Saw earlier pictures of Macca & Szoboszlai having a vacation in Roma. ? After the wonderful performance vs Palace, the team got 3 days off as a reward. ? Great Manager, should get a 5 year extension. ?

It can't be true they got 3 days off at this stage of the season.
If true, I'm adding this to the list that's convincing me Slot is off in the summer. Could care less about getting his coaching ideas across.
29 Apr 2026 10:42:09
Macca posted pictures from Rome on Sunday, Monday, and yesterday, which implies at least 3 days off mate.
29 Apr 2026 11:01:49
Big game coming up against that lot down the road at the weekend, and Slot has decided that fanning around is more important than preparing for it. This kind of dereliction of duty and amateurism is why we're in such a mess this year.
29 Apr 2026 11:05:29
It's still 4 days training, lads, at the end of a long season.
29 Apr 2026 11:17:21
If we beat United, what will we be complaining about the day after?
29 Apr 2026 11:20:00
Chelsea players at the tennis in Madrid. So what.
29 Apr 2026 11:48:32
Seriously Florian, that's your reasoning? The players and Slot are paid more than what an ordinary person earns in a year. They should be training more than 4 times a week, especially as this is their full-time job and it is still the business end of the season with CL qualification not even confirmed for us yet. I could forgive them last season for doing this at the same point in the season since they had already wrapped up the title by then.
But they have achieved absolutely nothing this season to warrant a three day holiday. Long season my arse.
It's obvious that the players are given time off because Slot wants to return home to his family for a few days. We need someone more committed at the helm of our club, not someone who jets off for a few days each week.
29 Apr 2026 12:00:55
City players are having days off and are being allowed to go wherever they want, and they are chasing the title. I'd guess this is the case with most clubs.
I would like to see a change in Head Coach, so I'm not a Slot apologist, however, I'm not out to slag him off regards to every single occurrence, like some folk on here.
Out of interest, if he is still with us at the start of next season and we start well, playing the sort of football we'd all like to see, are we all 100% behind him, or will we still be slating him for jetting off to the Netherlands?
29 Apr 2026 12:59:37
Rome n Florian..If we was playing well, fighting for titles then the manager/players can have days off without us all moaning, but its the complete opposite isn't it, we look so unfit, still no real cohesion in the team, if anything we need to be training more for fitness n style of play, if Slot is staying (I hope not) then the extra training n working on our plays would be more than beneficial to everyone, its a no trainer really.

Spot on, Drac.
Strom, the comparison to City is what I find bonkers and disingenuous. Apples to pineapples comes to mind here. City can do whatever they want, cos they are on for a treble, so not arsed.
As Drac said, we did that last season with a title in the bag and like him, I didn't care.
As for this season, we, on the other hand, are near the end of a brutally disastrous season under this manager, but clearly what we are being used to now. Comparing winners to losers just to make the manager look like he knows what he is doing, whereas the emperor has no clothes, and this, since the start of the season.
29 Apr 2026 13:33:24
Give it a rest, will yis. If we played Sunday then Saturday, we would only have four days training anyway. Slot took advantage of an eight day turnaround to give the players a couple of days off. The bloke probably had a family do back home he had to DJ at. ?
29 Apr 2026 14:25:50
Florian, it's not 4 days' proper training, you need rest days between training sessions too, and post-match active recovery days. Training should be spread out through the week, for balance, but Slot would rather give them off consecutively to better suit himself. This is a big part of the reason the squad's lacking in physical conditioning, the only consistency here is the inconsistency.
You can't get fit if you're condensing your training into a 3/4 day window, even your local gymbro knows that. And that's assuming you're only playing one game a week, so for most of the season they're doing even less.
Rome, you don't have to be behind a manager to be behind a club, so give over that nonsense.
29 Apr 2026 14:35:34
They've played 34 league games and have 4 games left. They aren't training to get fit at this stage. Training will be more about tactics. A couple of days off to relax if there's no midweek match might do more good than harm.
29 Apr 2026 14:44:40
Giving players time off is fine. However, when the fans are constantly shown the running, fitness, pressing stats being the 2nd worst in the league, and seeing players on the pitch gassed after 65 mins, you can see why the optics of seeing social media posts of them gadding about the world receive criticism. Optics, eh?
29 Apr 2026 15:11:23
FPF, Oli, Drac, whoever, the players weren't "gassed" on 65 mins on Saturday from what I could see. We looked the fitter side.
Oli, I used City as an example. Like I say, I'm sure other sides have gone on a break, if they have no games mid-week.
I couldn't care less. If we get beat on Sunday, and we might, it won't be down to players having done time.
Chewy, I posed a genuine question, having said I'd like a change in Head Coach. Will folk get behind Slot if he turns things around? I know I will.
29 Apr 2026 15:18:46
That should read "downtime" not done time. Although, how crap some of the players have been, they should do time!
29 Apr 2026 16:31:45
I'd like to see all the players get a pay rise.
These holidays are not cheap.
Should we start a GoFundMe page?
29 Apr 2026 16:43:30
Rome, people have backed themselves so far into the anti-Slot corner. It will take an invincible season and quadruple to bring them out
Luckily for them that is unlikely whoever is in charge so their position can remain firmly in that corner.
But it's still a wild place to be.
29 Apr 2026 16:47:57
For me, Florian, it shows he is not using the time he has to work on issues the team has.
A coach that is fighting to improve his flailing side performances will be using this time the team rarely has available to improve where he can.
Clearest sign yet that he is a goner.
I'm pretty convinced he is out the door now.
Which is good.
29 Apr 2026 21:24:19
I'm sorry FM, and Rome, and anyone else who thinks that having time off or downtime or any kind of time, other than training time, at this point of the season, with the schedule of opponents we face, is somewhat ok. It's not. They should be putting it all, everything they have, on the very expensive training pitches our owners built, to try and achieve some sort of pride in salvaging a Champions League place for next season.
It's the very least us supporters and the owners should expect. The manager and players have zero integrity if they think otherwise. It's not complicated to see this. It really isn't.
29 Apr 2026 21:46:56
You argue the case well, Shanklys Ghost. Personally, I'm not bothered. I'm probably in the minority holding this view, but that never stops me expressing my opinion on things.
I'm more interested in posters' views on whether they will get behind Slot if he turns things around next season, or are they not for turning?
29 Apr 2026 23:28:32
I know you don't hold back, Rome, and you're absolutely right not to! Nor should you! That's why I like your posts. They've got real substance! Never be a sheep, I say!!!! ??? Baa baa.
30 Apr 2026 04:03:37
The irony of all of this, of course, is that we've climbed up the table to be where we are now.
Not where we ultimately want to be, nor playing at the best version of what we want to see, but it's an upwards trajectory nonetheless.
