Looks like we dodged the Adams Traore bullet!

Thank Fowler for that! VVVV will be well pleased.

Still dodging the Salah and Mane contract bullet also.

3.) 24 Jan 2022

If jurgen and conte rate him, there has to be something there.

4.) 24 Jan 2022
24 Jan 2022 22:53:44
I must have missed something, what is VVVV's opinion of Adama Traore?

5.) 24 Jan 2022
24 Jan 2022 23:35:28
Klopp is an enigma, and a compli8cated man to understand sometimes. I remember one summer, Origi had put on a lot of muscle and Klopp had said in a pressie that he didn. t think it was necessary and would probably impair the player a bit. Even hinted that it had to come off. And yet on the other hand, he favors another player, Traore, who is all muscle and not much of anything else. We've seen Traore under 3 different managers and I don't think there has ever been any change. How much could a Conte or Klopp do?

{Ed0666's Note - Adama Traore was born with a 6 pack and traps the size of a house so there’s the difference.

6.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 00:17:27
And Traore is quick; very quick.
He would offer more than Ox and Minamino, imo.

7.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 00:41:26
All conte has done is bought spurs there version of victor moses!

Yes he is very quick but that's it usain bolt would offer more in goalscoring situations.

The OX has just scored in back to back pl games, when has Adama ever done that?

The players career stats are truly appalling and Lfc should steer well clear of this kind of mediocrity if we want to continue to challenge Man city.

8.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 00:52:43
I like the idea of Traore if Klopp could improve the end product but I don’t think there is any substance to a statement that he offers more than Ox and Minamino. These are two players that in recent posts have been spoken about as being disposable to raise cash in sales or simply not good enough for LFC. Both players on limited game time in the last few weeks have had more of an impact up top than Traore in the whole season so far so it doesn’t make sense to me. Perhaps he would be better in a better team? Not sure though. I do get it, there is talent and skill there, but it’s no good running the length of the pitch in 3 seconds skinning every player while your at it if your just going to spaff the ball into the stratosphere, entertaining as that might be. I want LFC to win trophies, not undesirable Guiness work records.

9.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 01:19:06
Hasn't traore just scored in back to back games too.

10.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 02:21:34
I wish he wouldn’t oil himself up.

{Ed0666's Note - That’s what Eds 001 wants me to do when I visit him at his flat….

11.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 06:33:45
Magical-VAR just disallowed the one against Brentford.

12.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 07:13:34
Don’t think so. Adam’s has scored one goal and made zero assists this season in all comps unless I am missing something. Ox has scored 3 times and made 2 assists. Minamino has scored 6 times and made one assist. I mean even Keita and Thiago have scored more goals than him.

13.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 07:22:23
Traore has only 1 goal this season, not a good season average I think we should stick with the ox and minamino they have more goals this season than Traore has in the Last 3 seasons.

14.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 09:07:28
For such a crap player our team weren't half in panic mode everytime he got the ball. Maybe one of the reasons his stats are bad is cos teams go out of their way to hack him down as quick as possible to stop him getting up a head of steam. its certainly what we did to him.

15.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 10:00:41
The slander on Ox and Mino is becoming desperate to the point of the utter ridiculous now. Ox and Mino have contributed a ton this season already BUT it simply will NEVER be enuff for some on here. As they say, "There is none more blind than the one who refuses to see".

Rigsby, Ox and Mino have scored more goals than Adama in all comps. this season and have helped us stay the course this season in the absence of Salah and Mane as well as in the EFL Cup where Mino is the leading scorer with 5 goals. Now tell me how a guy like Adama with less goals and less assists better than both those players? I'll wait.

16.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 10:19:55
ArAy, wasn't that Joe Gomez who put on all the bulk and Klopp said something like 'we don't need bodybuilders at the club'. Either way, I too was thinking about that when we were linked and wondered if we were to sign him, if Klopp would make him trim down.

17.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 13:37:08
Slander?! 😂
I think Traore would offer more to Liverpool than Ox and Minamino do.
I'm not talking about what Traore offers Wolves. I don't know what Ox and Minamino would offer Wolves either.
If anyone thinks Ox and Minamino have offered a ton to Liverpool this season, I will respectfully disagree. They are average squad players and I think Traore would offer more of a threat as an attacking squad player.
There are reasons that Traore hasn't been playing much and there are reasons that Ox and Minamino haven't been playing very much.
They are all easily left out but, for me, one is far more dangerous than the other two.

18.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 14:06:43
Rigsby, define dangerous? We have 13 players with more goals than Traore, and 21 players with more assists.

I respect your opinion, but it doesn't hold up to even basic analysis. Surely "dangerous" is defined by how many goals you score or create?

19.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 15:47:11
I would much rather Traore in our squad than Minamino.

20.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 17:27:54
Definition of danger -
The cause, possibility or likelihood of harm etc
Traore is most definitely ‘dangerous’ to the opposition in the football sense imo.

21.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 18:09:44
Traore has more pace and power than Ox and Minamino. He runs with the ball better than them.
His stats are not good at all but he isn't playing much in a team that is more defensive than most. Wolves have scored 19 goals and conceded 16 this season.
People can think that Ox and Minamino are more dangerous players than Traore but I disagree. Traore wouldn't oust any of our front three but neither would Ox or Minamino.
Can anyone explain the 'tons' that Ox and Minamino have done this season.

22.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 18:38:44
The owners keep doing bullets spending anymore! Do a great job of that 👍.

23.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 19:07:45
Possibly dodged the Luis Diaz bullet as well.

24.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 19:41:28
Stuie, you could well be very right. It's been a couple of years, and maybe the age is catching up with me.

25.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 20:13:21
I won’t lie. The news of Spurs going for Traore did make me happy. If they can sign Dembele and Sanches too, that would be great.

26.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 20:39:22
Considering Traore is a small fish in a relatively small pond he manages to create a lot of discussion and tension on the Liverpool fans forum, particularly for someone who has never played for us and hero fully never will.

The difference between Ox / Taki and Traore is the first have a degree of ‘football intelligence’ whilst Traore can run very quickly. Without doubt I would have the two we have, despite their flaws, every day of the week.

{Ed025's Note - the 3 of them are quite non-descript for me WDW, about as average as you can get mate..

27.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 21:29:36
Traore has delusions of being average, Ed025.

28.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 22:43:34
Fair enough comment Ed025, certainly Taki lacks physical presence and the ability to change the course of a game. Traore looks and plays like a sprinter who has wandered onto a footy pitch by accident. Ox, imho, is the best of the 3. - had the potential to be very useful but got side-tracked at Arsenal and was just showing signs of fulfilling his potential when we played Roma. He has a football brain in his head and can do a job (at times good job) but he won’t go as far now as he looked like he might of when he signed for Arsenal.

{Ed025's Note - ox is the best of the 3 imo WDW, but i think that injury put paid to him ever being more than a squad player mate..

29.) 25 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 22:46:46
Traore doesn't have much football sense, that's true. But does the Ox?
Minamino might have but we never get to see it because he gets knocked off the ball before he has chance to do anything.
Not one of them is real footballer but one of them is a real athlete.
Even if he can't do it for 90 minutes 😂.

{Ed025's Note - he is a good athlete rigsby, which is why he should really perform on an athletic,s track rather than a football field mate..

30.) 26 Jan 2022
25 Jan 2022 23:18:24
And the Ox should perform on TikTok with his wife and Minamino should be on the bottom weight in the first at Haydock Park 😂.
To be fair, Ox might have been ok had he been luckier with injuries.
I don't mind Minamino but he's too lightweight and without the pace to get himself out of trouble.
The best thing about him is that he cost next to nothing.
Does anyone get excited when Minamino or Ox come on as subs?
I don't.

31.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 09:29:51
I'd get even less excited about Traore coming on that I do about Minamino, tbh.

In the last season and a half, Minamino, who you don't rate, has scored 12 goals. Traore has 3. Both predominantly play as a winger or forward.

It's not a case that Troare's goal return isn't good, it's that Traore's goal return is basically non-existent. Origi has outscored him 2 to 1 and Taku's outscored him 4 to 1. And whilst Traore isn't always first choice at Wolves, he's probably played at least as much football as Taku and Origi put together, probably more.

And this isn't just because Wolves are bad or too defensive btw. Leaving aside that when he does get goalscoring chances at Wolves he usually fluffs them, this guy has never scored goals anywhere. His best goal return any season is 6. His scoring rate for his entire career is less 1 goal in 10 games. Virgil van Dijk scores more goals than that. And he certainly doesn't offer assists to make up for it. I don't know what Conte sees in him (I suspect he'll play right wing back) or Klopp for that matter. And I don't really care either. If we're going to rely on "well [insert manager here] rates him", we might as well stop talking about any player. Because some manager somewhere will probably rate him.

I find it frankly mind-boggling that we deem Minamino not good enough, criticise Firmino for not scoring enough goals, Origi for being too laid back and are talking about Mane being a downward slope and yet Traore, who isn't fit to lace the boots of any of those players, is seen as the solution by some fans because he can dribble and run fast? No good if he never does anything with it.

32.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 15:15:39
Agree with every word you said there, Something Red. Spot on.

33.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 15:47:51
Who said Traore was the solution?
I just don't see Ox and Minamino as the solutions either.
Is it fair to compare the stats of players at different clubs?
I'd sooner have Traore as a squad player than Ox and Minamino is all I'm saying.
We'll probably never know how many goals and assists Traore would get for Liverpool and I'm ok with that. But I'm still waiting to hear about the tons that Ox and Minamino have contributed this season.

34.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 16:48:39
If you're saying that you'd rather have Traore to Ox and Minamino (you're not the only one saying that, tbf), in a discussion about Traore signing for another club, then it seems to me that you think he's at least a possible solution to our squad depth issues.

And I have told you why that is silly. He is a blatantly less effective attacker than our existing squad attackers.

You can sit there and argue that 'we don't know how many goals and assists Traore would get for Liverpool' all you like, but we can make a reasonable guess based on his record vs. the pre Liverpool records of players we actually have.

Ox pre-LFC record is about comparable in that he didn't score very often either, but that hardly makes a case for Traore since his goal record hasn't improved since joining. And he spent more time at central mid for us anyway.

Minamino scored 64 goals for Salzburg. That's 2.5x what Traore has in his entire career. Mane was in double figures as soon as he arrived in the Premier League, Traore's never got near it. Jota scored 26 goals in just the two seasons before we signed him, in the same Wolves side as Traore, who scored 7 in that period. Traore is nowhere near what those lads were like before they joined, so it's a good bet he'd be nowhere near their level after joining us either. A good player at a 'small' club (and btw, Wolves are far from terrible. You talk about them like they barely scrape survival every season when they've been mid table) will still stand out. Mane stood out at Southampton. Jota stood out at Wolves. Minimano stood out when we played Salzburg. Traore stands out by dribbling past people and then doing nothing with the ball. That is no use.

The issue I'm taking is not that you want to replace Ox and Minamino, it's that you would rather have a player who is demonstratably worse.

35.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 17:53:47
Why are you going on about Jota and Mane? I said Traore wouldn't oust any of our front three. And where have I said Wolves barely scrape survival every year?
It's all speculation about what Traore would do at Liverpool and I wouldn't look too much into the statistics. Saying we dodged a bullet because of what he hasn't done at Wolves is silly.
He would have been playing at Liverpool and how close we were to actually signing him anyway?
My personal opinion is that he would offer more as an attacking threat for us than Ox and Minamino.
If his stats at his previous clubs tell you differently, it's ok with me.
And it's 'demonstrably'.

36.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 18:58:57
In fairness Rigsby, Traore has been pretty crap wherever he’s been. Couldn’t score if he had a fist full of dollars in a whore house.

37.) 26 Jan 2022
26 Jan 2022 19:58:51
And Ox and Minamino have been pretty crap for Liverpool. It's hypothetical what Traore would do for us and we'll probably never find out but Ox and Minamino have been disappointing. That said, I want them to do well for us and I can also see Traore's career being disappointing. Someone like Klopp might make a decent squad player out of him though.
Can anyone tell me about the tons they've contributed to Liverpool this season?
