So, looks like Fabio Carvalho has been told he is not a part of Klopp's plans next season and is, reluctantly, prepared to accept a move away from the club permanently.

Wow, just wow.

What exactly was the plan when we signed him?

Why was he not allowed to go back on loan to Fulham, if we were just going to just stall his career like this?

Not to mention, we tried to buy him the previous season in January, only to run out of time because we suddenly decided on the last day we wanted him and ran late on paperwork. Then, months later, during the season, pay a decent amount of money in order to beat other teams to his signature, while he was soon to be out of contract. Avoiding going to tribunal altogether.

So, we went to all those lengths to acquire the player. For Klopp to just ignore him? What a waste of the kids time, I have no idea why Klopp didn't give him any opportunities. Hell, according to Klopp, Fabio was a worker in training, even recognized that he wasn't giving Fabio the opportunities that he deserves.

And now, what? We are just going to give up on the kid.

That's the kind of attitude and lack of forethought I expect to see from Sam Allardyce, not Jurgen Klopp. Fabio's misuse is actually criminal. He even scored an important volley at one stage, to win us the match, then disappeared from the squad for months without rhyme or reason. No injury, no explanation. nothing.

I am baffled, genuinely baffled by Klopp's behaviour. He has been dreadful all season, tactically all over the place, unable to adapt (which is becoming a huge problem) and now he is doing the one thing that Klopp never used to do, freezing youngsters out and stalling their development.

And, for what?

What did Fabio do to deserve this treatment?

This has been a complete failure from top to bottom. Who signs a youngster, a quite talented youngster at that, without any plan in place to aid their development?

Why, in January, was he not loaned out in order to reinvigorate his development?

Why go to such lengths to sign a player who, I suspect, Klopp had zero interest in. It is becoming increasingly obvious that he was a cheap signing by the board in order to make a profit. Nothing more.

I honestly don't recognise our club anymore. It is run by absolute imbeciles. The backroom staff seem to either have too much power or are simply leaving in droves. The club, which was once one of the best run and enviable in world football, is now a joke.

FSG and Klopp have a lot to answer for next season, it is a huge test for both to see if they have the fire and resolve to dig deep and fix this mess. I am honestly not sure and fear this system may in fact be our undoing next season. Fingers crossed I am wrong.

As for Fabio Carvalho, I honestly wish him nothing but the best for the future because he did not deserve this treatment.

Wow just wow.
Don’t believe everything you read.

It seems a weird signing because he's not a midfielder in the way we play our midfield. As a 3. he's more suited to left wing/ forward position where we have Diaz, nunez and jota. he's a skillful, talented player but always looked v lightweight whenever I saw him play. He got shouldered off the ball a lot and lost possession. I could see a role for him as a false 9 but Gakpo looks like he might cement that place. I wouldn't want to sell him though that may be best for him and his career. I'd see if we can get him a loan to a prem team for a season before making a decision to sell or keep.

Why is it a disgrace to buy a player, play him and then he not get in the team, how on gods earth do you know what goes on behind the scenes? Not like Klopp is going to come out and say Fabio isn't playing because he doesn't fit in our now system and there are better players than him.

And imagine the uproar if we had let him go somewhere else in January and then get a load of injuries.

He also could have turned us down.

Ridiculous post.

Christ, people really do read one story from one random source and take it as gospel don’t they? And if they don’t like the story they use it as an excuse for a rant.

Hahaha “criminal”. Comedy gold.

He’s always looked okay, never great and too lightweight to be in a pressing side. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was like Ben Davies, Arthur, Stephen Caulker - not Klopp signings which are cheap or in Carvalho’s case resale potential.

What of Carvalho have you seen even in brief glimpses to suggest he's up to it? Personally nothing, sometimes transfers are a mistake, and who knows what he's shown on the training ground Mango lad, he might have a shocking attitude and looked absolute bobbins.
So as much as I agree that I hope he goes somewhere and gets a game, I also think he was just the wrong lad in the first place.
Shame but it is what it is. now let's have some proper rumours. Is Fekir on his way to the roller coasters yet ;)

I think the big clubs are often guilty of buying more than they need. The Liverpool management team could be better at it to be honest. Some players really don't get a full chance and you do wonder why they were bought at all. Davies as an example.

As for Carvalho, I genuinely think there's a really talented kid there but with the purchase of Gakpo, I fail to see any room for him at all in the setup. Carvalho probably needed another season or two before making a big move.

If he does leave, I really hope he fulfils his potential and we look back at him as one that got away. Seems like a nice kid too. Hard not to root for a guy like him.

Yeah, will hold my hands up and admit this was an ill timed, poorly constructed rant.

Still believe Fabio has been treated poorly, but didn't need to degrade this into melodramatics.

We had a chance to sign a young, talented footballer so we did. For whatever reason it hasn’t worked out so we move him on. I don’t see the issue here.

Unless you’re saying you want us to play every player we sign regardless of whether they are good enough? I’m just glad you’re not in charge if that’s the case.

Things change! I honestly don’t see the fuss about moving him on. It could be because we want the money to buy better player or he just isn’t up to standard.

There was rumours he was finding it hard being homesick. He is a great prospect better than Anthony Gordon if you ask me. Shame really If true.

What has klopp done that's so damaging to the players future? A young prospect who looked good out on loan, but failed to hold down a place in an out of sorts injury prone midfield when given a chance. If klopp thinks his not part of Liverpools future plans then it's best for both parties for cavalho to secure a move away. Pep has hit calvin philips international career into a brick wall, but that is a genius at work. While klopp is a massive let down. WOW JUST WOW.

Same thing will happen to Elliot.
Carvalho, Minamino, Shaq… number 10’s don’t fit into a Liverpool side managed by Jurgan Klopp.
No shock here.

Mango, Pep has done the same thing with Ferran Torres and could prolly do the same thing with Kalvin Phillips and I don't and did not see any City fans kicking up a fuss and goind all OTT about it. This happens all the time. Players sign and sometimes they don't work out. It is what it is.

Marko Grujic was signed by Klopp and barely got a game. Did the same with Awoniyi and many others and they never played for us under Klopp. We all accepted it and moved on. I propose you do the same with Fab Carvalho should he get sold.

16.) 29 May 2023
29 May 2023 20:08:04
Too lightweight, either needs to go on loan for a couple years or be sold. Is what it is, not everyone can make it. If we had enough players I’d send Elliot out on loan as well. Don’t think either will make it with us long term but to have a chance they need to be playing week in week out.

Never understood this 'too light weight' comment. Didn't realise footballers had to be able to bench 130 to be considered decent. He just needs to lift more then.

Hats off to Mango for acknowledging he was just blowing off steam. For what it’s worth, Klopp has taken a fair bit of stick from some fans here. There is a reason Klopp is currently the 2nd longest manager in the league, and one who rarely, if ever, loses a player he wants to keep. Players love him, and know they will improve under him. Quite the contrast to likes of Jose, Conte, Tuchel etc who seem to lose their dressing rooms after two seasons. Klopp strikes me as a very up and down character: when he’s up he is engaging and intelligent; when he’s down, he’s seriously down.
The pressure of the job is relentless, but I hope after a few deserved weeks off he comes back recharged, and fired up by some top signings…. we have been very lucky to have him.

I don’t know about criminal lol but how we’ve developed him, or rather haven’t, is a bit baffling.

I don’t think this needs a major investigation to crucify Klopp tho hahaha.

@FPfF Knicker wetting over knicker wetting over knicker wetting is quite the look too.

Back in the real world … Carvalho is a footballer player. Football players are bought and sold every window. Will everybody sold in the coming window reflect disgrace on the club they are leaving.

If he us sold and hopefully just loaned for a season but looks to me the club are sourcing said youth players for a minimal fee and trying to make money on them without giving them a fair chance. Your telling me ox and nabby deserved to play this season over carvalho. rubbish. Elliot will be next. Stiffled his career for a year. Well done. There is a quality player in carvalho. Even klopp said the other day he was always impressed in training and his attitude was superb.
If this is the way we go forwards. good luck enticing any more young up and comings players to the club.
