Seen a lot saying Leoni will be back training in January, does anyone know anything? Thought he was confirmed out for the season.

With the injury he had, beeing back in full training in a few months is some feat and pretty impossible.
{Ed001's Note - it is a very long rehab, so it would be very likely he would be back training then, but nowhere near ready to play. The muscle wasting along will take months to repair.}

Fake news.

It will take months for him to regain strength and more importantly confidence in his knee. So I believe it viable, but it will be highly monitored (knee) to see how well his recovery is going, good luck to the lad.

If he is back, then it would most likely be a continuation of his rehab, so gym work. No chance of pitch work, or even jogging outside, at this stage. An ACL rupture is usually 6 - 9 months, but as Rodri's injury has shown, it can be a lot longer if not managed properly.
We won't see Leoni again till next season's pre season. A real shame because he looked like the complete opposite of Konate this season, which is kinda what we need, right now. On course for MOTM on his debut, then an innocuous moment, and Boom, ACL rupture. Sucks for the lad, but hopefully it is a minor blip on what will be a great career at Liverpool.

Just hope he comes back from this. Bajcetic in the back of my mind.

Yeah, don't expect to see him play football until the new season at the earliest. Best to have low expectations.

I’ve had the same injury and I had over a year of physio. You can’t rush it am afraid.

I just hope he gets back on track and it doesn't derail the young lad's career as we've sadly seen so often.

Didn’t Zlatan fully recover from 2 separate ACL injuries in 7 months?
29 Nov 2025 17:13:58
People often misremember Zlatan's experience dealing with his ACL injury. He came back after 7 months, that is correct. But then he kept picking up injury after injury after that, even missing a 2 month stretch.
Zlatan was believing his own hype too much, and was especially fond of the memes that surrounded him, and so pushed himself to appease his own inflated ego. He was made to suffer for it, and missed a lot of game time.

Giovanni is on a You Tube video walking briskly without Crutches or any walking aids, going into the Ground for the Carabao Cup loss game versus Crystal Palace 29 October.
The true extent of the tear will have been noticed by the Surgeon foremost, hopefully he has had the slightest tear possible. Though like the posts above, rest is the best though his comeback looks quite promising for next season.
The first team malaise is spreading throughout the club Liverpool under 18s were well beaten at Kirby Academy by man united under 18s 7-0 earlier today! Severe Defensive problems seem the norm at the Club for every LFC teams this season?

I myself have suffered an ACL tear and there are many factors contributing to length of recovery.
I. e severity of tear,
Potential setbacks during rehabilitation and individuals ability to self heal.
With the advancements in treatment nowadays including cryotherapy which is a game changer during the healing process, then timescales can be reduced for sure.
But anything below 5-6 months would be miraculous.

With him being so young his bodies in a good position to repair quicker and better than van dijk and Rodri’s. Also nice he isn’t as important to the team as those two were to their respective clubs so I can’t imagine there will be as much of a push to get him back in too early.

So the younger you are the more likely you are to recover, irrespective of the amount of damage that may or may not have been done?
