Well to whomever that was worried. United are back!

Livebird31

1.) 23 Aug 2021 05:39:39
Was never worried about them lot. As long as Ole is at the wheel, their car will never take the right turn. He will keep driving the car towards every possible dead end.

2.) 23 Aug 2021 08:36:02
If Fernandes is taken out of that team they are at best, average. They are a collection of individuals rather than a team.

3.) 23 Aug 2021 09:47:19
But a collection of individuals that getting results. A board that invests into the squad each window. Expect Haaland to go there. Pogba will play his best season to guarantee a free transfer and huge payday to Paris or Juve. To just disregard them is foolish. Three of last seasons top four are improving their squads and first 11s. Let’s not just assume we walk into the top four or title challenges because VVD is back. He’s awesome, but like you say take out Bruno and Utd aren’t much. What about us if VVD, Hendo or Salah get taken out? Well we saw last season, struggle is the answer.
Let’s see how we do against the CL champions next week and their £100m summer investments. Even though their squad was already good enough to win the CL.
Maybe you’re also the type to discount Leicester and Spurs as teams to step up?

4.) 23 Aug 2021 10:05:38
Absolute nonsense. They have a bunch of decent players with a couple of exceptional ones - collectively they are absolutely a team who play for their manager, despite how tactically inept he is.

5.) 23 Aug 2021 10:30:52
Bet you they don’t finish in the top 4 this year.

I think us, city, Chelsea, Leicester and Tottenham are / will be in a Tottenham’s case are ahead of them when Nuno sorts them out.

The only reason they finished second last year was because we had massive injuries in key areas and it took Tuchel a while to bed in at Chelsea. Their position last year was false in the sense that they were lucky that others underperformed / were very unlucky.

The only genuine quality player they have are Fernandes. They have players with potential but Ole does a great job keeping that under control.

My personal favourite is Maguire - if you ever have half an hour to spare you can watch him turn round.

6.) 23 Aug 2021 10:49:24
That’s nonsense Grobs. Fabs plays instead of Hendo. VVD has been average so far Gomez and Konate are very good defenders. If Salah missed a few games the other front 3 would play. Forget Mane from last season that was just a blip.

7.) 23 Aug 2021 10:59:13
As much amusement as I derived from the Southampton result, we're two games into the season and I think it's too early to derive season long form from what we've seen so far.

On paper United are short genuine quality in central midfield, no one is convinced by either of their goalies, there are still questions at CB despite Varane, and they are reliant on Fernandes staying fit and Pogba staying interested to have any incisiveness in the top third.

But Suarez dragged us to a title challenge in 13/ 14 despite the fact that Rodgers had massive gaps in his tactical ability and knowledge, had us unable to control games and defending like an Under 12 side, and didn't get the best out of at least half the players he had. Not out of the question Fernandes could paper over the big cracks at United in a similar way.

I think we're stronger than them, Man City are stronger and possibly Chelsea too, but the game doesn't always work in simple terms of who has the stronger squad.

8.) 23 Aug 2021 11:41:23
Oh SomethingRed, it's definitely not too early! If they're struggling to control the midfield against Southampton then they're likely going to struggle against a few other teams as well and drop a fair more amount of points.

9.) 23 Aug 2021 13:30:23
Why oh why are we even bothering to talk about them🤦‍♂️.

10.) 23 Aug 2021 23:24:27
I would like to think that if we get into another defensive crisis that we wouldn't spend 2 months mucking around with midfielders playing at the back. That is a patch jobn you can do for 1 or 2 games, but is not sustainable as we saw.

I wouldn't be writing off manU so readily. it's just a draw. if they win next and we draw with chelsea then we're level. I get poking fun on a week to week basis but the leap to them having a deficiency as a club is a bit off for me.

18 Sep 2020 15:58:32
Talks of Diego jota now.

Livebird31

1.) 18 Sep 2020 16:08:00
As a DO replacement? Or?

2.) 18 Sep 2020 16:19:29
Jota would be a fantastic signing.

3.) 18 Sep 2020 16:23:54
Kia Jan Hooever apparently off to Wolves! Sweetener for Jota maybe?

4.) 18 Sep 2020 16:25:34
Looks like it's Jota - very versatile player but not as good as Timo in my opinion.

5.) 18 Sep 2020 16:03:23
Ed02 is there any truth in it? definitely need to sell some n-hg now.

{Ed002's Note - It is true that Ki-Jana Hoever may well join Wolves as Liverpool look to raise cash.}

6.) 18 Sep 2020 16:29:59
Hope so. quality finisher jota.

7.) 18 Sep 2020 17:06:17
Shame. I thought Hoever of the defender kids was the one with most potential.

8.) 18 Sep 2020 17:11:21
With Klopp Jota is going to be better than Werner @ kwkhong.

9.) 18 Sep 2020 17:24:24
Jota is a quality footballer and a sh*thouse in the Robertson mould. Dead happy with this.

10.) 18 Sep 2020 17:40:54
Crying when we weren't signing anyone and now crying when we are.

27 Jul 2020 03:36:29
Ed02 any chance we may target ismaila sarr now as Watford got the drop? can it work? as a winger for us 🤔🤔🤔.

Livebird31

{Ed002's Note - Ismaila Sarr (RW) has had a disrupted season after moving from Rennes and might become available with Watford being relegated. He would make a good replacement for Shaqiri but (a) would Sarr want to limit his playing time to that which Shaqiri gets, (b) he is not Home Grown, (c) he would block Harvey Elliott's progression, and (d) like the last few players asked about, would depart for AFCON when it happens as he is Senegalese.}

1.) 27 Jul 2020 11:55:14
Sorry if this has been done, but why has Shaq not got regular game time? I've heard it's his attitude, and that's been an issue that's followed him his whole career, with Stoke team mates (apparently? ) particularly fed up when they got the drop.

When he's been on the pitch, he's looked good.

{Ed002's Note - He is not first choice, has had the nappy rash issue and a couple of other injuries.}

09 Aug 2019 20:50:21
Ed01 can you please update as soon as you know about Alisson's injury.

Livebird31

{Ed001's Note - he will have a scan tomorrow, so won't know anything for sure until then though they think it is probably a calf strain.}

1.) 09 Aug 2019 22:12:24
Calf strain, 2-4 weeks usually. let's hope it's not that bad. Michael Owen at half time was trying to say that it could be his Achilles. if it was his Achilles he wouldn't have walked off the pitch that's for sure.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 22:29:41
my initial fear was ACL. I hope it is "just" a calf strain.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 22:30:16
Klopp just confirmed its calf. Not sure if it’s a strain or tear though.

4.) 10 Aug 2019 00:49:27
I hope he takes the necessary amount of time to heal and not rush back.
Don't want him to do a Kevin Durant.

5.) 10 Aug 2019 02:28:56
he can definitely walk off the pitch the way he did with a ruptured achilles.

6.) 10 Aug 2019 02:57:40
I feel it's a muscle tear opposed to strain. Klopp described him as feeling like he had been hit, when you tear a calf muscle it feels like a sharp pain you'd get if someone smacked it with a stick. I'm worried he's facing a spell out.

7.) 10 Aug 2019 05:23:38
Har_red - definitely mate. unless it's a minor strain that just needs rest and a massage (unlikely) then I would be happy if the prognosis is a month on the sidelines.

8.) 10 Aug 2019 06:04:08
Faithinworks yeah a month to 6 weeks would be realistic if it's torn. The fact he's a GK may have quicker recovery time as regular sprints and constant running at high tempo won't be essential. Hopefully get good news from scan today.

9.) 10 Aug 2019 08:22:42
Calf injuries can by dodgy enough. You think it's fine until you maybe sprint or put your boot thru the ball. I'm hoping he has felt a strain which might only be a few weeks, but he did seem to be hobbling pretty bad which, to me would indicate something worse 🙄.

10.) 10 Aug 2019 11:45:36
Judging by the explanation given ref something hitting the back of his leg, I had exactly the same and it was a ruptured Achilles. Hope not but if it is we won’t see him back this side of xmas at the earliest.

11.) 10 Aug 2019 16:43:36
He walked off the pitch but it was reported he left anfield in a wheelchair. Looking likely a tear as opposed to a strain.

12.) 10 Aug 2019 18:18:35
Out 4-6 weeks, Lonergan to get a contract.

13.) 10 Aug 2019 21:51:36
They are the worst ones, where it looks like he's done f all but goes off injured. Gutted because I'm going Turkey I was confident of smashing Chelsea, have to have a look at them tomorrow against those lot.

14.) 11 Aug 2019 07:21:05
I'm just relieved we have Adrian as backup rather than Mignolet.

15.) 11 Aug 2019 10:11:11
Red Raw- You’re only saying that as you haven’t seen Adrian mess up as much as Mignolet. He’s as bad, probably worse than Migs.

16.) 11 Aug 2019 11:22:59
Cobra666, I'm just glad Adrian can kick the ball properly. Mignolets kicks were abysmal and looked like they were going in slow motion they were that bad.

17.) 11 Aug 2019 11:36:26
Mignolet has never in his life been able to play from the back like the 60 minutes Adrian was in goal the other day. already a big improvement for the way we want to play.

18.) 12 Aug 2019 07:54:25
Isn't it ironic that our keeper gets injured and not a player like Robbo.

13 Dec 2018 14:00:20
Has ejaria come back from loan? personally i eont understand it if thst happens heard rumours of that so asking ed01.

Livebird31

{Ed001's Note - he has not been playing well, so Rangers would happily send him back.}

1.) 13 Dec 2018 16:56:42
I thought he was playing loads and doing a good job? Sure I've read lots of good reviews.

{Ed001's Note - not since the first couple of games. He is playing because they have to play him, but he is not a good enough player. He is all fancy flicks and no sense.}

2.) 13 Dec 2018 17:42:16
Oh right interesting, to be fair I didn't see him as a player who would make the step up to the lfc first team, similar to Ryan Kent I guess. Probably end up a half decent championship player.

Well I want to be the first to welcome him then! Welcome to Liverpool Luis Diaz!,

Hope he signs or I'll loose face lol.

Livebird31

1.) 28 Jan 2022 08:18:00
The one player I was genuinely hoping we'd sign amongst all targets. I'm not saying a thing! 🤞🤞🤞🤞.

{Ed0666's Note - what’s your impression of him mate?

16 Oct 2021 13:45:51
My god I can't even do the things he does even my dreams. MO SALAH!

Livebird31

{Ed0666's Note - it’s as if he’s paid the Watford defense to sit on their arses.

1.) 16 Oct 2021 15:07:20
Well Ed0666 Rose had to take the weight off his feet somehow.

{Ed0666's Note - Rose wouldn’t have looked out of place with a duvet and a pillow on the pitch mate. You’re absolutely bang on mate he got schooled.

2.) 16 Oct 2021 15:19:09
Rose looked a bit like a bear who was preparing for the hibernation. Pack on those pounds lad.

3.) 16 Oct 2021 15:56:18
I couldn’t believe it when I saw him. He would struggle with over fifties walking football.

12 Sep 2021 17:58:54
Stay strong Harvey! Ynwa.

30 Aug 2021 06:27:17
I saw this somewhere.

The craziest part of the transfer window is that

In a widow where messi, genie, donnarummma, hakimi, Ramos joined psg
Lukaku and possibly kounde joined chelsea
Ronaldo Sancho and varane joined United
City spent 100m on grealish.

. the highest spenders are still arsenal!

Livebird31

1.) 30 Aug 2021 08:58:26
And it’s really working out well for them.

2.) 30 Aug 2021 09:09:56
And didn’t they borrow all that money to cause themselves a future financial issue just so they could sit bottom of the league with 3 defeats from 3 and looklike a dreadful team from what I’ve seen.

{Ed014's Note - with dreadful owners, dreadful executives and a dreadful manager. They’ll get everything they deserve!

3.) 30 Aug 2021 09:16:06
I feel very sad for arsenal. It almost seems there owner has a genuine hate for the club.

4.) 30 Aug 2021 10:36:56
Edu and Arteta, need to be shown the door. Maybe even give Kronke an offer he can't refuse. There's a massive disaster brewing at that club. Started with their mismanagement of Ozil, and it's been a steady stream of bad decisions ever since.

No dybala please. he's spent like 30-40% of his time in Juve with the meds. don't need to add to Thiago on that list esp since we definitely are going to move one of the front three now.
