If his contract is running out, do we take that contract on and just buy him from wolves? Or is a new deal a given as part of the transfer. Like, in NBA they trade players with less than a year on contract and that's seen as an asset as the player is serviceable but doesn't need to be committed long term.

I just read Nuno’s comments about Saiss being missing from the Wolves squad for the Palace game and it was word for word in certain aspects, the same comments he made when Jota was left out of the League Cup game before he signed for us in the summer window. Fingers crossed.

Time for Schmadtke to really earn his money and put a stop to any suggestion of this nonsense. If the signing of Szoboszlai made sense because he ticked all of the boxes, then they inverse would be true for Phillips. Such a deal would provide us with none of what we need, besides side stepping an issue with the home grown quota.

Need to keep Hendo. Need him to help the new signings integrate with the team, need him to help push the younger players! His personality on and off the pitch is priceless, his voice in the changing room etc! And Fabinho being mentioned also where's the old heads to help these players! going to struggle next season throwing new players in with youth and saying get in with it!

Think it's difficult at 33 to refuse that kind of contract which is a jackpot in itself.
I'm sure Klopp would already be thinking of phasing him out this season but as you said very vital for our dressing room.

I’m thinking this Caicedo bid may be a smokescreen! Did Pool know he only wanted Chelsea so put that huge bid in knowing he wouldn’t come? Did the owners do it to keep the fans quiet? Was it revenge for outbidding us with Lavia? If Chelsea sign both this is embarrassing for us and a complete joke what they’re doing with the FFP rules! This 20% sell on clause to City is going to cause problems. Saints are going to want to maximise as much as they can but he ain’t worth more. 1 season in the Prem and they want £50m. Unbelievable!

Great signing! But in my opinion in which I’m ha! I just think if we had £110m lying around wouldn’t Lavia at 19, homegrown etc for £50m and have a spare £60m for a defender which we badly need also?
