What’s the feeling on this club World Cup thing here lads? Clearly it’ll bring in a lot of money for fifa and quite a bit of money for the clubs that are participating. For me it doesn’t feel right, I don’t know how the clubs that are participating are selected but it’s bound to be won by one of the European teams, which will make that team and the others even richer, which will only increase inequality between teams, is this the breakaway super league? As I’m not privy to all information, nor interested enough to do research, I must stress that this is just my uneducated opinion. I’d love to hear your views.

It certainly seems arbitrary how teams qualify. Apparently FIFA made the entry requirements fit the teams so that they could shoehorn Messi's Inter Miami in. I am not opposed in principle to an expanded Club World Cup as I'm not a fan of the exhibition mini-tournament or exhibition trophies in general as I think they are a waste of games in an already packed schedule. If a trophy or competition exists, it needs to provide an actual purpose and something different from the other competitions and the Club World Cup actually does that. But there needs to be a fair and clear qualification procedure as there is too much money at stake.
There are also too many games in the football schedule and the FA/ FIFA need to address this. Personally I would exempt European teams from the League Cup and have all teams enter the FA Cup from the first round as we don't need two domestic knockout tournaments. I would also rework the international schedule so that there are only three international breaks with one of them coinciding with the Afcon/ Asia Cup. But I digress.

Fifas attempt at the super league, the fact you can purchase players just for the tournament, i. e. ronaldo. Just sums it up for me, basically a glorified money grab.

I agree with the above but also it’s a good pot of money. Isn’t it £100 prize money? I may be wrong but if so winning that is a world class signing type money.

Could well be to our utmost benefit by not taking part, Kaiser spot on, Rest more than competitive games are needed during the summer shutdown, and less chances of getting an injury in a money making racket. Plus it's the Cricket season anyway!

Honestly I don't think Inter Milan are that strong when you compare them to the Inter teams of the 00s. They have some good players and a good manager but it wouldn't take much for them to fall off again. They had to reach the Champions League final for them to afford to keep their key players. They started that final with a 36-year old Mkhitaryan. I think Inter or Juve could really use that prize money.

This is one tournament that I am absolutely elated that LFC are not in. Terrible tournament and a money-grabbing scheme if I ever saw one.
