Hi ed1 how do you think we will regain some type balance to the team? I know it’s going to take some time to settle due to new signings but concern is with Gravenberch out no one else appears to be able to play that role?
{Ed001's Note - we will be fine, Slot will adapt and overcome as he did last season. Even the start of the second half you could see the changes he made making a difference.}

We don't have a balanced midfield, which leaves our defense too exposed.

We most definitely weren't firing on all cylinders at the start of last season, nobody does at the start of the season. Take a win, and progress a bit more in the next game.

What do you think of szoboslai ed? I see posters on here love him but he was at fault for both goals giving the ball away and just seems to do nothing for me except run around a lot.
{Ed001's Note - are you insane? Salah gave the ball away for the second, is your jealousy of his good looks driving you blind? He had a mixed game, but he was playing a new role in a new look team and formation, he certainly wasn't the issue yesterday.}

We had 4 new players and sob playing in a different position it's going to take a few games to settle down.

Midfield does seem an issue but I suppose in their defence.
Wirtz - First ever PL game and in a new team
Grav - major miss last two games
Macca - first start in 4 months
Szob - new to the Deeper lying midfield position.
However I’m not sure what defence can be given to Konate and Vvd for the last two games. Maybe the fact we know how quality a partnership they are so they should improve.

I’m not sure why everyone is up in arms over last nights game. It’s the first game of season. New players to bed in some players not fully fit example JG and the players still coming to terms with the loss of Jota. It’s a marathon not a sprint

Having an extra player in attack and one less in MF is a fairly significant change, which may take some time to adapt to.
There will be plenty of goals in our matches this season - at both ends!

We were arguably worse v a far inferior Ipswich side first game of last season. All is good in Slotland!

I am sure Arne mentioned Slob trying a trick that ultimately led to their second goal. I remember watching it and saying the exact same thing, stupid to try that there. We were out numbered with way too many players going the wrong way. What I would say is first game, hugely emotional evening, bit of ring rust and expectation having a bearing on them. All in all tricky game out of the way with 3 points in the bag.

I thought you could see the cohesion coming but there were still lapses.
We didn’t give up loads of chances but the chances we did give up were very good chances because at times we allowed them too much space.

The Soboszlai trick that didn't come off was for their first goal, it was Salahs poor pass that led to the second.

Some people on the live chat yesterday were complaining about our playing sideways a lot of the time. It certainly looked like it. Nothing gung-ho about that.

The thing I hate most of all is the opposition showing up and giving it a go. Honest to God you’d think they’d do the decent thing and just stand aside and let us do what we want.

Ed1 - for the second goal when Salah gave it away there were 8 players in attacking positions I think. When we were 2-0 up we should have shut up shop.
