Romano saying that Palace are searching for a winger as they know we want Sarr. The bid for Sarr was £45m+£5m in add-ons last week, which was rejected. He goes on to say a lot of agents offering their clients to us as we are in need of a winger. Two days to go, let's see what happens.

I don't see that any of these players are better than Gakpo right now. And our crisis is right now.
I know Cody's really a LW, but playing RW he's seemed very promising to me. Better than an injured player (even if young and with potential) or an older forward who isn't a RW either (even if he always scores against us!).
I'm afraid Gakpo may well want to go, because he's probably well aware of the abuse he got all last season.
Not saying he played well (who did?), but if YNWA means anything, it should mean abuse for any player in a Liverpool shirt is totally off limits.
If lack of fan support drives away our (current) best forward option, I think we will all very much regret it.

Please go and compare Gakpo's defensive stats with that of Minteh's. Ask yourself, what does this Areola team really need.

Gakpo just stood there as a player ran past him with the ball in the last game we played, leading to a goal being scored.
Minteh has good tracking back and is more direct and pacey than Gakpo, and also is a great crosser.
All qualities Iraola will want from a right winger.

Simpleseoul, he is talking about tracking back, work rate and pressing. Minteh excels at that, and he is an elite dribbler (though I always thought dribbling was for babies?)... The biggest question mark over Minteh is end product, which ultimately is the most decisive factor for a forward.

I think Minteh brings similar attributes to Sadio Mane, although I know people will point out end product is lacking. He's only 21 and should only get better, and I think he massively helps out with Frimpong, and being a natural athlete helps, as the team is still lacking core fitness, but you can slowly see it improving.

There's plenty to suggest that Gakpo is better - more goals, more assists, very experienced at the top level (international and champions league), will command a larger transfer fee, has proven it at a big club (past seasons at Liverpool), and so on

Until we get a quality holding CM player, we are going to leak goals.
We need this sorted now, not at Xmas.
I expect this to be a transition season, but why do we seem to want to spend millions on players prone to injury!

Kerkez looks poor compared to when he was at Bournemouth due to Gakpo's lack of defensive contribution.
I like Gakpo and I would keep him as an option through the middle but I think that Iraola needs wingers who are more committed to working back to make the system work.
