Hello all,

The club's main efforts are on Diomande, still with plenty of work to do on the legal complexities and overall package with RBL.

The club wanted it done last week, but issues kept popping up which I’m not going into detail on.

In the meantime, LFC are also mulling over a deal to re-sign Darwin Nunez on a free transfer.

Bouaddi is someone we’ve tracked for a long time, difficult deal as he’ll have his pick of the clubs.

Adam Wharton still liked along with Alex Scott. I suspect a deal isn’t too difficult to conclude for either (would be one of not both).

Whilst the World Cup is on, I wouldn’t put guarantees on anything transfer wise; it’s extremely tough as valuations go up and down like stocks and shares.

Busy time to be an agent.

Ta

Thanks for the update, Carra.

15 Jun 2026 15:25:04
Thank you, Carra.

15 Jun 2026 15:27:46
Hope we don't sign Nunez. Rubbish.

15 Jun 2026 15:27:52
Is right, Carra, hopefully they don't mull over Darwin for too long, get it done yosser.

15 Jun 2026 15:29:07
Excellent Carra, much appreciated.

I know people have their reservations, but I think Darwin would be excellent cover for the upcoming season for lw and cf. Isak won't be able to play 90 mins of every game, and Ekitike is injured.

Darwin being able to cover the left is a massive bonus too.

I know he misses more than he should, but I'd rather a player who can get into those positions than someone who is anonymous all match. On a free transfer, I don't see who else is better?

15 Jun 2026 15:29:37
It's gonna be a tough time on here if we have to wait until the end of the World Cup before we see some transfer action haha.

15 Jun 2026 15:39:45
Wharton and Scott are way too expensive for what they are, it's just English tax, and neither of them remotely fix the issues we have in midfield.

15 Jun 2026 15:40:26
Always love a Carra update!
The World Cup does mess everything up a little bit.
Patience will be needed for now, and the first few months of the season!

15 Jun 2026 15:48:32
Nunez on a free, great imo, I'd take him for his work rate and defending from the front. He annoys defenders and he's still got pace..... there's worse out there!!

15 Jun 2026 15:54:28
I'd love Nunez to come back. He was a cult hero and if he came back on a free transfer, the pressure of being a big money signing is gone and he comes back as a loveable back up striker in the Divock Origi mould. Origi was not a great player either, but we damn well loved him to bits all the same!

I remember wanting us to move on from Darwin last season, so long as an adequate replacement was found, and I think on paper we did that, although once we got Ekitike and the Isak deal looked like it was going to be well overpriced (which it was by about 30-40m), I thought it was probably best to actually keep Nunez as cover for Ekitike and just bringing in a top LW, I actually think that would have maybe ended up working out better for us, but it’s all hypothetical.

We got a decent-ish fee for Nunez and I think it was the best move for us to move on from him. Now, him returning on a free is a different ball game, especially with Ekitike and Isak being injury prone. I think it is a no brainer, so long as this means we move on from the likes of Gakpo and Chiesa (with Salah already gone). I think at that point it makes sense for us to bring in 1-2 top wide forwards and we are set in the attack, which imo massively downgraded from the season we won the league. Nunez is a different prospect under Iraola, he’ll still be clumsy and miss chances but from a business stand point he makes so much more sense than paying £40m for a back up striker that doesn’t have the same numbers as Nunez, or relying on Isak and Ekitike to stay fit and start every game, or god forbid Gakpo through the middle.

This is coming from someone that was desperate to move on from him as well, the transfer makes sense, so long as we get another 1-2 to bolster the attack, which we look poised to do unless we dilly dally like we did with the likes of Semenyo. 2 of Diamonde, Barcola or Bowen (cheaper alternative with PL experience and an English player I think we need more of in the team personally) would vastly improve our attack with Gakpo, Chiesa and Salah leaving.

Also on the midfield front, I agree with VV, neither Wharton or Scott fix our issues in midfield, unless one is brought in as a Macca replacement, and we still intend on getting a certified DM. A DM that can play that fast intense Iraola style should be a priority for the midfield, as talented as Wharton is, I’m not sure he’ll thrive in that style, unless he turns into Hendo somehow.

Also means funds can go elsewhere, and Darwin won't expect to be a starter. We do need cover for Isak, and Hugo is out for next season pretty much. Danns is not reliable.

15 Jun 2026 16:01:06
Darwin on a free is a no brainer.
Get his shots sorted and could bang a few in this season.
Rotate him with Isak.

15 Jun 2026 16:06:49
Darwin for free is a no brainer.
Knows the place, knows the league, knows what it means to play for Liverpool.
He misses more than he scores, but he gets himself, somehow, more chances. I am sure Isak is an upgrade from him, but I am not sure about Ekitike, who has a long-term injury anyway.

Darwin plus Diomande, and if we move on Gakpo, one more attacker, we should be fine.

I think we still need a proper DM in the mold of Rice, and someone who can hit fast/long passes.
I am quite disappointed in Wirtz, to be honest...

15 Jun 2026 16:08:52
Darwin and Diomande would be a good double signing. Then add a cm and rb!

15 Jun 2026 16:09:01
Cheers, Carra.

15 Jun 2026 16:13:27
Cheers for update, Carra.

I'd take Darwin in a heartbeat on a free, hardly injured and works his socks off. Yes he could score more but imagine him under Iraola. Think it could be a very clever signing!

15 Jun 2026 16:13:37
Thanks for the update, Cara.

Will Diomande still have a high chance of being recruited?

And does the midfielder target count as 2 of Wharton, Scott, and Vuadi?

I'm also curious about the target of the right running back.

Thank you always.

15 Jun 2026 16:16:41
Yes Darwin!! Not a clue what you just said, but I love it!

15 Jun 2026 15:28:31
Thanks Carra mate. Much appreciated. To be honest your and Robbo's updates are much more interesting than the farce that is going on called the World Cup.

I for one do like the idea of Nunez back on a free. Will bring the necessary bite to the team which was lacking last year. Also with Ekitike injured till may be end of this year, and then could take a few months to get match fit, we cannot rely on Isak alone. Nunez would look like a shrewd buy back, as he was also a fan favourite.

Ed, What are your thoughts on this news?

Cheers!

15 Jun 2026 16:28:23
It's a yes to Nunez from me, especially given that Ekitike could miss all of next season - we could shell out £50m to replace him or £0m. Feels like a no brainer.

I have to wonder how different last season may have gone had we kept Nunez.

We were barely ever a handful in attack last season, I know he missed lots of chances, but he did cause (sorry) quite a bit of chaos amongst defenders, and that may have helped us turn some draws into wins.

Give the lad another go, I say!

15 Jun 2026 16:31:39
Whatever you make of the player, selling him for £50M and resigning him 12 months later on a free is not bad business. Only stumbling block for me would be the wages. He'd be great cover whilst Hugo recovers, but we can't be giving him Saudi wages, even with the free transfer.

15 Jun 2026 17:05:56
I did read on a website, can't remember which, a few weeks back, that he changed agents last season, and the agent he left is not too happy about it and wanted to be involved in the deal.

15 Jun 2026 17:13:06
Nice one, Carra. An exciting summer ahead by the sounds of it.

15 Jun 2026 17:20:35
Cheers Carra.

15 Jun 2026 17:55:44
Thanks, Carra and Robbo, for providing rays of light as usual. We need one of these signings to come off now.

15 Jun 2026 18:57:46
Love to see Darwin back, great attitude, works hard and will be good cover whilst Hugo gets fit as well and then rotation, seems great but of business in my eyes.

15 Jun 2026 19:46:42
The fact Nunez had language barriers first time around wouldn't have overly helped communications with Klopp... Iraola being a native Spanish speaker may prove to be a help if Nunez does come back?

Could never fault his attitude, work ethic or application. A faster paced game under Iraola may play more to his instinctive nature... hopefully anyway!
