I’m saying it now - Liverpool are winning the league next season. I believe it with everything I've got.
This season wasn’t just a one off success, it was the start of something special. Built on the incredible legacy of Klopp, and now ready to be taken even further by Slot. The mentality, the unity, the hunger - it’s still alive. And now we’ve got a new chapter ready to be written.

Let City spend. Let Arsenal sign their striker. I’m not worried. City will always be dangerous, but I don’t see them at their best anymore, not consistently. And Arsenal? Until they change their manager, they’ll always fall short when it matters. They'll fly early on, and fade like they always do.

Look at what we’ve done this season. New manager. New system. New coaching staff. Barely any major investment. Off field noise around contracts. And still we delivered. That’s not just impressive, it’s inspirational. The squad didn’t flinch. They fought. They adapted. They stayed focused. For me, the season’s already complete, these last games are just a victory lap for a team that never stopped believing.

And yet, some of the shine has been dimmed by distractions like Trent’s announcement. Why? We knew it was coming. He’s been a huge part of this journey. Every player, every coach, every backroom staff member deserves massive respect for what they’ve achieved. This season has been special, it’s history. And Trent was part of that. So thank you, to him and to every single player who gave us these memories.

Every title Liverpool win means everything. It becomes part of the fabric of who we are. We should be proud. We should be happy. We should be celebrating. Life’s too short to dwell on the drama. Let’s enjoy the journey, embrace what we’ve done, and push forward with belief. This team has given us something to be proud of once again.

Now it’s about building. The club knows we need reinforcements. A top striker? Essential. A midfielder to rotate with Grav? Smart. A left back, right back, and centre back? Crucial. At the very least, get the full backs and striker sorted and we go again, stronger, sharper, and ready to take the league by storm.

With the right additions and the same fire we’ve shown this year, we will go all the way. We are back on top and we’re not done yet.

City and Arsenal will have something to say about that Salah mate. Not to mention the Utd’s and Chelsea’s etc. things went well for us this season long may it continue.

I find it really exciting that we’ve won the league and you can see so much obvious room for improvement. Imagine this team with a quality striker, better left back and more squad options off the bench.

12 May 2025 17:45:16
I agree Salah. I think we will win it again.
Just because Slot-Ball was there for everyone to see in that first half of the season, absolute domination.
The Legs went again in Jan/ Feb. I can only see Arne fixing that glaring problem anyway as it’s 2/ 3 season in a row now.
Blueprint is there now how to win the league, we’ve done it twice the same way, just win win win from the first game of the season until we are too far infront for a title race to emerge ?.

I must be in the minority then as I think Arsenal are a terrific team and Arteta seems to be a decent manager. Pep will spend big in the summer as well as Arsenal but it’s still very much ours to lose and I’m looking forward to seeing what additions Slot makes to the team and squad.

Whoever gets CL out of Newcastle, Chelsea, Villa, Spurs and Utd will feel the pinch next season of having to go full strength twice a week against the best in Europe so for that they won’t be competing for any league title.

12 May 2025 18:10:04
Very well said, Salah.

12 May 2025 18:15:44
In other words, WE WILL WIN ???.

12 May 2025 18:20:07
We have to get the recruitment right and then we will have a great chance. John, are you having a giraffe, Utd do me a favour!

12 May 2025 18:20:23
I said it before Salah bud - you are one of a kind ?
Agree generally only worry is we reloed heavily on vvd and you being both amazing and injury free.
Hence why reinforcements are crucial.

Next season will be much harder.
New players need to settle in.
We are now “the team to beat”, we have a target on our backs.
Slot is more of a known quantity, his methods will be dissected by scouts and coaches.

I’m not saying we won’t do it, I’m not saying we can’t do it, but it will be a much more difficult thing to achieve.

Name me 1 manager who has won the premier league in both of his first 2 seasons.
Premier league has never been done, old football league is different.

Jose won it twice Ron. I've full faith in Slot. A decent left back and striker are paramount. The rest? Midfield, give Elliot and Endo more games against teams to spare Grav. Bradley will thrive. Gakpo will be the one to watch next season I think, he's on the brink of something special l.

12 May 2025 19:08:48
I always love your positivity, Salah. Though if I remember right, I'm sure you said we'd batter Arsenal yesterday!

12 May 2025 19:16:56
It won’t be easy but we should definitely be in with a shout given a decent transfer window etc.

12 May 2025 19:19:54
Scouse John, I hope you were hoping to jinx our rivals from down the road by throwing Man Utd’s hat into the ring of challengers?

12 May 2025 20:18:58
Cheers Dslatt,
I must have blanked the Special One out. ?
He did have an insurmountable financial advantage at the time.

Love the optimism Salah and I think we have good reasons to be optimistic. I do agree with other posters that it will be harder next year and the gap much smaller. Haaland will not have the same season and will be back to scoring 30 goals, Foden will be better ( he better be for his sake if he doesn’t want to be playing at Spurs) but City have work to do in their midfield and that will take some time to embed. Arsenal will be a problem if they get a world class CF who settles fast, I’d be worried in Watkins, Jonathan David or Isak joined them. Villa will continue to improve under Emery and a couple of signings for them could make them dark horses in a title race. However, none of them have a squad as strong as ours and if we invest right, I think we should go into the season thinking that we’ll win it. Honesty can’t wait to see Slot’s impact in terms of the players he brings in. Exciting times.

{Ed001's Note - I noticed Foden has obviously been knuckling down and training hard as he looks a lot fitter than he has for a while now. This season he was looking overweight and struggling for most of it.}

12 May 2025 20:45:27
Ed001 in fairness to Foden he’s got about 15 kids so fatherhood must be taking its toll.

{Ed001's Note - good point, he might just be losing weight due to running around after them, rather than training hard.}

@JK23, a thousand years ago (well the early 1980’s) I had a boss who was pretty clued up. We were talking about someone who worked with us who had just stuffed up and I said that it was just bad luck and my boss (who’d worked with the guy for 2 or 3 years) said that nobody is unlucky all the time. In a way Arsenal remind me of that - in the past 4 or 5 seasons they have always looked like they are on the verge of winning something but they never quite actually manage to do it and there is generally bad luck involved.

In a way the players actually deserve to win something and in Saliba (although his progress seems to have slowed down), Rice and Saka they have three players that I’d love to see play for us and who have the talent and skills to be winners.

I get the feeling that with a different manager they’d kick on and actually win a major trophy or three but I think that Arsenal’s fanbase might see it differently as Arteta seems to be well liked.
