I am disappointed though, i think it’s a huge bonus to have that kind of quality to rotate with. If Gomez is fit and can stay that way, it’s fine, as Leoni is still an unknown quantity. Vvd and Guehi just feels a lot safer.
Never understand why teams leave it so late. Palace agreed a deal and knew about it for weeks, why didn’t they look at getting a centre back in earlier. Even if they kept Geuhi until the last game, just gives the other guy chance to bed in. If they didn’t want to let him go, fine, but then why are they letting him do his medical.

This is a blessing in disguise IMO. Get him much cheaper in January, and we have Gomez to fill in until then (or injury lol) .

Can’t help but think this shambles will cost Palace both Glasner and Guehi in the short to medium term. The manager has hugely over achieved but the management has overlooked their ownership issues and have now not got their replacement CB signed in time. Guehi’s dignity is impressive and let’s hope we see him in red in January.

Sh*t happens. Or in this case it doesn’t. Not Guehi’s fault. Palace have cost themselves a transfer fee, which is vital in these days of PSR, still we either revisit in January for less or he joins for free. No big deal. We’ve four centre backs and with the news that Konate was just cramp, we’re still good.

I'm really disappointed by this. I felt we needed CB cover and instead we only get Isak who I don't rate for us, and who we don't need. Hopefully gomez can stay fit which is a worrying hope to have going into the season.

Lads he'll probably arrive in January. Sure its unfortunate for the lad but im sure he'll get over it. Its not like he was pushing his way out, he can keep playing for the club he was happy to play for last night. Palace didn't get the replacement over the line so didn't feel they cpuld let him go. We may have let Gomez go if Guehi had signed and we'd all of been happy about that just because we got the new man. We have 4 centre backs. 3 of whom have won us many trophies and a few players ago capable of filling. We'll be fine.

I would have taken your hand off if offered the above on the first day of the window. A lot of skill and loads of potential talent to be fulfilled in that list.
Shame about Guehi, he would have added depth to the defensive cover but Rome wasn’t built in a day. Like I say I’m sure the idea was to set the foundations of Arne’s squad and that the rebuild will take a few windows over two or three years.
Anyway, I think we have a very string squad and can’t wait to see how the season unfolds. Great time to be a Redman.
Final word, well done to Edwards, Ward and, in particular, Hughes, who were having a lot of uncalled for mud being slung at them this time last year. To quote George Formby it’s “turned out nice again”.

yes dissapointed also, still, we might sign him up in the next transfer window, and a bit cheaper, I am not happy with konate at all, I get nervous when he is on a one to one, touch of Trent about him, but hey we just signed one of the best strikers in the world.
