I doubt many clubs have a back up keeper as good as ours, he seems an upgrade on Kelleher so the loss of Ali, though disappointing, hopefully won’t affect the team too much.
I’m not concerned either by the new players struggling, half the team has been replaced and Mo looks a little out of sorts, but as the new players acclimatise to the premiership, the potential for this team is immense.
But I think Konate is now becoming a real problem. I was never his biggest fan, I think he is an above average defender, but this season he looks like he is coasting and switches off during games. He was dreadful, again, in Turkey and needs a spell on the bench to sharpen his focus. The Guehi situation is becoming more of disappointment as the weeks go on and the Italian kid’s injury horrendous bad luck.

Naah marma ain't doing what ali did against palace. not with this defense. Ali is sometimes like an extra defender. Nobody comes close. Sorry but his injury is definitely going to cause us problems as marma very new and hasn't played with these players unlike kelleher who was at the club for 5 years and trained day in day out with our defense.

My concern is Mamardashvili's inability to function as an extra player at the back in the build up. But maybe his long kicking will make us more direct and stop relying so much on press baiting at the back, though he could just be kicking it straight to the opposition as well. I should also note, having watched a lot of Mamardashvili, that he doesn't really like coming off his line to sweep up like Ali, so that might be an area of concern.

Hopefully Mamardashvili can hit the ground running like Endo did and avoids the process cos the adaptation period cannot be avoided, period.
Good that he is extremely left footed like Joe Gomez though.

PB, the solution to your issue is to adapt the way we play to accommodate Marma's strengths and mitigate his weaknesses for now. Any coach with any sense would do that so Im not too concerned about all that. And if all else fails, boot it long.
As for those giving up after 8 or 9 games, be sure to get gone ASAP so we can know those who are ready for the fight and rally together to go to battle together. Trust me, you will NOT be missed. Pathetic.
