
