With a negative hat on, I do worry how we ultimately replace some of our generational talents over the next few years. It took 25 odd years to adequately replace Barnes at lw (with Mane), Souness/ McMahon at dm (with Fabinho), Hansen (with Virgil, though Hyppia was pretty good) . And left back was a disaster until Robbo arrived.

I'll bet you anything you never leave your house ever, for fear of everything that could possibly happen to you.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Take that first step forward. ?.

To be fair mate them guys were the buck cats.

The op has honest fears for the future of the club nothing wrong with that.
Short memories fans have. For 30 years we mucked it up and it could happen again.

We definitely had players before the Klopp era who were good enough to win the league. Hyypia and Carragher were probably a good enough first choice CB partnership to win the league, for example. Hyypia and Henchoz probably were too.

I think they weren't matched with a coach who could win the league (Souness, Rodgers, Houllier, arguably Evans and Rafa) or with ownership who could provide a stable enough platform to win the league (H&G)

{Ed001's Note - there is no way Hyypia and Carragher were good enough, they were far too slow.}

Was waiting on that ?.

With certain fans around, there's no chance we can have short memories, because they always make sure with reminders.

I am pretty sure we are not going to go and dominate world football for the next 30 years. But I am also pretty sure that we are in a much better place to remain competitive over the coming years due to how we are run.

01 May 2025 22:24:53
Exactly Faith. We just need to enjoy winning the league.

It’s a bit sad if people can’t enjoy the present for fear of what might happen in the future.

One thing is for certain, we will endure bad times in the future. We won’t win the league every year until the end of time which makes it all the more important to enjoy the here and now.

We are Champions, breath it in and enjoy it because it definitely won’t last forever.

How do you replace Gerrard, how do you replace Torres, Suarez, Coutinho.

Players come and go.

We’ve always replaced them. In general you improve the squad, you adapt the tactics and move on.

I’ve no concerned, the club is stable, the coaches are doing well. Complete opposite to ManU.

Hyypia would be within a shout he was brilliant, carra on the other hand was dreadful bar Istanbul were the Milan side were aged so once the game entered the later stages qe had the advantage.

Honestly one of the worst defenders we had on a par with the likes of biscan and traore and only wasn’t sold because he was a bully he thought he ran the dressing room, henchoz for example was much better as was Finnan at Rb.

01 May 2025 23:52:28
Bjornebye wasn’t a terrible left back. Ziegle was solid until he got injured, as was Mr Glass (Aurelio) but none were a patch on Alan Kennedy.

02 May 2025 01:38:24
Fabio aurelio was a brilliant player, if only he could stay fit. No love for momo sissoko in the 6 position?

Also I would say that at one point we had the best midfield in Europe with masch, Stevie and xabi, with the deadliest striker in Europe up top.

02 May 2025 06:30:13
I mean two of our biggest worldies have literally just signed on for another 2 years, Christ ?

Wtf is the point of worrying about what state we’ll be in in 3 seasons time?

Enjoy them whilst their here and have those fears if we haven’t adequately replaced them a smidge closer to the time.

That is some post, L29.
Well done ?.

02 May 2025 08:29:01
Rafa was close to building a title winning side, just a little too negative in his approach at times, particularly at Anfield.

02 May 2025 09:32:40
Terrible human and terrible player who “ran” the dressing room during our worst period in the modern era, just my opinion of course I know others say he was on of the all time greats I fail to see it.

Monstersouness, why are you wearing a negative hat in the midst of all this positivity, to begin with?
