Hmm think it'll be an interesting year, arsenal and Chelsea look pretty hot.
Think with how many changes we've made, and how few CBs we have, it's going to be a bit of a slog.

I watched Chelsea in their games and I can honestly say I wouldn’t take any of their starting 11 over ours. Not one.
I went through the entire team and we are better in every position.
Arsenal pretty much the same although you could argue about Saliba and possibly Odegaard although I think Wirtz will prove to be better.
Both arguably have more depth but that depends if we get Isak and Guehi and also how well Chiesa, Rio and YLFP do.

Arsenal should win by a large margin with a settled team now
Lfc look like it will be a struggle early on
Maybe it will settle second half of the season but maybe too late for the league but I do fancy lfc for the champions league.

Chelsea are a bit of an unknown quantity and have an exciting team with a lot of depth but perhaps lack the elite level players like Salah, Virg, Ali who all make the difference when it matters. Stoke 2.0 will likely end up being bridesmaids again if they manage to keep there set piece routine fresh and get a few more favours from VAR but they ain’t ever going to win the league with that David Brent impersonator no matter how many more billions they spend!

My sense is that this will be a season of transition for us, as we move into Slot's full vision/ creation - The new beast 3.0 under the new transfer team.
I think we'll see a mass of goals for, but also a fair few more against than last season.
Much depends on how Wirtz takes to the rigours of the prem, and how we fare with 4 upftont and a 2 man MF. This is a bigger shift than some predict, in my opinion.
We are basically going 4.2.4, and although Wirtz covers a lot of ground, he is less strong in the tackle than any of ou3 3 man MF from last season.
I think going forward Slot will realise that we may need more muscle in CM/ DM for this league.

The same Chelsea who scraped a draw v Palace? As for Arsenal, they do not have a winner’s mentality and need to shake it before they can be taken seriously as contenders.
It is two games into the season and calling anyone’s predictions is a lottery.

It’s a lonnnng season. Arsenal have a great squad, a billion pound squad.
Liverpool also have a great squad (slightly thin upfront as it stands) and more importantly, know how to win a title.
It may come down to managers. And I believe Slot is ahead of Arteta. I do feel like they’ll take an advantage though and we’ll have to win it from behind this time around.

Are we thin upfront compared to Arsenal LFC8?
They have Saka, Martinelli, Gyokeres, Nwaneri, Eze, Havertz, Trossard.
We have Salah, Gakkers, Ekitike, Chiesa, Rio, Wirtz.
They have 1 more player but we have bags more goals. Saka is the only one who might get near our first team but he’s not getting in ahead of Salah.
I think sometimes we are too quick to big up the opposition and we forget just how good we are.

I have to agree with the last two posters in 'robboslostlegs and vakpe' I against all the narrative thought we looked very exciting and lethal up front against Bournemouth. For a team who "isn't" clicking we looked fantastic going forward. Yes the defence needs to tighten up but teams will fear us. When they double up on wirtz and salah that leaves everyone else to carve them up. I just think we will be alright. Can you belive city lost at home today. I cant.

City regularly lose against Spurs - the latter have an excellent record against the former because they have always had the counter-attacking players to hurt them.
City aren't the threat this season - they have bought terribly AGAIN. Even though Spurs weren't great as it turned out, especially going forward, I had no doubt Frank would make a real game of it yesterday, unlike buffoons like Vitor Pereira, who are still happy to hand City points on a plate and go home.

Arsenal also have Jesus, unless he has already left. And I would count Rio since he's still a kid. But if we do, then we have to count Dowman for Arsenal too. So we are short when we compare to Arsenal's attack. I still think we need about two more in to last the season.

Let's be fair, odegaard/ eze, rice, zubimendi/ norgaard is a very good midfield. Arsenal had one big problem last year and that was serious over reliance on saka and their right side in general, now they have eze in he can operate in the left half spaces with rice. One problem they have I guess is that martinelli is not that good and they don't have a left back who likes to stay wide and overlap like we do with kerkez, allowing eze to come inside, calafiori likes to invert too.
Chelsea aren't a threat, they are managed by maresca.
I think that if we get guehi and isak in we can be confident. If not I don't really know, mo will be going to the afcon and an injury to our backline or one of our forwards and we are looking a bit ropey.
