“Lyon have tabled a bid for Tyler Morton, but it remains below Liverpool’s asking price, which would be in excess of £10m. ”.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jul 2025 19:00:22
8-10 just let him go and play football same happened to Nat Phillips got priced out of a move end up on loan for years.

29 Jul 2025 19:07:00
Have you seen Morton play Gary? The kid is a very good player. Less than £10m is an absolute insult in today’s market.

I’m all for letting these players go and build their careers but we can’t have our pants pulled down in the process!

{Ed025's Note - come on Robbo, you rip off nearly all teams with your sales mate, you got £34m for Quansah ffs...at least Dick Turpin wore a mask..

29 Jul 2025 19:08:55
I have a feeling their will be a buy back with Morton.

29 Jul 2025 19:24:24
So we offer below a clubs valuation and it is low balling. But we stick to our own valuation on a player and it is pricing them out of a move? 10m is not a massive figure in today's market for Morton.

{Ed025's Note - i think the Morton deal is pretty fair RedQ, which is very unusual for Liverpool mate..

29 Jul 2025 19:57:54
For someone like Morton a buy back clause or % of follow on fee and/ or hefty ass on payments if he 50+ and 100+ appearances should resolve differences on the initial fee.

29 Jul 2025 20:07:06
Think he will excel in the right team. Genuinely thought he would make it for the club. He deserves the chance to go and make his mark somewhere. But it has to be for the correct price.

29 Jul 2025 20:02:21
Ed025 Morton + 20m for Fofana sounds great, appreciate your lot convincing him Liverpool was a great city ?.

{Ed025's Note - hes a good player WYred and hopefully the lad will see sense and sign for the mighty Blues and not our noisy neighbours, he could be a star for us and fulfill his dreams...or sign for you and be back up to Curtis Jones, now thats one way to ruin a career mate.. :)

29 Jul 2025 20:29:35
Ed25 I’ll start with I like you pal you are normally pretty balanced and fair but this constant dig that we “rip people off” is getting to be very bitter.

In what business would you not look to achieve the best selling price possible.

Nobody is forcing anyone to pay an agreed fee so obviously the buying clubs see value in their purchases also.

The world we live in these days has over inflated prices across the whole of football. I really don’t see any club under selling their assets.

If you sell your house will you do it cheap or look to achieve the best rate? Same with a car? It wouldn’t make sense would it?

Please take a step back and stop this silly narrative you seem obsessed with on our page.

I wish you well and come in peace but with frustration on this matter.

{Ed025's Note - dont ever take me too seriously SSH, but i will say that you all complain when clubs ask for high fees for players that you want, but when you are selling you want telephone numbers mate..

29 Jul 2025 21:04:54
Morton will be a Premier League player, and doesn't look out of place playing with the stars of England 21's. Phillips was always a Championship player, although he did serve us well.

29 Jul 2025 21:04:49
@25, how are we ripping people off - clubs don’t have to pay the prices we ask for. There’s generally a bargaining process and the potential buyer is always free to walk away.

{Ed025's Note - thats fair comment WDW, but the valuation you seem to put on your players seems way over the top to me, not so much the club but the supporters are living in cloud cuckoo land mate, a few have said you should be looking for £65m for Harvey Elliot as a point in case, hes a squad player who makes an odd appearance as a sub and plays a few cup games for gods sake, whats next?..you will be asking for more than £7-50 for Curtis Jones i bet.. :)

29 Jul 2025 21:05:35
I am with ed025 on this one. Morton has talent but he will not reach his potential here as there is not route into the team for him. Let him go, £10m is good for a young player with little experience and it is good for Morton’s career too!

29 Jul 2025 21:15:57
Every set of fans has the odd fuzzy head. Most our fans I see on here don’t tend to wrapped up in finances. Wirtz and Isak as examples very few have questioned the price seeing the market for what it is.

Onwards take care bud.

{Ed025's Note - yeah you too mate..

29 Jul 2025 21:30:17
Morton has yet to serve as yet 1 percent what Nat Phillips did for us, in a depleted team. Until Tyler does that, have some respect.

29 Jul 2025 21:18:28
Ed025 I think you need to stop now with all this nonsense about us ripping teams off.
I will say one name and then end this nonsense.
Richarlison £60m.

{Ed025's Note - it was a great deal for us and actually kept us afloat at the time Grino as we were looking at relegation due to PSR mate...sometimes need must my friend..

29 Jul 2025 21:54:53
Morton is out of contract next summer I think so how much do you expect to get for him I was impressed by him for the u21’s but can’t see anyone bid more then 15m.

29 Jul 2025 21:58:18
Isn't Morton now coming into the last year of his contract, according to Capology, so we really won't be getting huge money for him this summer as he will be a freebie next summer.

29 Jul 2025 21:58:12
Just remember Ed025 likes the crack and wind up sounds a good chap to me.

29 Jul 2025 22:41:41
No one expects huge money for Morton but £10m is not enough for a young DM whose just been instrumental in England U21s winning the euros.

Chelsea just sold Felix for £43m for gods sake. That guy hasn’t done a thing in the last 3 years and you’re telling me Morton is worth less than £10m?

Ed25 your bitterness is close to making me ignore anything you say. It’s oozing out of your every pore. If you want to come on these pages and have people take you remotely seriously, try to be a bit more balanced and speak some sense. All we ever hear from you is how we rip people off and you always, no matter what the subject, manage to get a dig at Curtis Jones in. It’s pretty boring now mate.

29 Jul 2025 22:18:40
@25, I’d agree about fans, in general, having high expectations when it comes to selling their team’s players.

Partly bias, partly a lack of financial understanding within the set up of the game, and an over estimation of how life like football manager electronic games actually are.

I guess for, in this case, for some Liverpool fans it is a variation on the popular idea of the ‘English tax’ when buying selling English players - in this case, Morton - has played for Liverpool so you have to stick £15~20m on straight away if he is good enough to play for us.

On a side note the quote in the press attributed to Moyes yesterday about ‘a lot of good players have turned us down recently’ made me laugh - I’m not sure that was the most positive thing the manager of the club (any club really) should be saying in public. For me, it didn’t inspire confidence in him or the club for any lads who may have @ctually been thinking of signing.

29 Jul 2025 23:09:40
Your keep net is getting full, Ed025 ?.

30 Jul 2025 05:49:01
Morton would walk into the current Everton team.

{Ed025's Note - our Women,s team maybe Hughesy but certainly not the champions elect.. :)

30 Jul 2025 09:35:42
I apologise for saying Phillips always was and is a Championship footballer. A total lack of respect on my part.

30 Jul 2025 12:44:00
Nunez has just proved in this match now why we need Isak. Just missed an absolute sitter that didn’t even hit the target. I’ve supported this guy through thick and thin but nothing has changed.

30 Jul 2025 14:51:36
Sorry folks i do have to agree with Ed25 here,

I think we value our players far to highly at times. 10m is more than fine i think for Morton in a world where we have just paid 40 m for Kerkez? Some are expecting to receive near half of that for Morton? The same lad who has played 1/ 2 games this season etc. Kerkez was arguably the best LB last season in the league, is young and has plenty of potential. Morton albeit isn’t a terrible player he's not great or good, hope the lad does well. I thought the same about Quansah but unfortunately with them types of players, you are playing a risky game asking for higher valuations.

I understand the club has to value some players higher due to age, potential etc. Understandably Harvey Elliott is another one of them for me who some reds may disagree? I think 50 m would be a fantastic fee for him, even without a buy back clause. I don't think he’s going to be a player who we will regret letting go, if anything i think its the perfect time to cash in with Wirtz coming in.

Im sure as Ed2 has pointed out Jones is happy to be a squad player, an that’s all i have ever viewed jones as. However with Elliott i would wish him well but i don't think he’s good enough and suits our system so the fee off 45 i think we would get is more than fine. Interesting to know what a few others think on Elliott? I would personally be happy to let go. If you can get a good transfer fee on him roughly around the same for nunez and we all know chiesa is going. Then i don't think if we bring in Hopefully Isak and CB, from here i don't think it will have been a bad summer financially and for the team.

{Ed025's Note - you are the voice of reason KK..
