I'll tell you something about this transfer window,
I'll be glad when its done no matter what happens cause I really don't want to hear the names Hughes and Edwards ever again.
We shouldn't have to hear about which attention seeking, wannabe superstar, self proclaimed transfer expert is doing what in the background, It should be kept behind closed doors and we should only know when there's some proper news to announce.
Humbug.
Personally i'm hopeful, Iraola will work it out.

Any news re El Mala?
01 Sep 2026 00:26:59
There’s no news re anything, we’ve f***** it.

With who we have for at the moment, I wonder if this team gives us more balance. Playing footy manager:
Alisson
Araujo. Jacquet. VVD. Kerkez
Grav. Ali M
Munoz. Slobs. Gakpo
Isak.
31 Aug 2026 22:04:50
So you wouldn’t play Wirtz?
For me, I would play this line up vs Ipswich.
Ali
Szob Jacquet Virgil Kerkez
Nyoni Gravenberch
Wirtz
Munoz Isak Barcola (or maybe start Gakpo).
31 Aug 2026 22:26:29
Ignoring FM ideas, the line-up vs Ipswich will probably be:
Alisson
Frimpong, Jacquet, Virgil, Kerkez
Macca/Grav, Szoboszlai
Munoz, Wirtz, Gakpo/Barcola
Isak
There’s only 2 positions I think are up for debate right now. Though, I’d also start Nyoni alongside Dom. I think they have the best balance as a pairing if we do want to persist with Dom as a CM.

I think you can partner Nyoni with any of our mids and it will improve the team because he actually has some positional discipline.
I still think Szoboszlai to RB is the move though, not only is it his best position, it is currently our weakest, and I think it also improves the midfield to replace him with Nyoni...
I just worry about Nyoni playing too many minutes.

As we don't expect to challenge this year, personally think the squad should be:
Giorgi
Szob/Bradley Jacquet Araujo/Leoni Kerkez
Grav/Mac Nyoni/McConnell
Munoz Wirtz Barca
Isak/Ekitike
With Gakpo covering where needed in those forward positions. The only reason Ali and VVD are out is simply down to their contracts. Both will leave at the end of the season. Give Giorgi his run just to see how he does long term (may be a confidence thing), so we can make the call next year. Hopefully Kelleher comes back (likely better than Ali now) and VVD can cover, but we should be looking to the future and giving the young lads minutes to build a partnership in that defence.
Araujo looks a good signing, so let's look at him properly with a view to buy permanently next summer.
I know there are weaknesses in that team, but as it's a transition year we should transition away from the players we know won't be here after next summer, give the players who possibly will a chance to prove themselves long term and see where else we need to build on.

To make any sense of turning down £85m for Cody Gakpo, Barcola for me plays on the right with Gakpo on the left, imo. I couldn’t be looking at Gakpo on the right for a full season. Gakpo will not be happy to play 2nd fiddle to Barcola on the left either. This takes our new signing out of his best position straight away when he is clearly the best LW we now have. If Barcola actually plays in his best LW position I can’t even see Gakpo getting in the side ahead of Munoz on the right. This in turn is gonna result in an unhappy Gakpo who had been willing to move on in search of first eleven football.
I would have bit the hand off for £85m for Gakpo and getting an actual RW into the club, as for me all our wingers now at the club would be better coming from the left, even if it meant overpaying what we on here see as value. Because, let’s face it, who the duck ever thought we would be getting offered such an obscene amount for Gakpo? Someone that got slated every single game on here last year, by the way.

Here's a signing that I don't see mentioned.
We signed a 16 year old CB from Celtic named Dara Jikiemi.
31 Aug 2026 18:27:49
Lots of reports stating that we can’t sign anyone and Cody staying! Any ITKs confirm that.
Sad state of affairs if it’s true!
31 Aug 2026 21:28:07
Can't or won't?
31 Aug 2026 17:52:05
Gakpo is staying as per Ornstein.
Some good news at least imo.
31 Aug 2026 19:44:39
I think it's bad news tbh.
01 Sep 2026 05:55:20
I’m actually pleased Cody is staying.
We have lost a lot of experienced players and we need his professionalism. To sell him and bring in Sarr would be daft imo. Especially at the fees being reported. If Isak gets injured, we will need him.
31 Aug 2026 17:21:51
Cody stays. £75m + £5m bid rejected. Good decision.
31 Aug 2026 20:11:05
There goes a waste of salary.
31 Aug 2026 20:23:04
Totally, in this current market he has to be £100m!
31 Aug 2026 21:27:55
Not for anyone who's watched him play.
31 Aug 2026 17:21:25
Gakpo stays!! Wow!! Things are moving Minteh looks like he's coming in to land too.
My chances of the remaining deals:
✅ Minteh in - 80%
✅ Sarr in - 70%
✅ Camara in - 60%
❌ Gakpo Stays!
✅ Harvey out on loan - 75%
And remember, the two youngsters from this morning don't join until 2027, so they don't stop us doing any of the above.
You all know these deals are never done until signed but you can use the same model they use to predict.
Window so far:
Jeremy Jacquet, CB from Rennes - around £60m
Victor Munoz, winger from Osasuna - around £35m
Ronald Araujo, CB from Barcelona - loan
Bradley Barcola, winger from PSG - £106m + £17m add-ons
Djylian N'Guessan, 18, from Saint-Etienne - joins 2027
Lucca Brughmans, 18, GK from Genk - around £30m, stays there until 2027
This is starting to look like a proper rebuild rather than just replacing players. It will be a cracking window if we land the rest of these and a RB.

What in the ChatGPT?
31 Aug 2026 18:43:15
You're genuinely on a whole different planet, mate.
31 Aug 2026 19:44:34
Maybe look at my other posts. Have been spot on all window... soooo ?♂️ Just using the data to predict that's all.
It's been a good window for us.
31 Aug 2026 19:47:03
I think you said that when I spoke on us signing an injured Minteh? Or when I had doubts on Mbaye or Gakpo leaving etc etc etc. Data and common sense dictate the market. And the market is fluid.
Nothing wrong with a factual update. ?
31 Aug 2026 20:44:20
Agree, Robbie.
