Just to adress the guys that want Slot out now, just wanted to tell you to save your breath, if he was still in a Job after losing 9 out of 12 he is most def not going anywhere for now after going undefeated for 6 games.

Get behind the Team and stop the nonsense because its not going to happen anytime soon. Stop acting like spoilt brats! Happy Christmas ?.

Ok boss, anything else whilst your at it.

“Stop acting like a spoiled brat” then proceeds to act like a spoiled brat. I want Slot out because he has a billion pound first eleven and has them playing like a mid table side. We scraped wins in our first five games and we’re scraping wins now. Moral virtue signallers such as yourself would rather see the team in 5th than challenging which is where we should be because of this invisible notion that “we don’t sack managers”.

The football is dross and his rationale post games are drivel. Furthermore, I would add the teams we’re currently playing are generally in worse form than us, Inter aside. I support the club but at this current juncture with Slot in charge I don’t see us returning to the top of the tree any time soon.

Couldn’t agree more mate. We’d have sacked him months ago

The plan must be throw more money at it in January, as we’ve seen minimal change from slot.

Same names in the team, used the diamond twice which give us some solidarity, but it seems we’re back at 433 now. The tempo remains very slow. We still let 30/ 35 minute chunks of the game pass us by and the defence still looks terrified BUT results have changed, which is good.

I would like to see us smash Wolves and Leeds to bits, put a few smiles back on faces at Anfield, we haven’t been entertaining enough at Anfield this season it’s time to change that ? up the reds.

I don't think it is fair to call people who want Slot out spoilt brats. We all love the club and everyone is entitled to their own views. This season has so far been nothing short of abysmal and I think we can all agree on that right? We spent £450m and we're currently out of the title race, out of the League Cup, nowhere near favourites for the Champions League etc. It's not acceptable. Even taking results away from the debate, we're actually just not playing very good football. It's a painful watch and even when we win, we rarely win well this season.

I wanted Slot sacked after the 4-1 home defeat to PSV, but I've stopped posting about it on here because the one thing I do agree with you on is that if they didn't sack him then, they won't sack him now. So it's a waste of my time and energy. I will always support the team on match days, but in between games I will also openly talk about what is best for the club in my opinion. I'm not an Arne Slot supporter, I'm a Liverpool supporter. And for as long as I believe he is making Liverpool FC better, he has my support by association. Right now, I don't believe he is making Liverpool better. I think the exact opposite. Bleating about it on here every 5 minutes won't change that though, hence why I'm not starting new threads about it and have avoided getting dragged into the debate for a few weeks now.

I felt I had to reply to this one though because you don't have the right to call someone spoilt just because they want what is best for the club, and that happens to be different to what you think is best for the club. Happy Christmas, nonetheless!

I don’t think anyone wants to see a LFC manager lose his job, because it means the team are not doing well (which is what we all want), but you can’t argue the fact that the longer Arne has been at the club and had time to introduce his philosophy the worse we have gotten. It started to show last Christmas and has continued since. He can point at the large turn over in summer but in some games this season we’ve had 10 players from last season on pitch and still been poor.
Now we have no real pattern of play, seemingly zero tactics and a such as slow build up has made us from being one of the best to watch to making us one of the worst.

We have great squad but many do not suit this slow build up play.
Results have been better recently but performances haven’t.
Slot last year effected games with subs and tactical switches mid game but now seems clueless- the last 20 mins on Saturday was case in point.
We want LFC to be successful and also be entertaining to watch for the large amount of money that’s paid to go to the grounds. If that means a parting of ways with Arne so be it.
Let’s see what next few months brings. As some ITK people have said, currently Arne might not be here next season.

{Ed025's Note - good post that Nutter..

I appologize if anyone took offense, maybe it came out very wrong. But being called spoiled is not as rough as some of the names Slot has been called on here lately. What gives some of you guys the right to be so rude then? You can want him out (as I personally do) but no need to keep posting about it over and over and over and over again because its not happening, that's all really.

22 Dec 2025 09:47:26
Explained it much better than I ever could have, MK. I agree with all that you have written. We're not Slot supporters, we're Liverpool FC supporters. And we want Liverpool to do well regardless of whether it's with Slot or not.

At the moment, it looks like it looks most likely that it's without him. That doesn't make us spoilt brats just because we have that viewpoint.

My thoughts on Slot.
Positives in my opinion:
- likable guy
- excellent with the media. It's an important part of the role to manage the media. He has some very troublesome situations to navigate in media spotlight and I think he has managed nigh on all of them excellently.
-hard worker - his dedication to be away from his family and put in hard and late hours to improve is admirable in my book. He definitely comes across as a family guy, so it must be tough.
- despite all the pressures of losing multiple games, he kept reasonably positive and didn't throw anyone majorly under the bus, despite Mo's accusations in my view. I would say he is a manager that can handle pressure quite well.
- for last year, he was perfect manager to come in with Klopp's tactics still in players heads. Slots risk adverse policies took some time to kick in therefore for the early period of his reign it was the perfect blend. And it delivered a 20th title. Klopp in my opinion was unlikely to deliver title last year. Slot deserves all the credit for doing so in my opinion.
- I think he must speak well when attracting players to the club. We got some highly sought after players which he convinced that Liverpool were the right option.

Negatives:
- the further and further into Slots tenure we go, the risk adverse tendencies are having more and more of a negative affect. Klopp's attacking prowess has all but died out in the players and the blend is fading fast. We are now just far too slow in the build up and when teams are back defending, we don't break them down.
- most of our goals still come on the transition but opportunities are less now because more often than not, we do not do things quick anymore on the transition. Therefore chance creation is low.
- Slot has shown an adaptability in formation etc. But with very few exceptions, hardly ever an adaptability in philosophy of control (building slowly and methodically) . With this style, you need to excellently creative in breaking a packed defence. I ve seen no improvement in design to improve this area. If we don't improve breaking packed defences on a regular basis, this philosophy is absolute doomed to fail.
- if we get more precise and creative at breaking down packed defences it could be reasonable exciting to watch, but with slow build up and not much idea of what to do up top against packed defences, this is some of the most boring football I have ever watched us play. Some people have compared to hodgsons era. This is a miles better team than that so overall, we are nowhere near that level. But on an entertainment level, we are getting pretty close. That first half against Spurs was an Absolute snooze fest. Thank goodness Xavi got sent off to liven the game up. We should all be thanking him.
- the players are not fit and that is concern.

Overall, I really need to see us scoring goals against a set defence quickly or a change in philosophy to break quickly more often. There are other ways to ensure that protection is there without playing at a snails pace all the time. I need to see something in the performance to show next year we'll be back hunting big titles again. Nothing in the performances to date show me something is building. In fact, it's more a crumbling feeling I'm getting with sticky tape fixing the issues.

I can't see him changing philosophy.

It must be, consistently, breaking down packed defences and scoring goals against packed defences. I'm not sure we got one goal this season when the defence was packed in. If he doesn't do anything there, we have no chance with this philosophy.

Personally, I don't have faith in him to get this side sorted as we ve made zero improvement against packed defences since he has been at the club. I would like us to move on from this manager as quick as possible now with thanks for his amazing efforts for delivering us number 20 and being a very likable guy.

We actually do have patterns of play and a clear philosophy, it's just that we don't implement it well. Slot's approach has always been to pass it around to get the other team to jump and try to win the ball, then move it through the lines quickly to exploit space out wide or in behind.

The problem is that our players are not on the same page a lot of the time, and even when we do create that space there is a split second hesitation and we don't get the ball into space quickly enough, or the players aren't making the runs into that space, like sometimes ekitike will come short rather than get in behind, or sometimes the player will get in behind and our defenders or midfielders will dither a second too long and the chance disappears.

If and when we have it drilled in us that everybody knows what they should be doing at every instant on or off the ball then it would look a lot more fluid. The players are still coming to terms with the way the new boys want to play, moving the center of focus from the wings to through the middle etc. I feel like it's taking longer than any of us would like but unfortunately for me that seems to be the reality of the matter.

I personally am not the biggest fan of this press baiting, and I'm even less of a fan of our lack of a press from the front for the most part (though this has improved in spurts), but it's wrong to say that slot doesn't have an idea of what he's doing or that we are incapable of changing rhythms in game, it's just that we are doing it badly right now. Still, we are winning games while doing it badly.

Its a big climb down for Hughes and Edwards to let Slot go, especially since the options mid season are slim.
It is possible that Stevie G could help certain players, and certainly get the excitment levels up on a short term basis - anything would be better than the dire football Slot is serving up.

22 Dec 2025 10:21:13
Some Cracking comments here.

I’ll be honest I gave Slot huge praise last season and he’s rightly getting the criticism for what’s been a pretty poor season so far in comparison.

If he can’t carry the can for this season then he shouldn’t get the praise for last either.

I hope he can get us playing exciting winning football but I have major reservations about it.

22 Dec 2025 10:24:34
My two pennies, I think we are all behind the team and ultimately want slot to be successful. He is however, failing to show any learning from certain flaws, and despite going 6 games unbeaten we still look rubbish, easy to get at and for the quality of squad and players signed this isn’t good enough. This isn’t a bad patch with green shoots of recovery this is moving away from football we loved under a different regime, to turgid dross, where players seem scared to make forward passes and get at the opposition….

I think criticism is highly warranted because despite these poor performances we’re still top 5, showing we should really be challenging again for the title!

22 Dec 2025 10:38:22
You obviously like mediocrity my friend and BTW Slot does not need a barber.

22 Dec 2025 10:58:36
The standard is so poor this season and last, we could be entering a period of dominance, and should be.
If Alonso is going to be at Real for at least 2 seasons, maybe much longer, who knows, we need to get Iraloa in, and get back to front footed football, which is suited to the league.

We'll need a manager that rotates to avoid burn out, rather than trying to change everything to this languid, low energy dross Slot is serving up.

22 Dec 2025 11:13:21
Some good comments in this thread.

It all depends on if you think Slot can deliver the footballing idea he has before Hughes/ Edwards lose their patience.

For me the body language of the players gives hints that they are just not very well-drilled. Lots of standing around and reacting late to events on the pitch.

I guess we shall see.

22 Dec 2025 18:55:39
The big problem trying to tempt the opposition to over commit was most apparent with Konate who just looked like Bambi on ice when he had the ball. The failure to actually establish a solid base for attacking undermined the confidence in the defence. It also didn’t help that the best GK in the world was out with injury, again undermining confidence and that it’s been a lottery at RB so far this season.

As I said I think Konate looked a lot better when Joey was at RB and with Ali looking to have found something approaching his best form.
