Shocking first half, jones again taking too long on the ball many times hook him. The rest giving the ball away can't seem to pass to each other. Depressed.
22 Feb 2026 16:08:11
How we won that I will never know, but anyone sticking up for Slot now is ridiculous. He clearly does not want to be here, but just wants the pay off. With how we have been playing this season, he gives the players two days off just so he can piss off back home.
If anything, we should be taking advantage of a full week in between games to do some extra training to try and sort something out.
22 Feb 2026 16:21:45
How have Liverpool won that? Apt that the game was won by pretty much the worst player on the pitch (and that's saying something), nearly with his ass (but it turns out to be his elbow), and nearly in offside (but it turned out not to be). Guess beggars can't be choosers? Will take the 3 points, thank you very much.
22 Feb 2026 16:24:11
The result should not overlook that dismal performance. The players were stood still when they received the ball. No urgency, no pressing. Simple passes were going astray. This has been going on for a long, long time now. I'm at a loss as to why Arne Slot's bosses think this is acceptable.
22 Feb 2026 16:35:17
By far the luckiest team this weekend to get that win. We were dire, but right now, the three points are the only important thing. Did we expect more? A good performance? I did, and was stupid to expect it, but we got the win. The only thing for certain is my position hasn't changed and won't change. Slot out.
22 Feb 2026 16:39:28
This isn't me sticking up for Slot, but when you say, "we should be sorting something out," Grino, we had won the previous 2 games. Had we not, I'm sure no one would've had time off.
22 Feb 2026 16:45:25
Ekitike, Salah, Gakpo, Gravenberch, MacAlister, and Jones were all atrocious. They should all have a long hard look at themselves. Gravenberch couldn't trap a cement block.
22 Feb 2026 16:53:41
Agree with you there, Redmick.
22 Feb 2026 17:08:24
Rome, even when we win, the team is all over the place. We were not good against Sunderland, and getting the odd result when not playing badly is OK when you are normally playing well, but this form has been a year now. Managers moan because they don't get enough time to work with players, and our performances have been some of the worst in the league this season for the talent our manager has at his disposal. And he gets a full week to work with the players, and he pisses off back to Holland. And yes, you are sticking up for Slot like you seem to every day on here. First of all, it was admirable of you, but now, given where we are, you are coming off as an ostrich with his head in the ground.
He is clearly not committed; otherwise his family would have moved over with him. I can't think of another manager who signs a three-year contract at a club of Liverpool's size and whose family stayed in another country. He clearly just wants some payoff so he can go back to Holland and stay there. No way would a manager have a player who is not committed enough to move near the club, and the manager should be setting an example. Klopp left because he could not give 100% anymore. Now we have a manager who is not giving 100% out of choice.
22 Feb 2026 17:28:21
About 50% of our victories this season have felt like losses. That was another one today. It's a difficult watch. But 3 pts, we go again next week.
22 Feb 2026 17:32:45
We were muck, but I don't care. We won. We have deserved more in some games, and the luck hasn't been with us; today it was. Over the moon with that result. The team gets enough stick on here when we lose, be happy today, Redmen. Arne continues the turnaround.
22 Feb 2026 17:43:49
Good response, Grino. I wish I was sat having a pint with you, instead of tapping on my phone. As for the line "pissing off back to Holland", I can only assume that, when he signed his contract, the club were aware that his family wouldn't be moving and were happy with this.
He was flying back last season and it was never mentioned. I'm far from happy with our performances since we won the league, and Slot will ultimately be judged on where we finish and what we win come the end of May. If we aren't in the CL next season, he needs to go, and I'm sure he'll be gone.
22 Feb 2026 17:49:58
Yeah, it wasn't great, but give me another 11 not great wins, I'll take it. We've had games where we deserved more and lost, so take the win however it comes and move on to the next.
22 Feb 2026 17:50:11
I'm confused. Is this Slot's second turnaround of the season, or are we still on the first one?
22 Feb 2026 17:59:44
Well, it's 2 defeats in 20 after 9 defeats in 12, so I think that's worthy of being called a turnaround, Irish.
22 Feb 2026 18:02:01
Problem is another 11 not great wins will likely give us another 38 not great performances next season
22 Feb 2026 18:13:20
We've only lost 8 games in the League all season mate
22 Feb 2026 18:14:41
Reds, what are we doing in training, what is being coached?? Oh hang on, let's have 2 days off everyone. Unbelievable. I've been a red all my life. I've seen some bad performances. But with the players we have, defending champions, dross like that is churned out. Yes my family all jumped around when Macca scored, delighted we won but
22 Feb 2026 18:21:57
Unbeaten in 3 Irish.possibly the start of the 3rd turnaround
22 Feb 2026 18:26:10
What he hasn't turned around is my ability to stay awake during our matches. Was out cold once again. Couldn't care less about champions league football next season if this is Slot ball. And f no I don't want to be happy with the result.
Most of the players today was abysmal and the entirety of the first half performance was an embarrassment to the badge IMO. I do not recognize my club and that breaks my heart more than winning games brings me joy currently
22 Feb 2026 18:26:34
Rome i don't know how but i have stopped drinking and to had a pint in 6 weeks and with watching them it's hard let alone the main stress factor in my do deal with.
But am not sure if the club would have none how his family situation would have been but maybe that's one of the reasons he is going in the summer.
Don't know if you see the press conference the other day he did mention how last season come march he really need a break 7 months into a season that's not a good look and it's not something you would expect a manger to come out with that far into a job.
22 Feb 2026 19:30:37
Flo turnarounds are not just about wins; they also include performances, and even you have to agree, we have had very few good performances, so I do not class it as a turnaround. To be truthful, it really is lucky that the Premier League has been so poor, or we could have been in a bit of trouble.YNWA.
22 Feb 2026 20:43:19
Or maybe the Premier League isn't poor.
22 Feb 2026 21:34:49
Oh, here's Florian. The contrarian. If the sky was blue, they'd say it was red. We are crap to watch, and we are sixth in the league with a squad most would die for. Yes, I will blame Slot.
22 Feb 2026 22:12:32
Florian posts a lot, so I'm getting content, oodles of it, for free. It keeps the site ticking over. I have stuff to read. Perfect.
23 Feb 2026 06:49:51
I know we were crap, Frode, don't care. Robbed many a win under practically any manager in my lifetime. Ah yes, this magical squad, you're right, Frode, the options on the bench yesterday were absolutely frightening.
