I'm starting to wonder if Carragher gets briefed by slot Hughes and Edwards to go on his rants against Salah. Remember this fellas when Benitez left and the club were heading the wrong direction we heard nothing from Carragher to highlight growing concerns in the dressing room with the appointment of Hodgson, someone who was meant to be one of the token scousers - think this was mentioned by Reina.

But Salah is standing up for what we can all see and has stated we are heading down a dark path, and somebody who has earnt the right to point out what's going wrong at the club. Salah has done more for this club than that dirty rat, headline seeking helmet has ever done. Remember Jamie, your Liverpool career is overshadowed by spitting at a little girl. disgrace

Sorry, lads, been meaning to get that off my chest for a while.

18 May 2026 23:29:17
That's some bizarre logic. You think Carragher, who has consistently criticized players who speak out about the manager, be it Salah, Ronaldo, anybody, should have spoken out about Hodgson when he was an employee of Liverpool? Carragher may be many things but he has been consistent on stuff like this for years.

No one is bigger than Liverpool Football Club, not even Mo Salah. If he wants to say something then why not say it after he's gone? Because Mo Salah's priority is Mo Salah.

18 May 2026 23:34:15
I wouldn't be surprised tbh.

18 May 2026 23:46:53
I don't think Carra is saying anything unreasonable.

18 May 2026 23:49:12
Sorry Arnie, it's not bizarre logic at all. If you're a supposed leader of the dressing room at a football club, are you suggesting it's not part of the responsibility of calling out negative shifts in direction for the benefit of the club/fans/teammates? Success in all remits in life is built upon people who are capable of calling out the bs when they see it and acting upon it- to give a real life example when Microsoft replaced Mr Ballmer wait satya nadella.

Salah has done this but unfortunately there are people like you who want to say he is out of line. All he has stated is the obvious and you don't achieve so much in the game without knowing what it takes to go to the top. So I say this respectfully, get carraghers peanuts out your oral orifice and go to bed x

19 May 2026 00:25:39
I can't listen to him or Nevile.

19 May 2026 00:31:27
I understand both opinions on Salah's post and whether he was right to do it or not.

I just agree with the post so much and I feel it really had to be said. I want Liverpool to be the beacon for attacking football and high intensity, and, with all reports he was staying, something had to be done.

I'm not sure it's the right way to go about it, but if the result is Slot's sacking and a wake up call to the board on who we should hire, then it's worth it.

And, of course, the right answer is Iraola.

19 May 2026 00:32:58
I'm with you, Playboi. If you watch the whole segment, he states that Mo is putting himself ahead of the football club and disrespecting the manager.

A manager who works at 50% the expected effort, takes no responsibility, says things like scoring 2 goals at Villa Park is an accomplishment.

Mo called out the lack of work ethic, professionalism and all the attributes that made us successful.

imo that's what a leader does, especially when he has shown my example for 9 years.

Carra can criticize that he did it publicly, but the situation at the club is so dire, this was exactly what's needed to move on from Slot (and hopefully the other two clowns).

19 May 2026 00:58:33
ArnieJ, if Salah's priority is Salah, then why has he voiced concerns about the style of football and training standards at the club on 2 occasions now, at this late stage of the season when he's already got one foot out the door?

If you're correct, then it makes absolutely no sense for him to do that; he gets no benefit from it whatsoever. He even risks tarnishing his own image and possibly damaging potential transfer opportunities. If Mo was complaining about something personal, you might have a point, but he's not. He's concerned about the exact same things that the entire fanbase is, the same thing every football fan can see with their own two eyes.

He's not creating drama out of nothing; he's speaking the truth.

It's important he does it now before he leaves, timing is critical in football. If he waits until the summer, it won't have the same impact, he won't be taken as seriously, the club certainly won't be bothered, and people will speculate that he's just bitter. Clearly Mo loves the club, he doesn't want to see all the hard work everyone put in during Klopp's era be dismantled, and neither does the fanbase. 99% of us are behind Mo, he did the right thing, no doubt about it.

19 May 2026 05:18:57
It's Carragher, what do you expect. I think it's quite clear to see that he doesn't really like Salah. You can see the difference between Gerrard and Carragher. Gerrard really cares about the club and wants the best for the club. Carragher only cares about his punditry job.

And, Arnie, Salah's priority is Salah? He's leaving in one week. What positive thing does he gain from this? Nothing. In fact, this brings more negativity toward him. Other clubs might see him as a disruptive figure and wouldn't want to sign him.

19 May 2026 00:19:07
Carra is a 'rent-a-mouth' being paid by Sly Sports to create controversy, emotional reactions and discussion.

This renders his opinions worthless

19 May 2026 02:07:19
When Ronaldo did something similar to Ten Haag everyone laughed because it was embarrassing and now Salah has done it all you puppies are lapping it up because he's your favourite player. Anytime a player goes public it's embarrassing, always has been always will be.

19 May 2026 06:29:03
Carragher is a clown,

19 May 2026 06:41:11
Well, if Salah is leaving in one week then why not wait until then? Salah knew exactly what he was doing. Ironically, nearly everyone criticised Salah back in Jan/Feb for speaking out but now it's ok. Weird.

19 May 2026 06:42:39
Carragher has really got his criticisms of Salah wrong twice this season. Salah giving his opinion at the end of his time with the club is not disrespectful, it's to his credit. He has been a legend for the club.

His exemplary training and effort should have been the level for all the players. I loved Carragher as a player, as a pundit, he is a weapon. I even prefer listening to big Meeks than him.

19 May 2026 06:47:43
Carra is just trying to stay relevant! He was standing on the sidelines arguing with Slot on the opening day of this season about how we played, but Salah can't talk now about how we are playing. Salah has said everything the fans think; it's unwatchable these days. Carra and Neville are both saying he has thrown a grenade. Well, it didn't take long for the rest of the team to pick up a gun and start shooting! They compare it to Ronaldo.

Was he not right as well tho? Ten Hag hadn't a clue either. People like Ronaldo and Salah know what it takes to win, and they know they aren't seeing them standards or anywhere close. Carra keeps saying Salah is selfish and wants it all about him. He's leaving, and this week was always going to be about him anyway; he didn't have to speak out to make this week about him!

19 May 2026 07:01:34
Irish, when you said "Salah knew exactly what he was doing," what exactly was he doing? Speaking the truth? That the standard at Liverpool has dropped massively. And the current manager seems to be ok with it. He's speaking now because he is still part of Liverpool. What significance does it have when he said this after he is no longer a Liverpool player?

19 May 2026 07:20:21
I must admit I don't like it when Salah goes to the media like he has, be it this season r when he is in the process of contract renewals. I prefer all that kept in house and private, I don't think it does the club any good whatsoever.

19 May 2026 07:59:43
It doesn't, Digger. I mean it's not rocket science that things haven't gone well this season. It's just Salah's one last pop at Slot before he leaves, nothing else.

19 May 2026 08:16:08
Anything cryptic in your post that you're looking forward to next season Ed001?
Or am I as usual putting 2+2 together and getting 2222222?

{Ed001's Note - I am just hoping that Mike Gordon steps in and cleans house over the summer. He has to have seen that Edwards and Hughes are incompetent.}

19 May 2026 08:43:45
Multiple ex players, journos and supporters have been making the lamest excuses for this debacle of a season for weeks. It was good that someone on the inside has basically shut those excuses down and called out the lack of professionalism and dropping of standards.

The fact that Slot has bit back, saying that standards were set on the pitch and not the gym, then promptly set about losing to United, dropping points against an appalling Chelsea side and then being thrashed by Villa only confirms that Salah was right.

Personally I'm glad that an insider has shut down the excuses and is saying what the majority of us are feeling. Slot should have been sacked on Friday night, and it's a disgrace that he's still here today. I say "here", but he's sunning himself in Spain.

19 May 2026 08:55:47
"No one is bigger than Liverpool Football Club, not even Mo Salah".

Not Arne Slot either, mate.

19 May 2026 10:47:50
Exactly, Ron! Could not agree more!

19 May 2026 09:07:03
If Salah was thinking of Salah he'd have kept his mouth shut and perhaps guaranteed himself a starting spot on his final game for the club. It's clear he's put himself on the line for the club.

Slot has thrown players under the bus this season and no one has batted an eyelid. imo, the man is a fraud.
