LFC website currently showing 23 first team players, 3 of whom are Fabinho, Philips & Thiago. Assuming at least 1 or 2 of these move
on to new clubs as expected, presumably this suggests one of two things - Doak, Quansah et al are soon to be viewed as 1st team squad players or else we have some exciting news re incomings on the way.

I see Joe Allen has been released. Don't suppose there is any desire to bring the Scouse Pirlo home to give squad depth? I know our midfield now needs younger legs but always loved the Gary Mac signing and often wonder if similar signings could still be out there, although in truth we probably already have one already in James 'The Robot' Milner.

If Hendo, Fabinho and/ or Thiago exits came to fruition and Liverpool lacked experience and leadership, I wonder if (as an example) a player such as Wijnaldum becomes an option? As he is one who knows the Liverpool way, I would have thought he could be an excellent squad option if affordable. However, as a counterpoint to the excitement for 'cash' for our experienced players, I wonder if the acquisition of similar squad options are going to be further challenged and limited by a new cash rich league being established in Saudi Arabia. Current opportunities could pose a longer term issue given the race to the gulf this summer.

Exactly Flash. Keep the faith in recruitment team. Before Mane signed his record was 2 in 22 for Metz, 31 in 63 for RBS and 21 in 67 for Southampton. Good return but even for Saints, 8 of those 21 came in 3 matches. Lots of big forward names being shouted recently (Kane, Dembele, Son, Gnabry. ) but our greatest successes of recent times have been "Big potential = low price" That's our market which means the chat probably won't even include most of our targets.

Much happier that we are coming back to Anfield with a 2 goal lead than having to travel to Madrid with a 1 goal lead. Be interesting to see what Guardiola's priority is and how it affects his selections over next 10 days. Gut feel would be Champions League is Citeh's priority.
