I know this is the Liverpool page and we shouldn't . but it's that time again hahaha.

22 Oct 2026 00:29:03
You wouldn't want Fernandes in the trenches would you? He was an absolute disgrace tonight then rounds it off by slagging the manager's tactics. As long as he's at manure they'll continue to stagnate which is absolutely fine in my eyes!

At least we're showing an upward trend whilst transitioning to AIs techniques.

{Ed666's Note - I’m I the only one that doesn’t get the Bruno hype? I thinks he’s ok like but I don’t think he’s ever been this great player that is so heralded by everyone even in his prime I didn’t think he’s been all that..I mean did he have some games were he was unplayable sure but even Titi Camara had performances like that. For me he’s over rated.

22 Oct 2026 01:40:03
Manchester United fan here Ed666. I think he is part of our problems, the biggest i would say. As far as he is in our geam we will struggle. He is a moaner and a disgrace, its not logical to have watch players like Vitinha or David Silva or Ozil and think Bruno is in the same category.

{Ed666's Note - Welcome to the Liverpool page mate..The guy has ideas of grandiose and I agree he’s just not that good. The best thing for United would have been if he’d have gone to Saudi and you could have moved on. I still think this is his last season at United because I think his ego will cajole him into thinking he’s got one more big move in him and he can win important silverware

22 Oct 2026 01:41:59
Always has been for me as well Ed666.

{Ed666's Note - Hey Bazza how ya doing over there?

22 Oct 2026 03:36:59
It's remarkable that in the summer people were saying he was the best player in the league.

{Ed666's Note - it’s lamentable mate

22 Oct 2026 04:19:58
This might sound extreme but he's not even a good player, never mind great. He gets a lot of assists purely down to the amount of times he grenade launches the ball forward. There is very little actual quality. Pretty much every player in the Premier League would rack up a decent number of assists if they tried to aimlessly hoof the ball over the top every single time they got it.

He's so technically limited for a player in that position, slow, makes it impossible for his team to keep the ball and offers nothing out of possession. People had the gall to compare him with Steven Gerrard when he's not as good as Steven Pienaar.

{Ed666's Note - I agree not great good on his day.

22 Oct 2026 07:29:29
Obviously the man can play football but who'd want to play with him? Petulant. Like his international team mate. Perhaps that's where he licked it from. Long may he stay in Manchester I say!

22 Oct 2026 07:42:15
If we were clinical enough, Wirtz could have easily had, no less than 5 assists of the 9 chances he created vs Brentford. MU fans got sold Bruno's assists return from last season and now they're are stuck.

Modern day fans tend to watch what happens on the ball and utterly ignores what happens off it. Yes he can make the odd passes here and there but off the ball, MU plays with 10 men as he's often busy moaning and bleating over everything whilst walking around lazy, thanks to his ego.

What's funny is the transfer fee MU rejected to keep their problem. Then there is Carrick, for whom the fans said "if he had started the season, they would have won the league." Well, it 7pts from 7games in the league and an absolute disgrace in Europe.

22 Oct 2026 09:15:32
I'm confused. So it Bruno NOT way better than Szobozlai anymore? is he not the best player in England?

22 Oct 2026 09:51:17
Ugbes, to be fair, they never said which league!

As for Bruno, he is a good player when it goes well but a horrible leader imo. It's easy to lead and set an example when your winning but to lead you need to get your players through the rough patch. Using excuses and saying it's everyone else's fault is not how a captain should go about it.

Uniteds problem remains the players, they can blame the board, the lack of investment or the manager all they want. Until they sort that dressing room out, they will just repeat the process over and over again. They'll get Conte who may do OK, similar to Mourinho. But it won't take long for them to throw another one under the bus. The common thread is the players but, due to the constant heat on the owners, get away lightly in comparison.

If Bruno feels his tactics are that much better, show it, you have the ability to control it by being on the pitch, rather than sulk worse than my 3 year old!

22 Oct 2026 10:17:50
They have dross like Shaw, Maguire, Dalot, Mount, Zirkzee, Santos, etc etc etc. There is no easy fix for that club.

22 Oct 2026 10:30:02
Trying to get Champions League for 3 years for that ?.

22 Oct 2026 10:39:14
He's a good player, just not as good as he thinks he is.
Attitude and work rate is what's missing.

22 Oct 2026 12:04:41
Technically brilliant but has an ego and mentality like others have said that costs Man United in every game. Long may it continue ?.

22 Oct 2026 12:08:32
I've said for years, as long as United keep thinking Bruno is 'world class' and keep trying to build a team around him, they will never get to where they want to go.

He is capable of doing some good things but he only does it once in a blue moon (pun intended) when he feels like it.

Most of the time he's a hindrance. Doesn't work hard enough, doesn't inspire others, lacks quality, moans about everyone, blames everyone else but himself.

He's poison, perfect for United ;-)

22 Oct 2026 12:19:06
Time to go and read Shappy's essays yet?

22 Oct 2026 12:54:11
Man United ruined my teen years as a Liverpool fan between 2006-2013 - I used to get so much stick at school.

I am thoroughly enjoying their downfall!

{Ed666's Note - Me too mate. Those years were hellish..the one game that sticks out was a league game when Hyppia got sent off early totally messed my day up.

22 Oct 2026 13:41:53
A good assessment Rio!

22 Oct 2026 13:52:19
I use to find it funny when they were a big club, but the fact is they've been a mid table team for quite some time, so there demise isn't as fun as it was 5/6 years ago now. I also worry though that we may have become that if we hadn't got rid of slot when we did.

22 Oct 2026 15:41:35
Despite United's struggles, not one team better than them has ever even considered trying to sign him. Tells you all you need to know about his "world class" status.

22 Oct 2026 17:21:20
Always thought United are a club full of players that will get every manager the sack. Long may it continue but not to be complacent here think recruitment not only of excellent players but of great pros is vital.

Klopp was really excellent at this - and though I hate to admit it so is Arteta (got rid of Aubemayang early). Keep trouble makers and those whose ego is bigger than the club away no matter how good technically they are.

22 Oct 2026 18:02:09
I think Fernandes is a good player, one of their best players, he's carrying them at the moment so when he doesn't show up they look rubbish and he gets lambasted. I like Amad Diallo and would take him in an instant.
Man United will always be a big club, there's no doubt, but they are suffering from really poor ownership and leadership.

Worryingly, we're about to change ownership. It's a time of great uncertainty.

22 Oct 2026 20:13:11
Fernandes has put up phenomenal numbers over the years despite playing for a poor side, nobody can deny his footballing ability, can't say the same about him as a person, his attitude stinks to high heaven. Too much time spent sucking Ronaldo's tit.

22 Oct 2026 19:30:16
Thanks ed666. I really like your page because there are good conversations and it is really is the most crowded page. About Bruno, one poster said it as it is, you can't build the team around him and succed. I refer to him as a headless chicken, i know is it hard. But there is no reason your team trying to defend and instead of helping, you are sprinting to referees ears.

He is not a team player and i really thing he is a class below players like Ozil which theoritically are his comparison. And that's a same because if he didn't care about numbers and had the right attitude, he would be a very good player.

{Ed666's Note - can you explain how he got all this hype because I’ve never been able to figure it out?

22 Oct 2026 22:41:49
Ofcourse. Its about numbers and its the same story for a lot years with different players. Folks always like players with good or great numbers without taking into consideration about what the same players bring to the table. Although Bruno has great numbers he brings chaos, nerves and destroy balance. No team can handle this chaos, they call it high risk high reward but most of these times playing it safe is the best solution in order to find a higher probability chance-thats the reason why we have most shoots in the league, because we play like this. Although we have the most shoots, shoot are of low probability. Then, in Brunos case, its the timing because we are a bad team and Bruno is "our best player" which i disagree, but even if it is the case, the bar is low.
So, the fans everytime these kind of players (lets say effective) if they are about to leave ask the same question. Where will we find Brunos asists, Salahs goals, Lukakus goals (in the past), Ronaldos goals etc. What they can't understand is that's not how it works, it is about how much you can help the team to become better and then goals will come from everywhere on the pitch.

Its not about how someone scores but how much a team can score WITH him in the first eleven.
For example at Juve Ronaldo did his job theoritically and scored goals, but Juve, as a team, scored 16 less goals, in comparison to last season, and declined with him. Ironically Manchester United scored 16 less goals the season Ronaldo came, in comparison to the previous season. Futhermore he destroyed defensive balance because he was in the bottom 1% in Europes top 5 leagues for presses, even less than Zlatan, then 41 at Milan, but that's another case.
So Bruno falls in this category, i call them effective players. People like players who assist because is one of the most digestible (easy to undersand) stats-metrics. The difficult is to really watch him and try on your own to understand if he is so good as his asists suggest, or these asists are just a number.

23 Oct 2026 05:51:21
Bruno is a talented footballer.
He has literally carried that side for the past 5 years or so, which is a pity, because it would be so funny as to where they would be today without him. I honestly believe that United would have been relegated if he had not been there.

Thats why I reckon he is viewed as so important to them, and put so high on his pedestal.

Some might confuse his attitude for his arrogance, but he has the right mentality, maybe his delivery of his comments are poorly timed.

23 Oct 2026 09:04:26
Good thread this one.

In my opinion Carrick, the procession of managers since SAF retired and the players are the effect. The underlying cause, in my honest opinion, are the Glazers and the Ineos boys. Their primary concern is money.

The club is run poorly from the top and the poor leadership flows downwards through the club.

No matter who replaces Carrick things won't change until the ownership / management changes.

23 Oct 2026 13:13:09
To be frank Bruno mars the captain's armband.

23 Oct 2026 10:53:07
"can you explain how he got all this hype because I've never been able to figure it out".

Ed, I know I can't. Never been his fan since the hype he got before signing for Utd.

{Ed666's Note - beggars belief how he gets all these plaudits? Oh well he deserves the pelters he’s getting now. Ironically I think he would strive under conte because he would have to play for the team.

23 Oct 2026 14:02:09
JLC exactly my point, people always say and think that without X player we would be relagated. That what the case with Ronaldos goals too, back then "without Ronaldo goals we would be relegated". Its not work like that and history and its not like we would be playing with 10 men.

23 Oct 2026 14:56:58
Rigsby, what has Frank Bruno got to do with all this? ?.

23 Oct 2026 18:08:41
I personally think the fact that Bruno has looked as good as he has in the United sides he has been in is a testament to his ability.

As of the end of last season he had created nearly 700 chances since his debut. The nearest competitors were De Bruyne and Salah on the low 400s. Two of the Premier leagues greatest ever creators. I can understand people not liking the guy, I don't, but you just look silly when you deny his quality.
