Anything solid on Maxwel Cornet from Lyon? Those quotes in a Bein Sports France tweet seem so interesting:

"We met the president in January, and I said I wanted to extend [my contract], but talks were not successful. "

"Liverpool are a big club, any links are flattering. I'm under contract until 2021, but you never know in football so we'll see. ".

{Ed002's Note - Maxwel Cornet's agent has said that Liverpool have approached him - this has prompted questions to the player who is flattered. It would make some sense if Liverpool were to approach Lyon as they are looking to upgrade him anyway and will let him leave.}

Odd one that. Could Shaqiri be leaving, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Perfectly possible.}

2.) 28 May 2019 12:10:47
So Lyon want to upgrade but we want him. Doesn’t fill me with confidence!

{Ed001's Note - he is only young and would be a back up for cover, can Lyon afford to keep him in that role?}

3.) 28 May 2019 11:57:54
Oh I see. Intriguing. Thanks Ed002.

4.) 28 May 2019 12:41:14
Is he any good Ed001 in your opinion mate? Is he obtainable?

{Ed001's Note - as a back up he looks a good option, with age on his side to push on and improve to challenge for a regular place. Certainly obtainable.}

5.) 28 May 2019 13:05:52
Cheers mate.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

6.) 28 May 2019 13:54:31
Cornet would be a great signing. Will Lyon deal with us after the Fekir debacle of last summer? They are hard enough to deal with anyway!

7.) 28 May 2019 15:18:30
I hear Cornet isn't too strong and often easily licked, a bit like Arouna Kone.
99 mil is a bit much though, but will cost at least hundreds and thousands. Wed have to be flake-y to whip up that kind of money.

8.) 28 May 2019 17:21:51
I've heard that too Willo. Also I think Cornet crumbles if put under too much pressure.

9.) 28 May 2019 19:21:30
Please stop this before Iscream.

10.) 28 May 2019 20:12:52
This rumour is a bit wafer thin if you ask me.

I have another scoop for you. While he shows sprinkles of brilliance from time to time, he needs to show that he can be mint for 90 minutes. It would be great to see him melt our hearts on Sky Super Sundae. A lot is said about football players having hectic personal lives but he just seems to like to chill out. After all the talk, if he moves and fails to lives up to expectations, he'll get his just desserts.

There are only a few multi talented sports players like him. He was tipped to be a tennis player but he had a soft serve.

Whatever happens, if he becomes a red and doesn't make it, I'd still buy him a pint in with-a-spoons.

12.) 28 May 2019 21:12:15
What’s your sauce?

13.) 29 May 2019 07:32:27
Definitely not a candidate for the ballon carte d'or.

14.) 29 May 2019 12:01:40
Sounds like he's blowing his own trumpet to me.

15.) 30 May 2019 11:35:13
The world's his oyster and I can see him going to Aston Vanilla.

Hundreds and thousands of posts about this.

Any idea if Klopp would go back in for Gotze? Seems like it may be a shrewd move with Gotze finding form under Favre. Dortmund buying Brandt and Thorgan Hazard could make him a cheap option in the market as well. he's been in that false 9 and AM position at Dortmund, perfect cover for Firmino and other AM positions.

Personally I wouldn't see it as a wise move, his intensity to play at our pace has passed him. He's been unfortunate with his health issues, a talented player.

2.) 23 May 2019 10:58:14
Hes crap mate, not good enough for our level.

3.) 23 May 2019 13:58:31
Are you serious Salah? The guys fought back from a debilitating illness and was easily one of the top young players before 2014. The fact he’s been through what he has and returned to form with Dortmund shows what a strong character he is. Also he’s a firmino type, selfless and hard working and he will sacrifice himself positionally for the team. He’d be an excellent signing if fully recovered and if Klopp feels he can get him back to form. The guys 26 and hasn’t hit his prime yet he’s had a great career. He’s been playing very well this season too mate.

He can’t be that crap Salah Klopp debuted him at 17. Disappointed in you mate you’re usually very positive an happy.

4.) 23 May 2019 14:22:19
Sorry but he has some kinda muscular disorder. best to stay away from him.

5.) 23 May 2019 15:17:03
He’s fully recovered hence his 8 goals 7 assists in the bundesliga despite not playing much until after Christmas.

6.) 23 May 2019 18:01:07
Good player but slower that my dead grandad!

7.) 23 May 2019 21:14:17
Far from crap. don't see us going for him but with 1 year left i wouldn't be against it if we did.

8.) 24 May 2019 05:49:40
Considering Brandt isn't an option anymore and we've apparently lost interest in Fekir, I'd love to take Gotze as long as he doesn't command exorbitant wages and can stay fit. Especially considering that he can cover multiple positions (think he started off at RW for Dortmund before moving to CAM, and then played at CF for both Bayern and Germany and CM under Guardiola for Bayern at times), he'd be a good option as a rotational piece. Also to note is that he's played his best football under Klopp and they still maintain a good relationship.

9.) 24 May 2019 10:32:23
I'm absolutely serious lerchy, if you think he's a good player then I don't get it, he isn't and isn't good enough for our level. When we were trying to get top 4? sure, now? no chance.

Disappointed in me? lol I am positive, about Liverpool mate but not about a player I don't rate.
