I'm about to see us win the title for only the second time in 30+ years. I've had to endure the pain of watching Manu, ManCity and Chelsea win more titles in that time than us.
Not sure what some other posters in here are seeing?
"We've been rubbish last few months. " "We need better players. " "We are terrible at finishing. " Etc etc
We are 13 points clear and literally walking the title. Did you prefer it when we were "so good" but kept losing the league by 1 point? Do you actually prefer it when we aren't successful?
Sometimes it's hard to tell whether some posters are trolls, life's half empty people or other teams fans trying to sow discord amongst our fans.
I'll tell you what though. I'm having the time of my life as a reds fan #20 here we come! And remember, ask any Manu fan right now, it doesn't always last so enjoy it whilst you can.
{Ed025's Note - great post 1jj..

Absobloodylutely 1jj.
Could we upgrade in a couple of positions, of course. Has there ever been a complete football team that had the best player in every position, no. What this team has achieved in Slots first season is incredible. Forget about next season right now and enjoy the ride.
On another note did all the Trent haters celebrate wildly as the ball hit the back of the net. Or did they sit calmly and thought well it is only Trent that scored. I know what my reaction was.

It’s just an opinion 1jj. We were beating teams while playing faster more exciting football for a good period of the season and now it’s slow and boring. There’s nothing wrong with pointing that out mate. If you could pick out of the two am sure you would go back to the better looking football. And yes I know we tired ect! Am just saying it’s nice to watch us playing better football.
21 Apr 2025 09:00:45
Couldnt agree more mate.
21 Apr 2025 09:12:26
Some people are just not satisfied, we are grounding out results ATM but isn’t this what champions do? Enjoy the title we have deserved it.
21 Apr 2025 09:16:53
I wholeheartedly agree. One caveat, we really are terrible at finishing, a clinical striker in that team and we’d have been out of sight by half time yesterday. That’s a key issues that needs to be addressed.
21 Apr 2025 09:20:45
1jj, very well said. I've been saying for the last few months that I'm cherishing the moment. We are about to get back on our perch and a few years back I was doubting that that would ever happen. Yes, we do need strengthening, but I'm sure that will happen in the summer. In the meantime, I would ask all fellow Reds to savour this time because no one knows when it will come round again.
21 Apr 2025 09:24:26
We were challenging on 4 fronts.
Defeated in league cup, got ousted FA cup in early round plymouth and out in round 16 by PSG.
We were Defeated by Fulham and scrap past Leicester 1-0. Are we really walking towards title or limping towards title?
I know Eds doesn't like this kind of post but everything is wrote is true.
As a great man once said " Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitfu. "

No need to ask the Man U fans just ask the Liverpool fans. Enjoy it while it lasts. It’s been a brilliant season but you do need posts questioning certain things it keeps the site ticking over. Granted a lot of it rubbish.
The league for me was won months ago. My main take from the past few weeks is actually how much we have had to pay to keep our 2 star players. We let the players have all the negotiating power. What effect does it have on the rest of the squad?
21 Apr 2025 09:32:24
Spot on, 1jj. I have NO idea how certain members of a fan base like ours who have experienced all that we have experienced over the last 35 years in terms of the PL, can start being this negative, insolent and downright self entitled when we are about to match Utd's total of titles with a chance of outrightly knocking them off their perch for real in the next couple of seasons (hopefully) . Seriously, i cannot fathom it.
Mate, some of them go as far as saying, "We've been lucky to be where we are today cos blah, blah, blah. ". yeah, good luck convincing anyone with a brain that you can "fluke" a PL title. Even Leicester didn't do that. Now whether they are trolls or not, I have NO idea BUT they do parrott the same tired, sore loser talking points as rival fans do (see quote above for ex. ) so you could be right.
Like you, I am over the moon with what we have achieved this season and from a sheer nos. perspective, it is absolutely staggering. The burt of emotion over the past two games from the players and fans is awesome and should we beat Spurs (still got to do that) then, the exploion of joy at Anfield will be absolutely NUTS. And Im here for ALL of it. The trolls can do one.

I don't know what world you live in lee but winning the title by more than 10 points is not limping to the title. Maybe you need to check the dictionary.
21 Apr 2025 10:17:14
Absolutely spot on.
Unfortunately many get wrapped up in the "armchair expert" thing, "it takes more than that to impress me". Wannabe pundits more interested in analysing/ criticizing/ slagging off their own players than in celebrating.
It's Easter and we've all but wrapped up no 20 in Slot's first season, it's the stuff of fantasy - but not for those who want perfection every game.
It's just page after page now of deriding their own title winning players while coveting the latest YouTube sensation.
Maybe it's a 21st century thing, like the need to be outraged by something innocuous on a reular basis?
All the Liverpool fans I grew up with are incredulous that we're back on our perch again yet the constant moaning intensifies the closer we get to confirming no 20.
If you can't enjoy becoming the country's most successful club, what do people watch it for?
21 Apr 2025 10:25:48
Great post 1jj - some people aren't happy unless we're winning every game 4-0. Grinding out results when you have to is the sign of a true champion.
21 Apr 2025 10:27:02
Good post, FTR. And Lee, are you ever happy? I genuinely wonder if you are a fan or a troll.
21 Apr 2025 10:35:20
@PB, @Leek has been telling us all season what Arsenal was going to do to us and we're STILL waiting.
Maybe that will happen when we are all on the p*** celebrating our 20th title before, during and after the parade.
21 Apr 2025 10:53:18
Absolutely spot on 1jj. Well said.
21 Apr 2025 11:21:13
Well said - been a great season, we have played some great stuff and whilst we may not like our recent form I believe we are still one of the most in-form teams in the league - not playing at are scintillating best yet still winning games, you got to like that surely?
21 Apr 2025 11:49:42
Absolutely, winning the title is amazing -no doubt about that. But being critical while still winning doesn’t mean you're a "life's half empty" person or a troll. It's about looking beyond the surface and seeing the cracks before they become chasms.
I’m over the moon that we’re finally about to clinch #20, Slot has done an incredible job and we should all be delighted. But let’s not pretend everything’s been perfect just because we’re top of the table.
Performances HAVE dipped. Since January, we’ve not been playing with the same control or intensity. We’re grinding out results, yes, but a lot of those games have been way closer than they needed to be. We've been hanging on against mid table sides. That’s not sustainable long term, not in the PL and definitely not in Europe.
We ARE poor at finishing. The chances we miss week after week? It’s shocking. The numbers don’t lie, we consistently underperform in front of goal. Against other top sides or in tighter seasons, that bites you. It’s already cost us in the cups this season.
We DO need reinforcements. Winning a league doesn’t mean you stop building. That’s what champions do - they strengthen when they’re on top. Look at how City and even Fergie’s United sides kept evolving. Some of our current squad players clearly aren’t at the level we need to stay dominant.
Being happy about a title and wanting the club to stay at the top aren’t mutually exclusive. The complacency some fans are showing right now? That’s how empires crumble. Enjoy the title, yes but also have the vision to see where we need to go next.
21 Apr 2025 13:21:37
The common conception is that the top teams improve every season and that to improve usually means you have to spend shed loads of money. That urban myth has taken a bit of a battering this season.
We’ve done exceptionally well this season without changing the squad from last season and with Arne seemingly not wanting to use too many of the peripheral squad players. The core will change a bit in the summer with, perhaps, one or two regular starters being replaced (Robbo and Jota) and a number of squad players, as opposed to regular starters being replaced and I can’t wait to see who comes in. I think the 15 - 16 numbers this season might well grow to the 20+ mark next season and if that is the case we might well give the quadruple a good crack. Can’t wait to see.
