I think we need to do in Def what we did in Middle few seasons ago.
To keep
Bradley. He is unlucky with Injuries.
VVD maybe 2 more years for continuity.
Leoni will wait how his injury has affected him.
Kerkez. showing good signs now.
To move on
Konate. i think new deal is only on table to avoid him moving on free.
Robbo legs have gone unfotunately
Gomez. very sad to see him go
Tsimi. not at level we need
I consider Frimpong to be wide cover and desperate cover at rb.
To buy:
Bastoni long term VVD successor.
Schoter back on free. Or both below.
Guehi or Oddozɔnez in Jan.
LB i am not sure maybe Mitchell from CP.
RB Porro/ B. White from London.
Bradley / New RB/ Frimpong as cover
Bastoni/ Schotterback/ Guehi/ VVD / Leoni for CB
Kerkez/ Mitchell for LB.
{Ed001's Note - please not Porro or White.}

Guehi in, Gomez out - like for like
Jacquet in, Konate out - like for like
Schlotterbeck in, Robbo and Tsimikas out - LCB and LB hybrid, 2 years left on deal
Koyade in, Ramsey out - really robust, athletic RB - physical opposite of Frimpong.

Ed, Kayode fo RB? Or has he regressed this season? I personally think we should have gone for him last summer. But reading some of the rumours, we seems to be doubling down on Dutch players. So I assume someone like Givairo Read at RB.
{Ed001's Note - I would love Kayode, he also can cover left-back and brings a long throw as well. Physically strong, quick and technically strong.}

You're missing Ramsay for RB - he has looked good, why waste him as an alternate RB, instead give him time to settle? Also Givaro Read has been linked for some time now.
Ordonez and Guehi are very unlikely to come in Jan, so I suspect that one of the kids we have bought may be our backups instead.
If you mean Nico Schlotterbeck, he would be a great option, but is in contract until 2027 so not sure where he's going to come in on a free for the next 18m.
Not sure that Mitchell will want to come to us to be a reserve? Surely better to use academy players? One that springs to mind who has had first team experiences and has got experience of playing in lower divisions is Owen Beck. Once Robbo leaves (and I hope he does get an extension as I still think he has a lot to deliver - not week in week out, but definitely the best backup we have whilst Kerkez adapts), I think Beck and/ or someone else coming through the academy would be right.
Also, going back to the CBs, we also have a longer term group of promising teenage CBs that we are signing now/ in the summer.
For example the left footed CB - Mor Talla Ndiaye - who has just joined us.
They should be considered in the same breath as Leoni as they are all of a similar age.

Porro always reminds me of Steve-O from Jackass.

Jaquet is good shout but fairly young and inexperienced would want 2 exp CB specially with leadership qualities to take over from VVD.

Sadly I don't think you can really consider bradley as a keep anymore. He seems to have terrible luck with injuries, and doesn't seem to be able to stay fit.
12 Jan 2026 09:59:26
He does Shipley!

Where is LB/ CB Luke Chambers these days? Someone used to post updates on how the players on loan were doing, I haven't seen any for ages.
12 Jan 2026 10:36:01
ShipleyKopite, there used to be a time where certain fans used to compare Porro to Trent. Yeah, that literally happened.
12 Jan 2026 11:01:50
I might get pelters for this, but I think Porro is a good player playing at a circus of a club. In terms of profile, he progresses the ball more like Trent than any other current Premier League rightback.
Not suggesting we sign him, but I don't think he's crap.

I was about to mention Luke Chambers as well. More of a LCB/ LB player than an outright LB like Beck so he should fit what we are looking to do better. But he is out injured now and has been for the past year or so. Not sure if he's back yet but I think he needs to be managed carefully, similar to Danns.

Bhav_reds l posted about this few weeks ago stating why did we spend millions on players when a number of players were at an age were they would need replacing i was called a whinger glad to see someone on my train of thought but not about the players you picked
But i can see where you are coming from mate. YNWA.

Yes we have 2 of most exp defenders slowing down In robbo and VVD.
Konate is just not consistent enough and has a mistake about to happen
Gomez is very able player when fit but its rarely the case.
Frimpong is don't consider long term rb option.
So we will need atleast 5 new players integrated to the squad. as everyone here has suggested we use academy or buy players.
But a back 4 of
Ramsay leoni VVD chambers may not take us too far.

Pelican, I don't rate Porro at all and to me, he has been been decent at best.
Hence, not good enough for us and this was even before the circus came to town at Spurs. Just my take.

Barakdee - I am pretty sure that was Carra. Not sure if it's the same one as the reliable transfer and club info news poster we have right now though.
