Evening Eds, do you see a move for Dani Olmo likley in Jan or is that purely speculation? Also hows the development of Curtis Jones and Bobby Duncan coming along, are they highly rated within the club?

Cheers and have a good Xmas.

redbutcher

{Ed001's Note - is he not going back to Barca?

I don't know about Jones, but Duncan is highly thought of, both in and outside of the club.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you too.}

1.) 24 Dec 2018 22:38:29
I like Duncan as well and it would be special too get as many Scousers with quality in the squad as possible Jones included, I like the look of glatzel as well, merry Xmas everyone all the very best.

Evening Ed’s. Was just wondering if there had been any interest in Gerard Deulofelu at Watford? Looks a different player In the central role.

Cheers.

redbutcher

{Ed001's Note - not from us there hasn't. I am not sure what you mean by different as he still just shows the odd flash of ability mixed in with weeks of useless laziness.}

1.) 16 Dec 2018 08:08:09
Match of the day fever . Even crap players play a blinder every so often.

2.) 16 Dec 2018 09:17:11
A shame about his work ethic as I’m sure there was clamour on the boards a few years back for him before he went to Everton permanently, IIRC?

{Ed001's Note - probably, only because most people only saw he was at Barca and never actually knew anything other than what was on YouareaTube.}

3.) 16 Dec 2018 21:27:47
I watched a lot of the under 21 Spanish matches because Suso was in the team. Gerard Deulofeu Really did stand out in that squad and looked like a world beater, but others who were in that team seem to have surpassed him.

Hi Ed’s, Ed002. Leverkusen have been abit of a shock package this season with some of ther younger talents. Brandt, Bailey, Henrichs and mostly Kai Harvertz. Can you see any clubs, Specifically Liverpool Making any attempts for these players?

redbutcher

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry I am not going to get involved in transfer matters. You would do better asking on the European pages.}

1.) 02 May 2018 12:52:36
Ed002 just so we all know going forward are you not going to get involved in any transfer talk about Liverpool?
Just that way it saves everyone from asking a question that might be better off being asked to another Ed
I hope you carry on as your info was informative and near to the point.
If you don't then many thanks for all the times you did in the past.

2.) 02 May 2018 12:58:05
Site for sore eyes! Welcome back Ed2.

3.) 02 May 2018 15:10:46
Really hope you are back ed002.

4.) 02 May 2018 15:21:48
"site for sore eyes"? - Optrex :)

5.) 02 May 2018 15:58:26
Welcome back, Ed02. Hopefully your return is permanent. Let's have a virtual glass of red to celebrate your return! I am sure that you will be cheering us on tonight, so all's good. Take care.

6.) 02 May 2018 16:44:32
I don't think he ever left, I just don't think he's willing to give transfer info for us, which I understand, he was doing us a favour for free yet the minority ruined it for the rest of us. Either way, as long as your well and good Ed2, that's all what matters mate. I applaud you for your efforts in informing us about all the previous transfers etc. One can only hope we get such a kind act from you in the future again.

7.) 02 May 2018 21:27:31
It could be that there’s nothing on which to report. There doesn’t have to be an update to transfer dealings everyday, especially when the window is closed. We’ve been spoiled by the information we get from this site and I think expectations get a little much at times.

8.) 02 May 2018 22:26:18
Welcome back ED002.
Will look forward to reading your informative replys once more.

9.) 03 May 2018 07:38:13
Ed002, as I live and breathe. Welcome back sir.

{Ed002's Note - It seems like some sort of conspiracy.}

10.) 03 May 2018 14:19:39
It always is. I blame the Russians.

11.) 03 May 2018 17:28:01
Lets hope we don't blame the Ukranians come May 26th.

Hi eds, massive fan of this page, but only just registered an account aha. Got a little bit of a rumour gossip, thought I'd share. My cousins stepdads brother (long one I know aha) he's a physio at melwood Paul Squires. He was telling my cousins that a Benjamin Henrichs is being talked about quite abit amongst scouts. He's a fullback, thought I'd share anyway. Have a good day!

redbutcher

1.) 22 Jun 2017 16:25:14
German international, Benjamin Henrichs? The one who signed a contract extension at Bayer Leverkusen last month?

2.) 22 Jun 2017 16:43:34
Like I mentioned, scouts are just talking about him. But yeah, the German International.

3.) 22 Jun 2017 18:47:00
Is he any use? . I've not seen him play at all.

4.) 22 Jun 2017 18:56:24
I don't know mate, think he's under 23 and first choice full back at Leverkusen. I don't know if there's any interest in him or that's he's just highly rated amongst our scouts. Any clarity eds?

5.) 22 Jun 2017 20:31:38
We'll sign his brother, jimi.

Ed’s, bit of a different question.

How did clubs make it aware that their player is up for sale?

Say for example (purely hypothetical guys) Klopp decides he wants to sell Henderson completely out the blue. How does he make it aware to other clubs that this player is up for sale?

Cheers Eds.

redbutcher

{Ed002's Note - Ad in the Liverpool Echo - Donkey's for Sale.}

1.) 28 Jan 2019 22:08:26
Only for Everton players Ed.

But I would imagine it's done through the players agent.

2.) 28 Jan 2019 22:10:47
They’d be queuing for miles outside Goodison Ed! 😉.

{Ed025's Note - thats a terrible thing to say...about donkeys..

3.) 29 Jan 2019 05:05:12
They’ve resorted to donkeys since all the pit ponies died 😟.

4.) 29 Jan 2019 07:01:30
The donkeys for sale posters should be plastered all over Goodison. There aren't any at LFC that will be with us beyond August.

{Ed025's Note - so you think there are some at anfield now IB?...give us a couple of names please mate..

5.) 29 Jan 2019 08:38:31
We are talking about donkeys Ed025, so let's talk more about Everton's players (or donkeys) . If there are any at LFC, they will be gone in the summer. Klopp will not entertain fools now that we are back challenging for major trophies.

{Ed025's Note - i did not realize you had any donkeys IB, the way you lot talk every player at the club is world class so that surprises me, yes we have a load of them mate and i make no apologies for any of them and thats why we are where we are, i wont ever defend players who dont give their all..

6.) 29 Jan 2019 08:02:44
😂😂😂 Ed 2 - you made me spit my coffee all over the place. Classic 👍.

28 Feb 2018 19:54:18
Ed002. With Can off, could you see us making a move for Winks? Young, energetic, good passer. Obviously not a like for like player but one who is looking very promising. Would Tottenham listen to offers if a bid or interest was made?

redbutcher

{Ed002's Note - no he is just a random player the club has no interest in

1.) 01 Mar 2018 12:19:40
Nope, not what we need. He's at the start of his career and we need more established players to get to the next level.

31 Jan 2018 09:15:02
Ed’s and you all reds. Couldn’t post a reply to my previous post. But just want to say a massive thanks to all who posted and especially the ed, he was over the moon. Il try and get a picture of him and the team uploaded aha. Once again thanks lads.

redbutcher

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, the lad has taste. So who would he go for at left back?}

1.) 31 Jan 2018 09:36:54
Bless your newphew mate, I just searched for the post you did and he certainly knows his stuff doesn't he? good lad :) tell him to study hard and aim to be a scout! but only for us lol.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 14:21:35
hes obsessed with football, watches european, mls the lot. comes out with a player who i've never heard off and can tell you how many goals, caps etc etc they've got for club and country.

ahaha Ed sensitive subject he's a big fan of Robertson, think that position is nailed down in his eyes.

{Ed001's Note - I was assuming as the replacement for Moreno, an older head to cover until one of the 2 youngsters is ready.}

3.) 31 Jan 2018 15:12:51
the young fella knows his stuff, I am a big fan of Robbo too, and he is 23 yrs old, and will continue to improve, left back is a hard position to cover,
well done to your nephew .

30 Jan 2018 17:39:59
Hello Ed’s, bit of a strange one to ask; my little nephew loves his football (more importantly Liverpool) and is obsessed with all these transfer sites. Only 11 and struggles with autism, he’s asked me to ask yourselves and anyone else who’d like to have an opinion on what you think of his transfer targets on his Liverpool fifa save.

Hysaj
Leon bailey
Timo werner
And pjanic.

If you don’t want this on the site then I understand, he just wanted to know your guys opinions on them. If you don’t post it can you try and keep the comments kind and supportive, like I said he loves these sites and is only 11. Many thanks guys.

redbutcher

{Ed001's Note - Hysaj, good player, like him at Napoli, very good going forward.

Bailey has been arguably the best player in Germany this season. He is going to be a truly sensational player.

Werner is a talent and a half with pace to burn, but is more than just a speedster. I rate him a lot.

Pjanic always looks a bit slow and weak on first glance but he is far from either. Decent passer of the ball who I like a lot and would be an upgrade on what we have.

I would take those 4 all day long. Your nephew has made good choices there.}

1.) 30 Jan 2018 18:18:16
He knows his stuff! Bailey is explosive and has intelligence that a lot of young players lack I’ve noticed, felt like we missed a trick when he went to Bayer love Timo too lighting quick personally reminds me of a young Torres.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 18:29:35
High praise for Bailey.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 18:31:58
Tell him to get his defence sorted first mate and good luck to him.

Sign of a great manager apparently, improve from the back first.

At least he won't be able to tap players up :)

4.) 30 Jan 2018 18:32:26
Seen Werner a few times, seem to be a bit Salah esque in the sense he gets lots of chances, just doesn't seem to finish as many as you'd think.

5.) 30 Jan 2018 18:37:51
OP, your nephew is a genius in the making. All those players would be welcome at LFC.

6.) 30 Jan 2018 18:56:30
Can LFC hire your nephew as a scout?

7.) 30 Jan 2018 19:15:46
your nephew needs to have a chat with Klopp, both would learn something, great the young fella has football in his life .

8.) 30 Jan 2018 20:19:08
Get your nephew to Anfield quick.

9.) 30 Jan 2018 23:47:32
Well, I'm sure that the LFC scouts are well aware of the quality of these players BUT the fact that an 11 yr old who struggles with autism, knows this much is quite impressive. I bet he gets it from his smart uncle.

10.) 30 Jan 2018 23:53:26
Redbutchers nephew - YNWA.

22 Jan 2018 12:21:28
Eds, all the talk of a Coutinho replacement has gone away for the time-being, remember Lanzini and more recently 'James' from Bayern (madrid L) being linked. However surprised Nabil Fekir hasn't been linked to us as of yet or Max Arnold, both performing well in their respective leagues and have been for the past couple of seasons.

Now obviously i am just name dropping and i haven't seen any links to these prior, just curious as to if you fella's in the know might of heard something?

On a separate note, i know i'm peppering you with questions, but i'm seeing a lot of negativity directed towards Lallana, now i got to Anfield frequently, last season he was immense, so far off the little game time i've seen him play he hasn't looked to bad, still the most technically gifted player in our squad. When we attack he's always fasted on the turn to direct the attack and always wants ball to feet. I think if he was to go he'd be a very pricey an difficult player to replace. thoughts?

(dont be too brutal in the response guys)

redbutcher

{Ed001's Note - something about what? Do you mean general links to those players or specifically us? Or are you asking about genuine interest rather than media links and, in which case, do you mean interest from us or general interest?

Lallana is hardly that difficult to replace considering how little he has played so far this season (200min) and yet we have been a lot better than when he was playing last season. Suggests to me he has been pretty much replaced already and he needs to show that he deserves to be kept. On his day he is a fantastic, technical footballer, but he is not likely to be first choice next season unless he plays at his best every week.}

1.) 22 Jan 2018 13:01:07
I think Lallana much like Sturridge and maybe even Henderson has been injured quite a lot recently and the team has just carried on and been much better without them in it
which is unlucky for them and to get back in it much like Ed001 said they would pretty much need to be playing at there peak powers every week to warrant a place in the first 11.

2.) 22 Jan 2018 14:18:35
Hopefully we will never be linked with Arnold ever. This guy could play for a bottom table side but doesn't have to closest ability to either play for liverpool or strenghten the squad in any part.

3.) 22 Jan 2018 15:21:38
Arnold is a quality player. I've kept an eye out for him for 4 years now and he is certainly good enough to play in our side.

Not only is he a set piece specialist, but he is lethal from anywhere inside 35 yards on that left foot of his. He is the dictator in Wolfsburgs midfield at just 23 years old.

If you doubt his ability to play at a higher level, i suggest you look back to when Kevin De Bruyne was there, and the two of them caused carnage. One year they ran Bayern close for the title. Sadly for Arnold, his star team mates have all been poached. He easily has the quality to step up a level though. He hits the ball so clean and his passing is so ambitious out from the back.

He reminds me a bit of a young Xabi Alonso, before Xabi had nailed the defensive side of the game. Whether or not he ever hits the heights Xabi did is another thing entirely though. Alonso improved in so many aspects by so much, and i think you have to put that down to the top class coaches he worked with; Rafa, Del Bosque, Mourinho and Guardiola. At 23 years old it is way too early to write Max Arnold off though. So many players don't really fulfil their potential until 25-27 years old, and under a top coach with quality players around him, he could thrive.

Poor Liverpool team, how can you say it's not? We have very little class in depth? We have a defence that a mid table team wouldn't be proud of? Wake up our team is a myth. We have a very good attack. Miles off the pace. We haven't won a trophy in the last 5 years? Poor side maybe harsh in some people's eyes, but everyone can agree with under achieving as a better adjective. I know what I've said is very negative. But when you pay your money to watch from the stands week in week out, you have the right to state your views.

Have I really just seen someone ask what's the difference between Woodburn and Max Meyer? A regular in the Schalke side and Germany, then a lad who rarely fractures for a poor Liverpool side? Jesus, I know Woodburn has potential but don't say silly things like that.

Good move for him, not good enough for a team wanting to challenge for cups and titles. At 23 you should be established, not making 10 apps a season.

So, we keep a player who has no desire to be at the club anymore? When we could have 100mil? Even if we over pay on a player we have more than enough time to bring someone in. Stop panicking, let the lad go live his dream move. Klopp we have a list of players available to fill his void.

Why don't you rate Can? I'inconsistency yes, but so does phill. When he's running with the ball for a lad who's a fair lump he's fairly agile and is hard to knock off the ball. Il get stuck I know but I see Hendo as the weak link.

I don't like that idea of Origi going out on to the wings. I pay my money at the turnstiles so I have the right to say I don't rate Origi. I don't think he does enough. Always late arriving to the ball and switching on and doesn't close down play in my opinion. So putting him on the flanks because he can't muscle in on the central role, is a bit of a kick in the teeth to Woodburn and other young players on that left side who we have in abundance.
