I'm sure it's reached the stage where some posters want us to lose so, in their eyes, it will speed up Slot getting the push. If I am right in saying this, then these people aren't supporters, in my opinion. I, along with many others on here, am lucky to get to games, and pretty much everyone is now despairing of how we're performing. This, ultimately, is down to Slot. But I find it tiresome that people are levelling everything single thing at his door. When posters start by saying "the bald Dutch buffoon needs to go, and go now" they're really not putting forward an argument.
Ultimately, I think he will go, but it's my wish, and it should be every supporters wish, that he can turn things round, and get us back to where we all think we should be.

Better to just accept that he won't turn anything around. Everything points towards that. Sure, wishful thinking is fine and in an ideal world slot would have turned it around, but he has had months to alter his tactics and approach to the matches. Months to rebuild the relationship with the fans or just give a glimpse of a desire to win.
It's done now, since the majority of the fan base has lost faith, the players clearly has and I assume the higher powers will soon if they haven't already. A little too late to turn it around I'm afraid.

I would never want us to lose so a manager gets sacked. As it means we got the wrong person in for the job. But Slot looks like he's waiting for his P45 and it's depressing watching this talented team being so wasted.
18 Jan 2026 20:12:43
Once again agree with you Rome, im a season ticket holder and very lucky to be able to cross the mersey to the game!
He deserves more respect and credit for winning the league!
18 Jan 2026 20:14:20
It takes all sorts Rome, I've got a argument for him to go and I don't think he can turn it round but I don't want us to lose to speed up him getting the sack ( if he gets sacked)
18 Jan 2026 20:19:40
With all due respect, the majority of us are more than willing to back and support a manager through difficult moments. It's only when he can't adapt or change his methods if we are continuously suffering from the same problems - week in, week out. I refuse to have blind faith in someone who seems to have sucked the life out of the intensity we used to have on the pitch.
This isn't a religious cult. We as fans have the right to call out mistakes and ongoing failures, especially when they are not being addressed by the person in charge. I don't think it's fair to paint the rest of us in a negative light, if you wish to choose backing Slot.
18 Jan 2026 20:22:54
I agree in some ways Rome. The players have let him down on many occasions with baffling decisions. But it is on him regardless. Sure he's changed it around with no losses and if the last four were wins we would be second.
His lack of man management hasn't helped and lack of support from those above him. It's time for him Togo and use this lesson in a good way.

Under no circumstances do I ever want to see Liverpool lose. It's just not in my makeup. I think the vast majority of fans are the same.
When the Houllier and Rodgers eras had reached the stage of being obviously rotten and dying, I didn't want us to lose. Even when Woy was in charge, I wanted him to succeed. I just didn't think he would.
Ditto Slot now.
I can be dispassionate in my disappointment during a streak of poor results or performances and come across as not caring. But that's not actively wanting a defeat or even a draw.
18 Jan 2026 21:02:40
Rome, can't see people wanting us to lose, we'd all back slot if it looked like he could change things round. if we were unlucky in games but it showed we were on the right track I think he'd be given more time, but even in this unbeaten run there is not much to suggest he can turn it round.
I wanted him out at least 2 months ago, a lot of things are wrong with the club this year n it mostly stems from him and Hughes n Co but he's the manager overseeing this rubbish show.
18 Jan 2026 21:06:48
Rome I commented on one of your posts last week, which was very similar. I don't think anyone wants us to lose, and that everyone would love Arne to turn it around. Based on the evidence we have been given, he is not capable of turning things around therefore it is in everyone's best interests that he moves on.
Slot is a gem for delivery us a PL title, but the standards are high and we are woefully below those standards and showing no signs of improving.
18 Jan 2026 21:12:09
Keegan the powers above have backed and supported him, in reality he should have left months ago. He has refused to change or adapt and plays the same way week in week out blaming everything on the players, the ref, the small margins, he takes no accountability or blame, he's been more than supported.
18 Jan 2026 21:14:01
Well Rome I was hoping Slot was going to be more successful than Klopp by being more ruthless than Klopp was with players like Naby.
But since February last year things have just gone downhill so fast.
I will admit I wanted us to lose against West Ham when we was on the worst run since the 50s because I think that would have put an end to this and with the games coming up I was scared of him limping on and unfortunately that has happened but I don't want us to lose now because we are on a tight line to finish in the champions league next season.
But trust me when I say for every weekend we don't win it ruins my weekend so I did not want it to happen before I even when we played I wanted us deep down to win.
And am I was not against Slot and if I had the choice of Alonso as manager or Slot to be successful I would have hoped for Slot every time and twice on a Sunday.
But this is not working at all but I do blame Hughes and Edwards for this because they should have made that decision weeks ago. Because there was no way anybody was turning it around from that run and performances we have been for nearly a year now.
18 Jan 2026 21:16:16
Agreed Rome
Posters can certainly put their point across without being personal. Not classy at all.
18 Jan 2026 21:24:12
With all due respect, he did win the league last season, with integration of new players, injuries, certain players out of form, and aging VVD and Salah, plus a few players not having a full pre season.
A pre season interrupted by the tragic loss of Diogo! And after half a season people want him gone!
I hope he turns it around.
Rather than go on another manager merry go round!
18 Jan 2026 21:42:18
Gota break a few eggs to make an omelette Rome mate! Nothing wrong with that!
18 Jan 2026 21:51:39
Boof which one are you? Florian or Sean Dundee?
Additionally we only signed Chiesa last season who barely played anyway. He's had ample time and threw it away. Additionally your claim about wanting a manager merry go round? Who does. People want Slot out as he's finished and the right man in, nothing awful about that.
18 Jan 2026 22:12:41
I totally agree with @Rome's point of view.
I think Slot deserves respect, if only for winning the PL for us at his first go. Name calling and making stuff up to try and influence his departure shows a lack f class on our (fans) part.
18 Jan 2026 22:20:53
But he has turned things around. We were mid-table not that long ago, now we're 4th.
I get the crirticim in how we've been playing but I've been observing for wees now that there is progress in how we're playing, albeit small. The we had Burnley and however many chances created but people are upset about not sprinting on a couple of counter attacks.
Overall, we know the season hasn't been good enough. In there here and now, we've made progress the last few weeks.
18 Jan 2026 22:36:56
Elaborate on the making stuff up shout wdw.
18 Jan 2026 21:31:13
Rome you are 100% correct. There are quite a few on here who hope for a defeat to confirm their view that Slot is crap and needs to go. They might not admit it but their words give it away.
We have really been showing ourselves up over the last few months in my opinion. Whatever you think of the manager, players, hierarchy you never, never, never boo your own players at Anfield. Never.
You never hope for a defeat so the manager gets sacked. We have become a moaning, whiny, entitled fanbase who have now become a hindrance to the team.
Anfield is our 12th man but right now it feels like the opposition's 12th man. Do people not realise that the boos and geers only help the opposition?
We call ourselves the best fans in the world? Not even close! We've become Spurs or West Ham fans this season. Shocking.
18 Jan 2026 23:55:16
" But he has turned things around. We were mid-table not that long ago, now we're 4th. "
He hasn't turned things around though Faith. We're still as bad as we were. Only someone who has room temperature IQ would think that drawing home games to the likes of Burnley, Leeds, or Sunderland is acceptable.
We've won 8 of our last 20 league games. For comparison over the same number of games, Roy Hodgson won 7. This is the same situation and Slot needs to be w of his duties as it's clear he has no idea how to change things.
As for being 4th, we're closer points wise to Leeds United in 16th place than we are the league leaders. More of the dross that Slot is serving up will see us slide down the table.
19 Jan 2026 15:12:15
Faith don't get me wrong, I think he is more than likely to leave in the summoer IMO.
However, what has Slot turned around, exactly?
We are 4 points from 10th placed Fulham. We have Brentford Chelsea, United and Newcastle up our butts. Scored only 3 goals since 2026. NO wins from any promoted side at Anfield. Yet to score more than 2 goals at Anfield all season long.
Oh, and Mo Salah hasn't kicked a ball in a month for LFC and we are worse off than we were when he was getting scapegoated and thrown out of the club so Slot can't hide behind that.
Salah has been outed him, IMO cos we're still playing crap since the incident happened.
So tell me, what has changed?
20 Jan 2026 01:58:59
@Scouse John - the one that he goes home every weekend for a start.
