Hi EDS!
Just seen LFC up for sale again?
Is that true? I don't know how I feel about this now.

{Ed001's Note - they are looking for investors not a sale.}

Hold up - what have I missed? Has something been announced?

Think they are looking more at selling Pittsburgh Penguins (their NHL Team)

Honestly, as long as the club runs the way it's going, with strong investment when it's needed, it's hard to complain.

They have really grown this club from a dark place.

I'll never love an owner unless some die hard cash rich honourable fan takes over. But FSG have been great so far.

Of course they have made mistakes here and there. The forlough being the big one. But they backed down and overall, I must say, they are doing a good job. Mostly by not interfering too much.

God, look at west ham and Nottingham Forrest or Spurs or Manchester United (for different reasons) . We're ok with FSG. That's for sure.

So exactly what was said last year or was it the year before they wanted to open up to someone else investing in aswell.

Time for a whip round.

They've proved to be great owners. Fully agree with Davey. Some mistakes but few and far between. We could be in a boat with many others under far worse guidance so we are lucky. I wouldn't swap them for any of the other 18 PL clubs ownership. I don't know how Brighton or Bournemouth owners manage it, albeit at a different level and with transient players each and every season, but they seem to do a stellar job too, so a shout out to those also! . but I may be incorrect in applauding without knowing the insurance and outs there. Anyway FSG are the ones to beat IMO.

Anyone who remembers Hicks and Gillette will thank their lucky stars we got FSG.

What, I can't see news of this anywhere?

I can't imagine they'd be willing to sell after receiving no offers that matched their valuation two years ago.

We'd also be worth much more in a couple of years when we (hopefully) win a few more trophies with this influx of major signings, as opposed to right now.

Just can't see anything in this.

Maybe I’m a bit ignorant as I don’t know too much about other clubs’ owners, but surely we’ve got to be right up there with the best in the league? I agree with Davey and sg - we’re really fortunate. Things could have easily gone from bad to worse, but under FSG we’ve only grown year after year. They’ve consistently invested in the club, in one way or another.

I’d genuinely be gutted if they sold, because the grass isn’t always greener. That said, I can’t see them selling any time soon - they must be making good money from it and the project is clearly still moving forward.

Liverpool are not for sale.

10 Sep 2025 18:04:47
FSG in.

10 Sep 2025 20:07:57
sell a little piece whilst the value is at its highest, and growing?

10 Sep 2025 20:20:18
How about opening it up for 1,000,000 fans to buy £1000 worth of shares!

Im in.

10 Sep 2025 20:45:24
FSG is looking for investors in the Penguins as well, but if the right offer comes along they will sell.
Im originally from PGH and listen to the sports talk from there daily.

Ha ha LFC8. That was good!

10 Sep 2025 21:37:37
Ed02 was saying for years that FSG were always on the look out for investors. Nothing’s changed in that respect.

From the perspective of the well being of the club, I’d pick Shank’s arrival at number 1, and the arrival of FSG at number 2 and the work King Kenny has done for the club over decades both on and off the pitch, would be number 3.

11 Sep 2025 00:47:15
Didn't ages ago Ed02 say we'd been up for sale for a while but I don't think anything worthwhile has ever come of it?

@Salah -
From 2010-2015, FSG made a lot of mistakes as they learned the landscape of football - perfectly understandable.
From 2016 - present, they've been the best owners in the league, bar none, though Tony Bloom and a few others also do a lot of right by their clubs.

The only thing I wish they'd do is not try to take liberties in terms of trademarking, 'Project Big Picture', the Super League - in other words, actions that could not really be described as in good faith. Just rely on the power of a competitive LFC to make money rather than maximal extraction that leaves a sour taste.

While being in the minority, I've been saying for years that FSG have been great owners. Constantly upgrading both on and off the field. Look at the stands, look at the training facilities (with more to come as announced recently), look at Klopp being brought in, and look at the commitment to winning with this summer's player purchases. Yes, they've made some mistakes, but don't we all?

Regardless of whether you sell the entire club or just a part to investors, the starting point is always getting an evaluation for the entire club. It's then that you know what premium you can charge for a partial sale to investors. So when the club was "for sale" a couple years ago and only partial investors came in (Bluebird), nobody was wrong. FSG were going through the necessary process.

LFC is a "golden goose" for FSG, in my opinion. They've multiplied their investment incredibly well. And I don't think they mind the image and prestige of being the owners of one of the best football teams, in the most popular sport on the planet. So I doubt they'd sell completely. But partial sales let them maintain their majority control and still pursue their goal of expansion into other sports and other teams.

I wonder whether the changes at Tottenham may have triggered anything at FSG. I know QIA (PSG owners) are showing interest in a stake at Spurs.
