With the best will in the world, I can't see anything other than a 2-0 Fulham win tomorrow. They are a step up from the terrible teams we have played in the recent 8 game undefeated run. They will win comfortably if Slot insists on the same dire tactics.

I wouldn't be optimistic of a victory, that's for sure. That alone shows how bad we've become but apparently we are in a rebuild and we are on an 8 game unbeaten run with draws against Leeds and Sunderland at home thrown in there for good measure.
Hopefully Fulham won't play with a low block, try to win second balls or score from set pieces because Arne hasn't got the answer to that yet. I'm just hoping Fulham do us a favour and play attacking football ?.

What about Forest then, Florian. Lost to all and sundry but absolutely battered us at Anfield, there's a blueprint to beat us. Fulham will follow that. We're not physically strong, we weak defensively, we don't enough create clear cut chances. It's not hard to stop us scoring or beat us.

I think we win by the odd goal.
Not sure about the line-up but feel like Wirtz may sit this one out. Hamstring came up last week and he only trained once the looked out of sorts. I'm sure people will scream that it's not an excuse but isn't this also his first festive period of football? Anyways, just a factor, another thing he has to deal with.
Thought Macca's recent interview was quite insightful. 3 key takeaways -
- number of changes over summer have disrupted the rhythm of the team.
- He also mentioned trying to connect with Isak and noted that Isak likes to keep on his own.
- team has great players but they are building the team.
bonus 4th takeaway - he said that this is the situation they're in and they have to work through it now.

Regardless of how poor the results where and now with the performances being poor, I'm always optimistic before every game except the derby. We will sneak it tomorrow in a boring 1-0 win.

Arsenals new players have played more minutes than ours. They sit pretty on top of the League, still in the League Cup and doing just fine in the CL. I would think it's safe enough to debunk excuse No1.

Last season Fulham put us to the sword at Craven Cottage. Their manager knows that Slot has no clue how to deal with a low block and set pieces, he knows our midfield is non existent in defensive situations.

The slow torturous passing around the back and wasting the first 70 minutes of every match is my favourite bit.
Then the inevitable changing of the fullbacks and chucking the obvious substitutions in the mix to try and rescue us. Top it all off with the glorious post game excuses ??.

Misseed the previous game because of the odd timings, this one is better. but in the mood we are in, it isn't looking prerry.
Reg point 1 above -
Maybe, maybe Slot did not want Mo and VVD to be extended. More so in case of Mo.
He brought in Wirtz and changed. the last yeafs template from day 1.
All the attacks starting from only left side / center and thus isolating the right hand side.
Even when Mo waa on fire last season and before, he was never a traditional out and out winger taking out his man. He relied on pace amd early release from his team mates (esp TAA) and added with intelligent pressing, stacked up numbers.
His, Mane and Firminio was the prime / best example of intelligent pressing. Mane was pure aggression with more intelligence when compared to nunez/ Jota, but Firminio and Sale were one level above on intelligent quotient but with less aggression when compared to Mane.
Nunez and Jota with their pressing created chaos though less intelligent, helped Salah.
Now the template is all slow build up ( more posession) and try to penetrate through left and center completely isolating early balls through the rigjt side.
I am not saying this evolution or chage feom slot is completely wrong but it is being implemented straight away rather than being introduced gradually.
I don't disagree with last year style for controlled agression instead of the full gung ho approach of Klopp, but pushing Grav into attack with no bite ( macca, Wirtz, Szob) from midfield, has exposed the defense.
Yeah, Salah is not in great form and it is not because of Slot but the draatic change has contributed in some way or the other to his loss of form or exacerbated it.
Lack of competition and cutting inside being the only oprion for Gapko has made him very average this term. He does not even pass to Kerkez when they both play on left.
Kerkez is very raw and at 45 is a huge gamble. We can only hope he comes through as he is young.
Sorry for such lengthy post, you can see how confused each one of us has become.

The only time i've turned the TV off is when we have been 4-0 down ten minutes from the end. As long as there is jeopardy in the game its still a good watch, even if the football is a bit dull.
I enjoyed the Leeds match because for 90 mins there was the possibility of us scoring, even though the end result wasn't ideal.
The score vs Fulham will be 0-0 at kick off. Can't wait to see what transpires.
