Can I ask fellow followers if is just me or does anyone else really want city to win the league. I know we are as they say in transition but I would honestly prefer anyone but arteta to win it.

02 Feb 2026 23:04:17
Doesn't really bother me too much Brian tbh.

Just disappointed that we should be really pushing at the top with City and Arsenal and giving them a scrap for the title.
Push comes to shove I'd rather have City but credit to Arsenal if they win it.

02 Feb 2026 23:32:16
I can't give arsenal any credit for the horrible football they play. As much as I have disliked city for the last number of years they would be a better champion than that negative arteta football.

03 Feb 2026 00:18:23
I could be in the minority but I can't stand it when cheats won so I would hate it if City wins it. I don't like Arteta's style of football but I have a soft spot for Arsenal in general so I wouldn't mind it if they win the league this season.

Arteta and Slot play the same boring, slow, horseshoe, side to side dross. The only difference is they are more of a threat from set pieces and more compact defensively because they play 4 centre halfs.

I've never wanted a team to not win the league more than this current Arsenal side, sincerely think its the most boring, unambitious potential league winners i've ever seen. Guardiola is our only hope.

03 Feb 2026 00:38:15
I'd rather be stuck in a lift with kier Starmer and Rachel from accounts for a year than have arsenal win it.

03 Feb 2026 02:09:34
That's the million dollar question: boring negative dross or underachieving cheats?

I really can't get myself to accept either winning it though; I still hope they both lose every game they play. In the end, you just have to accept some times things are out of your hands I guess.

Unforgivable that we aren't challenging them this year.

03 Feb 2026 04:17:23
Id prefer the dead-ball specialists over the sportswashing 115 but only by a slim margin. Lesser of the two evils is all.

03 Feb 2026 06:39:38
Prefer City, because every title they've won I can say was tainted by 115.

03 Feb 2026 07:06:07
Title race ceases to exist once we're not in it for me. It's like a "no contest" ?‍♂️.
Unless it's ManU, then I always want the other team to win, like when Aguero scored against QPR in injury time, I punched the air with that goal.

03 Feb 2026 07:35:28
I was kinda the same but at the end of the day it ain't us and it won't be manU so I'm less worried about it ?.

03 Feb 2026 07:44:22
For me, I'm disappointed the way Slot has us playing this season as it looked a good summer transfer window so just annoyed we're not challenging but tbf, we've hated the cheating from City, we've all bemoaned the officiating calls they continously got so if Arsenal win, fair play to them - I go on their page a bit and they're a sound bunch of fans so good luck to them

Arteta is tough to take yeah, but between them and City, I'd choose them.

{Ed025's Note - im with you Bill..

03 Feb 2026 07:45:43
If city win, then we can point to the 115 charges and put an asterix next to the date, if Artetas dross wins, they won fair and square and we have a decade of delusional north London fans spouting off.

{Ed025's Note - delusional fans are everywhere Barry, none more than the L4 region of Merseyside mate.. :)

03 Feb 2026 07:58:22
I don't see a problem with Arsenal winning it, it pains me to see that the team that has the most expensive group of big lump set piece specialists is winning the league where that has become the norm, but it makes sense, they were technically ahead of the curve when it came to that.

They are not fun to watch, though, but then again I would say neither is City, they have players who can win games with a moment of brilliance in Foden, Cherki and Doku but much of the time they don't even look like a team, which is uncharacteristic of a Pep squad.

03 Feb 2026 09:55:30
I'm with you, Ron. I've never celebrated another team's title win more than the "Aguero" win. Having suffered year after year of United dominance, I can still live with any side winning the league other than them.

03 Feb 2026 10:44:59
I like Arsenal, proper team like us. Arteta on the other hand, well the less said the better.

03 Feb 2026 10:52:06
Exactly Ron. Boot out Starmer the Farmer Harmer and let's get Nige in to sort things out.

03 Feb 2026 11:44:20
So how do I want to go? By a gunshot wound so I bleed out slowly or by getting injected with rat poison and slowly slide away?

Decisions.

03 Feb 2026 11:45:56
Watching man city they are a bit far forward than us but not the complete rebuild .
They are letting to many goals in to be champions . Arsenal for me though ( i hate admitting it) look the more complete team though their football is all about dead ball kicks they play like their manager dark arts football i think they will win the league they remind me of a bit like Chelsea under Jose Mourinho .
