We should be looking at Celtic manager for when Klopp finally retires.

1.) 06 Sep 2022
06 Sep 2022 22:24:21
He's 2 years older than Klopp. Hardly succession planning.

2.) 06 Sep 2022
06 Sep 2022 23:10:17
Well my friend,

Conte is 5 years older than Nuno esperito santo

Ancelotti is what, 15 years older than Zidane

Tuchel vs lamps? I'm guessing Tuchel is older.

United's sucession plan was a a roaring success wasn't it?

Age is just a number pal.

Who would you have?

I'm guessing Gerrard or Pep lijnders

3.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 00:00:42
I'd have Pep Lijnders or possibly Graham Potter when Jurgen decides to leave.

4.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 00:31:16
I really don’t know who can replace Klopp when he goes, or how relevant it is thinking about it in the right here and now given is likely to be around for a while. Based on performances and style of play just within the Prem though, Potter would be my pick. Likely to go to another big club I’d say though before Kloppers departs.

5.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 00:42:02
Potter. Seems a good lad.

6.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 01:59:27
Lads, it’s Celtic.

7.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 03:37:21
I have no idea about Pep, but he looks like a great coach but not sure about the management side of things. it'd be great if he does have that as he'd be a natural successor in that case.

8.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 04:46:04
Results don't pick up soon it might happen quicker than anyone thinks.

9.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 06:17:31
Potter will go to Chelsea.

10.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 06:38:51
Nonsense.

11.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 06:55:12
Klopp would quit before he’s pushed, and the pushed part of it will never happen at Liverpool.
Anyway, get the Ecuadorean lad from Brighton and Bellingham and there’s the midfield issue sorted there and then.
That would be a game changer for us.

{Ed025's Note - the only thing with that juicer is the league could be lost by january mate, if you needed recruits it should have been done before this window had closed..

12.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 07:24:51
Absolutely not Gerrard. Has Souness mk2 written all over it.

13.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 07:42:16
Molby, I wouldn't touch Gerrard with a barge pole, if he doesn't get something from the next 2 games he will be sacked. Villa fans have turned on him already. Regards to Pep, the game is littered with assistants who when they step up can't hack it. At this moment I have no one in mind. I'm sure come the time someone else will be in the picture. 12 months ago Rodgers was being touted for a big job, now he's about to get the sack, the same could happen to Potter. I hope not as I like him. But, football's a fickle, funny game.

14.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 07:57:18
Souness won something as manager of the club VVVV. Gerrard would be Ole 2.0.

15.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 08:23:49
What’s the point to this! Klopp has just signed a new contract and everyone was partying. Now we talk about who’s going to take over. ??‍♂️.

16.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 08:30:10
Calm down molby! Bloody hell.

17.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 08:32:27
@Longthing, we lost a match.

Speaking as someone who’s lived in Australia for the last 20 odd years and has seen his work pretty close up, I think the Celtic manager is, on a good day, at his very, very best - bang average. Just like the match yesterday he flatters to deceive.

18.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 08:33:43
Sourness may have won an fa cup but he destroyed a successful team and it took 30 years and Klopp to recover. He was worse than Ole.

19.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 07:59:26
Agreed Ed but, for me at least, CL qualification is an absolute priority for next season.
To the extent that everything else is secondary.
Apart from the league obviously but that will be difficult.

{Ed025's Note - I can’t see you not qualifying for the CL juicer. But it was obvious that you needed to strengthen the midfield this season and I can’t see why you never addressed it earlier mate..

20.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 09:13:51
Agree WarMachine - another example that being a good player doesn’t mean you’ll be a good manager.

21.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 09:47:58
Souness won an FA Cup, with at least, the last vestiges of a once incredible team (Grobbelaar; Molby; Rush; Burrows; Nicol) and a few young talents (McManaman; Jones; Wright) . We beat the mighty Crewe, Bristol Rovers and Ipswich (after a replay) before playing Villa who were about the same level as us and then Portsmouth and Sunderland, so not a difficult.

22.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 09:51:30
Steven Gerrard will probably never manage Liverpool, calm down people.

23.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 10:28:56
Very good point OMM.

24.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 12:56:29
100% ed. we knew last season our midfield was crumbling with injuries and age. Lack of backing screwed it up. Giving milly a 1 year deal, not moving on keita and ox. Believed Jones needed to have a big season or he'd be off too. don't see that happening now he's had a setback again. The only shining light is young Harvey elliot. Things should improve when thiago comes back but how long is he going to stay fit for. He could be clobbered in 1st game back.

{Ed002's Note - There was no lack of backing.}

25.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 13:55:59
Then why wasn't it done then ed? Klopps decision only?

{Ed002's Note - If players had left they would have been replaced - they didn't. And the club will not simply buy for the sake of it. And Arthur arrived. Next summer it will be different.}

26.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 14:31:22
Klopp has repeatedly implied the player (s) he wants were not available. Maybe even for crazy money in Jude's case. Do you think we should have got e. g. Tielemans for big money? Klopp will wait for certain players if he thinks there's chance. And Ed has repeatedly said we need sales to buy more and more players. Its not rocket science.

{Ed002's Note - Tielemans was available for £25M.}

27.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 14:51:17
Im happy we never went for Tielemans. Not good enuff. As for who replaces Klopp, I have no idea and were he to go today I would have Ljinders take over. No manager out there right now ticks any of the boxes, IMO.

28.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 15:01:12
Souness bashing again. I wonder if people actually know the circumstances at the time, if those commenting and criticizing are old enough to even remember.

29.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 16:25:50
This season has the hallmarks of two years ago: lots of injuries and praying for the return of Thiago to fix things. I think unless we turn things around quickly, top 4 will be the aim for the season. Mids keep dropping like flies and too many players out of form.

30.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 17:58:58
RedFlyer, take a chill pill. Injured players are already coming back which was not the case this early two seasons ago so again, the overreaction need to be toned down. We need to improve drastically and quickly BUT it’s not like two seasons ago where we already lost VVD for the season 6 games in. Again, calm down.

31.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 18:44:16
But tiel3mans for 25m is a bargain. and whos to say klopp and our coaches couldn't make him good enough. As for pep taking over. no thankyou. I fear he is becoming too involved already and its upsetting the apple cart.

32.) 07 Sep 2022
07 Sep 2022 18:44:58
lol I'll calm down. But, we do have a prob in the middle of the park. We need injury prone players to stay fit. I'm skeptical. But hopeful. I think this pill is kicking in.

The way in which Klopp is blooding in the youngsters tells me that not only is he preparing the next generation, but also that there's a chance he will extend again. He just seems so comfortable at LFC. And he knows he is adored and loved by the supporters and the club set-up. Going elsewhere is a sideways move at best and the German national team job is like a semi-retirement.
