Hi guys, long time viewer first time poster.
Just seen that Arsenal are looking at Quansah, which would be a shame as I've been hoping we would sign him back. Does anyone ITK have any more info on this? Are we looking at him at all?

Personally, seen nothing in Quansah to suggest he would be a viable option for a top team. If he joins Arsenal, he would just be defender 7 who can play the RB and CB role, on occasion. Not a starter, not with room to develop (as Arteta does not do that), just a stop gap solution to cover a variety of areas.
The World Cup just confirmed suspicions that I always had about him. It showed that he still remained rash, inconsistent and lacks the dominance of a top centre back. There are better options out there, for me.
I honestly don't see the issue of letting him join Arsenal.
{Ed025's Note - i think they are welcome to him MANGO..

With Spence and Quansah looking at moving to other clubs, that's at least two awful defenders we can stop getting linked to.

DAFC, his name has been mentioned on here a number of times. However, most aren't the most complimentary about the prospect of his return.

This is also a non-story. It's an enquiry from Arsenal, not something concrete.
14 Aug 2026 11:23:46
If Klopp can do anything good with Quansah then it's a big no from me. There are definitely better players out there.
14 Aug 2026 11:36:44
From Quansah's point of view, he'd be mad to go to Arsenal, surely? He left Liverpool to get game time, and once they have everyone fit he'd be about 8th choice.
Why on earth are Arsenal buying another CB anyway? It's the one position they don't need anyone else.
14 Aug 2026 11:38:39
Can't see it happening. Bloke left us to get games.
14 Aug 2026 11:41:03
I don't get this whole 'happy to sign players back for twice the price' nonsense, it's incredibly bad business, and for another average player made to look better than he really is, courtesy of the Bundesliga.

Under Klopp, as a teenager, Quansah played really well.
Under Slot, not so much, but many struggled under Slot.
Quansah went to Leverkusen and played well, earning himself a WC spot.
I wouldn't be going after him this summer, but if he stays at Leverkusen, would be keeping a close eye on him to see how he's developing, to replace Gomez next season.
14 Aug 2026 12:00:23
Wouldn't bring Quansah back for a meal deal, never mind £50 million, he's a liability.
14 Aug 2026 12:11:28
Ginger, can we stop with the blaming Slot for everything that ever went wrong with the club narrative.
Klopp probably made more mistakes than Slot did, and they both won us a league.
One was the perfect fit for our club and what the fans wanted, one was the opposite.
Quansah was good but not great under Klopp, the same under Slot, and still the same in Germany.
He's just under a hell of a lot less pressure and scrutiny there. If I were him, I'd stay clear of the top English teams.
The media and fans will tear him right back down after every error.
14 Aug 2026 12:15:37
The game he played in the World Cup, the centre backs were avoiding passing to him whenever they could. He looked so uncomfortable on the ball that the centre back was looking to play it out to the right, but saw Quansah and turned back inside. There is no way we should look to bring him back.
14 Aug 2026 12:17:07
Fairly sure the buy back was around 70 million pounds. I don't see anyone paying that or more this summer.
14 Aug 2026 12:21:14
I would take Konsa over Quansah but preferably neither of them. The English tax puts both their values too high and I think the Araujo stop gap will really help us this season until the young CBs develop. I'd have loved Marc Guehi on a free but we have no need for Quansah or Konsa right now.
14 Aug 2026 12:34:55
Quansah was very good under Klopp, don't know why he gets bashed so much off some of you lot, Konate was hardly great really. Slot ruined Quansah for me.
14 Aug 2026 12:35:44
"Ginger, can we stop with the blaming Slot for everything that ever went wrong with the club narrative."
I'm 100% sure I never said that.
14 Aug 2026 12:58:07
Quansah is an upgrade on White at rb and Mosquera at cb.
He won't start over Timber or Saliba though.
14 Aug 2026 13:03:52
Quansah is a terrible RB.
14 Aug 2026 13:08:53
He definitely struggled under Slot, but I felt like he was a very accomplished partner to VVD under Klopp, and although he has a rash tackle in him, it's something he can learn to mitigate. My worry is dependencies on young CBs that are recovering from major injuries.
I agree his price tag is way too hefty, but he did become a key man at Leverkusen. Maybe I just have a soft spot for him cos he's from Warrington...
Thanks for talking sense into me!
14 Aug 2026 13:30:33
No way he's an upgrade on Mosquera and White, MK. He's pretty average.
There's a reason why he plays in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen and the other two play in the EPL for the current champions.
We got Araujo for CB. No need for another one, as we shouldn't block minutes for Jacquet and Leoni when they're ready.
If we get any more defenders in, it should be a specialist RB. Quansah is very poor at RB.
14 Aug 2026 13:42:06
Arsenal are welcome to him, hopefully we have a sell on clause in the deal. He's not a right back, we don't need any more centre backs. He's too dozy and careless on the ball, too rash in the challenge.
The sending off in the World Cup just sums him up, and the way he thought he was hard done by it. The amount of times he cost us a goal when he was on the ball and the team in no danger was unreal.
14 Aug 2026 13:42:23
Quansah wasn't good enough when he was here. Every time he was trusted, he blew it, and Konate had to be called upon again. And we know how awful he was.
He seems a nice hard working guy, so good luck to him if it happens.
14 Aug 2026 13:43:23
I'm sorry MK, but Quansah is better than nobody at RB. He is awful there.
I actually think he'd do ok for Arsenal at CB as the way they play, they do protect the back 4 very well.
However, he'd be behind Saliba, Gabriel, Mosquera, White, Timber, Calafiori, Hincapie who are all better CBs than him.
The move makes no sense for him at all.
14 Aug 2026 14:11:13
He's not a nice hard working guy @red-jc.
14 Aug 2026 15:48:00
Don't think Quansah plays RB as good as Timber and White? And is he better than Mosquera? Thought he did well for Arsenal in the games he got last year.
14 Aug 2026 16:03:48
@ginger, wasn't saying you did say everything, it's just something we see a lot. Didn't mean you do always. Sorry.
Quansah's form or quality had nothing to do with Slot in my opinion, just. He's always been a good young defender, who makes costly mistakes. He'd be a good squad player, but I wouldn't be in much of a panic to bring him back.
14 Aug 2026 17:34:29
How did Slot ruin him? He hooked him in the first game at half time, as he was a nightmare and couldn't head a ball.
14 Aug 2026 18:33:55
Do we have a sell-on clause for Quansah by any chance? Be nice to get a bit of extra money for him if Arsenal buy.
14 Aug 2026 18:47:14
Selling Quansah was brilliant bit of business.
Van Dijk at his peak makes any defender look good and with Becker behind them they ooze confidence.
But he was not good enough for a team challenging for the Premier League.
15 Aug 2026 01:54:15
Can we respectfully admit that Quansah was poor? I remember everyone was satisfied with the fee we received and I see a similar player. I wish the lad all the best, but I think he'd struggle back in the PL, regardless of whatever side he played for.
