Hello Ed's and reds!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's looking more and more likely Guehi will sign for Man City. What I'm hearing is they have advanced in talks and are willing to pay what palace are asking to get it done. The question lies with Guehi himself now, does he wait till the summer and stick to his word or does he jump ship before hand! That's remains to be the question.
But as for city and palace they are pretty much ready to deal.
Shame really as I thought he could have been good for us but again as my source has said it's 80/ 20 he goes to city. Still that slimmer of hope on my part.
If I get anything else I shall update when I can

I've kind of given up on us adding anyone meaningful to the squad until summer now. It's clearly a mess behind the scenes, older players becoming frustrated, etc
I'm treading water until summer when I hope more will become clear and we can get rid of Dickie Hughes and Slot and start again. Fingers crossed we make top 4. But my instinct says we won't.

Guehi won't leave Palace in Jan I wouldn't worry guys.
He'll join us in the summer I'm pretty confident of it.

TBH Neilydd it doesn't surprise me!
We're hardly mentioned in any way as of late even speaking to Guehi!
Perhaps we're still taking him at "his word" that he still wants to join us!

Shocked, no wait called it 4 weeks ago. Its obvious he's going to City. don't need sources, don't need contacts, its obvious. Liverpool are a bin fire right now and the board are happy with 2 fit CBS . Seasons been a catastrophe from minuet one and its going to get far worse .
We need 2 CBs this window who can start and we get nowt. Semenyo and Guehi were absolutely coming to us according to the ITK posters and now they will both be at City. Is was so obvious that would happen .

Sky bet or paddypower transfer specials will tell you that. City clear favourites. And surprisnly Arsenal second favourites. I really think we could miss out on champions league.

And why is it a mess behind the scenes? Just pure social medial supposition, unless you have any evidence to back it up? The evidence on hand to us normal fans is that Hughes played a blinder, and Slot got the players he wanted.
I think most of us thought this would be a transitional season. It takes a season for so many new players to pay off.
Sorry, but sometimes patience pays off.

It's funny how people lose their minds based on a rumour from an ITK that gets 90% of their rumours wrong. Some people are just looking for a reason to be angry.

City are 15/8 which hardly makes them clear favourites. We are 10/3 and Arsenal 12/1.
Going off those odds, it looks like it's most likely he'll stay at Palace for the rest of the season.

Fancy specifying a bookie to reflect a transfer status? I got 16's on Rodgers joining us years ago from Macca after all of the bookies dismissed it, which I think went from odds-on after he'd apparently turned us down. He insisted it would happen hence me throwing on a good few nicker.

Who thought it was a transition season? Most of the world had us down for walking the league after that window, absolute nonsense, anyone with eyes can see there's clear issues, Mo with the Mo thing told us that, also watching how clueless the tactics are and how disconnected the players on the pitch look tells us that not all is rosy.
Transition season, that's just excuse making.

I've not much idea about transfers but I wouldn't say talks were advanced unless the buyer had had quite a bit of encouragement from the player.

Guehi was disappointed he didn't join the reds in the summer.
He committed to staying with Palace for the full season to help them in Europe where they still have a great chance of going far in the ECL
He will stick to his word, he won't be at City, Liverpool or Arsenal by the end of the window.
Arsenal don't need him, best defence in the league already (apart from Ben White)
Will be us or City in the summer and money talks whether he is of Christian faith or not.
I still believe we have a chance but I also believe there is better CBs out there too.

after the midfield turnover in 2023, I expected a transition season. we didn't get it.
after the turnover in summer, I wouldn't have called it a transition season at the time, but I absolutely expected we may experience some wobbles.
we replaced our mentality monsters and pressing machines with delicate flowers who need time to blossom.

Who is to say we have or are going to go in for Guehi the way steve the quiff parish behaved in the summer LFC may not want to deal with palace . Going to an exercise class in the middle of transfer negotiation and returning with just on hour left on transfer day i would not deal with them .
Great supporters though had pleasure to be with some when they won the fa cup while on holiday in Greece crazy people.
