A report in the Athletic says Leeds are interested in Nat Phillips and Liverpool value him at around £10 million.

Is this something that would be affordable to Leeds or are Liverpool pricing players out of moves again?

I feel like he deserves a chance to play regular football at his age and can't be thrilled with his current situation.

I know Ed002 has said he is one that will probably make way, with Hertha being a potential option.

{Ed002's Note - It makes sense for all.}

I really like Nat Phillips and think he’s shown a good attitude to stay at the cub as 4th/ 5th choice. But for the lads career I hope he moves on and gets regular first team football.

Funny how football works as I’m sure he has all the ability of Harry Maguire but the two have had vastly different careers up to this point.

Lad needs to be let out of the basement and get his career sorted! I’d wish him nothing but the best and hope he goes on to have a great footy career!

3.) 27 Jun 2023 19:17:53
Comparing Nat with Maguire Bmena-red wash your mouth out :)

4.) 27 Jun 2023 19:50:24
Great lad nat, would head an aeroplane for the team.

5.) 27 Jun 2023 20:23:26
Nat is far superior to Maguire. Franck Kessie is still at the shops after that Cruyff turn at the san siro. His career never recovered.

6.) 27 Jun 2023 20:24:53
We should take the £10m being mooted, good business we need the money.

7.) 28 Jun 2023 05:38:57
Good luck to Nat, he's been excellent on and off the pitch. Leeds are very lucky to have a player who will work as hard as him.

8.) 28 Jun 2023 11:36:57
Yeah, good luck to him. He’s hung around long enough, £10 million is cheap enough, fingers crossed for a decent career and hopefully he plays in the PL in the not too distant future.

9.) 28 Jun 2023 14:43:30
Bmena-red please, do not mention Nat Phillips to that dreadful manc CB aptly nicknamed "Slabhead" or "The Fridge" in the same sentence or in any comparison. Phillips so so much better than him, it's ridiculous.

10.) 28 Jun 2023 23:48:34
Incredible that he’s 26 and his career hasn’t even really started yet. Feel so sorry for him cus there’s a player there. Shame for him we play such a high line because if we didn’t I reckon he’d be third choice if not partnering VVD. In a team that sits back and soaks up pressure he’d be a monster. Just not got the pace for us though I’d still keep him instead of Matip. Good luck to him if he goes which he definitely should.

Couple of names I've seen pop up of someone usually relatively reliable on social media are: Arthur Vermeeren (18) and Josip Šutalo (23).
Not names I know anything about. Anyone seen games with either playing?

YNWA2503

1.) 26 May 2023 14:04:54
Never heard of either of them.

{Ed002's Note - Josip Sutalo (CB) Seen as an option to Malang Sarr for Monaco and as a replacement for Rob Holding and Cedric Soares for Arsenal. Dinamo Zagreb will certainly sell at the right price.
Arthur Vermeeren (DM) Barcelona have offered the well liked Royal Antwerp youngster the opportunity to join their B side. Manchester United had a long history with Royal Antwerp but would face Work Permit issues in England and would have to apply for an exception or wait until he gets a full cap.

Nothing to do with Liverpool.}

Any chance of a roundup of players Liverpool are interested in Ed02 as a latest update?

{Ed002's Note - I have largely provided that already. I am not sure if there is anything new.}

I've had a look on the West Ham and Wolves pages and it has been mentioned on both that Origi is of interest to Wolves but not at Liverpools current asking price. Could there be a scenario where Origi plus cash if offered for Traore?

YNWA2503

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of such a proposal.}

1.) 19 Aug 2021 23:20:59
I’d rather keep Origi, at least he can score goals and there is evidence to support that.

2.) 20 Aug 2021 06:33:16
Traore is going to a Spurs I believe.

Hi Eds, quick question regarding finances but not in detail, more to do with pre-transfer window planning.

When Liverpool drew up their list of targets, for example midfield - Bissouma, Sanches, Neahaus, Saul etc, surely they knew that this calibre of player would be €40 million euros upwards to sign, not €5 million 'diamonds in the rough'.

They have still made contact with these players agents/ club reps anyway so did Liverpool think they would be successful in:

A - Driving the prices down
B - Paying slightly more but in smaller/ delayed payments like Jota
C - Raise enough funds through sales.

Or a combination of the above 3?

As if they were well aware of the financial limitations they already had due to C.V., it seems like a waste of time and resources to target unattainable players.

YNWA2503

{Ed002's Note - It would be a combination - they know that money is a huge problem for the club and that they would need payments spread over a longer period and they know that the squad is over-sized and player need to be sold.}

1.) 17 Aug 2021 09:11:17
We could always contact players directly and promise them the world if they sign for us …… or is that not allowed?

2.) 17 Aug 2021 17:27:05
You are meeting Saul in the Big Blue Hotel tonight 8pm. Do your thing WDW.
