AC Milan's owners showing how you deal with a horrible season.
Not only have they sacked the manager, they have also sacked the directors!
For those that don't know they missed out on the CL on the final day.
Their owners did not need an end of season review, they have acted quickly, which gives the supporters immediate clarity as to what they intend to do.
Meanwhile at Anfield a tumble weed is blowing, and we are expected as supporters to get sidetracked by Transfer Rumours!
FSG should not need 2 weeks to decide what to do, if they are serious about becoming serial winners, they need to act quickly.
The main question John W Henry should be asking himself is do I trust Slot, Edwards @ Hughes to turn this mess around?
Just reading the posts on here since Sunday and you can easily sense the mood of the posters, confidence is low, what we have witnessed since Slot took control of the team does not help matters.
Richard Hughes used to overpay for our players when he was a Bournemouth, does he not understand negotiation?
Edwards should have been let go when the FSG abandoned the multi club model.
If the option is to bury our head in the sand, in the belief it will all come good, then imo we shall return to the mediocre days of old.
Watch Arsenal show us what we should have done, now there are champions, I guarantee you they will not rip the guts out of a title winning team.
26 May 2026 06:26:59
Take note FSG.
26 May 2026 06:59:03
And AC Milan's first choice for manager, who they have already contacted: Iraola.
Meanwhile we sit on our hands "keeping our powder dry".
26 May 2026 07:20:44
But but but but but that's not the Liverpool way. Pathetic from our club, really. AC Milan show how an elite should operate in these situations.
26 May 2026 07:23:02
Did we miss out on CL on the last day too? Seems to me there might be a difference in revenue next season between us and them.
26 May 2026 07:39:26
Would you prefer to be Milan? They sacked the whole administrative structure save for Mr Ibrahimovic, who wields an enormous amount of power without actually having a defined role besides being an 'advisor'. He ousted Maldini, who was a beloved figure at the club, for suggesting that changes should have been made earlier and for disagreeing with the direction transfers were taking at the club. They have been a basket case of a club and a disaster on and off the pitch for the better part of the last five years.
I can't help but smirk a little bit inside with remarks like 'Milan show how an elite club should operate'.
Okay, if you consider Milan to be an elite club still, I think their fans would like to have a word with you. Pulisic had by far the most goal involvements in the team, and he was injured for a fair chunk of the season and did virtually nothing in the second half of the season. Makes you wonder if folks on here pay attention to any other teams besides Liverpool, and as a result think that we are the worst run club in the world. Not an excuse for how bad this season has been on my end, mind you, but maybe a bit of perspective is needed sometimes.
26 May 2026 07:43:54
Unfortunately Anfield on Sunday never told FSG what they thought and that was the perfect opportunity.
26 May 2026 08:37:42
We should have sung it, yes.
26 May 2026 08:46:59
I don't think AC Milan should be used as a benchmark regarding how to run a football club.
26 May 2026 08:48:03
Sang what, exactly, Ssss?
26 May 2026 08:58:32
Totally agree, Patrik. Don't like knee jerk reactions such as suggested by kingkenny. Do I believe Slot should go? Yes. But with forward thinking and a plan. I get supporters want clarity. But it is more important the powers that be have clarity first.
26 May 2026 09:09:52
And didn't Arsenal back the manager?
It might be hard to comprehend, but JWH might actually think Edwards, Hughes and Slot are the men to put things right.
And before you all say it, I do know what will happen if the club does stick by them.
Quasimodo predicted it years ago. Oh, sorry, I mean Nostradamus predicted it years ago.
26 May 2026 09:12:00
Sang 'Slot Out' or 'P*** Off Bald Fraud' all game, I presume, Rome.
26 May 2026 09:23:32
Really don't buy this two week end of season review thing. Would take us right up to when the WC is about to start. They know now what they are doing going forward. That's why I said if Slot was going there's no reason he shouldn't be already gone. All keeping him around for is wasting the time a new manager has to get his plans in place.
Likes of Ireola, it's not as if we would have to negotiate with his club. For me, each day Arne is still in the role significantly increases the chances he'll be here next season.
26 May 2026 09:24:10
Yeah, like that was ever going to happen, Patrik!
26 May 2026 09:39:49
FSG are slow to sack managers. Look at Rodgers. At the Red Sox, Alex Cora won the World Series in his first season as manager (sound familiar?). In the next 6 seasons they made the playoffs twice, both times as wildcards i.e.
not winning their own 5 team division. This included finishing 21st and 19th of 30 teams in 2022 and 2023. He was finally fired early in 2026.
26 May 2026 09:56:42
I loathe him as much as the next person but must we use words such as "Sloth" and phrases like "bald fraud" and "egg dipped in rubbish"? Think of the kids
26 May 2026 10:19:35
We backed Rodgers in 14/15 in almost exactly the same circumstances when he should have been sacked. Slot is only lucky that the quality of the top six is significantly lower and that 5th was granted a place in the Champions League in April, else we would be getting Europa (not that it matters, if by some miracle he hasn’t been sacked by the time the knockout stages are here, he’ll cuckold to PSG again if we qualify), but otherwise, 60 points, conceding over 50 goals, losing 12 and only winning 17, is worse than Rodgers with a far better squad.
That deserves the sack and it is incompetence and negligence from the senior management team to have let him stay in post. It really doesn’t matter who he brings in the door over the summer, it’ll be the same crap next season whatever happens.
26 May 2026 10:51:28
I suspect that Iraola's contract runs to the end of June when he will become a free agent.
26 May 2026 11:14:41
Did I miss something? Have we missed out on Champions League?
26 May 2026 11:31:07
Faith, we had an absolutely pathetic season which was worse than Rodgers in 14/15 and you think that's ok? It's absolutely not acceptable or ok.
If you think that buffoon is going achieve different results next season playing the way he wants us to play, then you're even more delusional than I thought. It will be the same rubbish with a few new faces that's all. We'll still concede cheap goals, we'll still be weak in midfield and we'll still continue struggle to create. I'm expecting he'll be sacked before November. Like that other idiot Rodgers.
26 May 2026 11:51:48
Did I say that's ok?
Did I say we are going to achieve different results next season?
Is the only way you can make your argument by making up my points for me and then arguing against them?
Back to the point, obviously satire. Key difference is AC Milan didn't achieve the bottom line. Another hidden point - they have sucked for ages.

@JoJo, It's an American thing. It is what sports ownership does over there whenever there is success for a team that doesn't win all the time. I can tell you that cos I used to live there and followed American sports for many years. There is a diff. in culture in this instance.
In the NFL (the sport I watched on tv and live in stadiums), if a head coach wins the Super Bowl, he can do no wrong for the next 5 to 10 years.
Example: Pete Carroll won the SB with the Seattle Seahawks in 2013. They made another Super Bowl in 2014 or 2015 and lost.
The guy kept his job for another 7 years or so (not even making the playoffs for some of them) till he overstayed his welcome and it was finally time to go.
It seems FSG still don't understand that footie fans don't play that crap. Hence, they seem at times shocked that we are having a go at a manager/club for not trying to win every year just cos he won us the title in his first year or at some point in his tenure, rather than being appreciative and just cutting him some slack for however long. Just my observation.
26 May 2026 12:28:15
First of all, I want Slot out.
However, we've won the league twice in 35 years. We don't bathe in success.
26 May 2026 13:11:38
You'd swear we win it every second year the way people think securing Champions League is destroying the club.
26 May 2026 15:39:05
Viktor has spoken. ?
And I remember him(?) predicting that we'd sign one player last summer transfer window.
Keep up the good work, Vik. ?

Fans on this page would have marched the streets, organized banner flyovers and broken the internet years ago if we had the timeline Arteta had with Arsenal.
