Re. Nunez; do you think it's a case of take whatever we can get, or stand our ground for the price we want and if nobody will pay it, he stays.
I think we've been here before with other players and they've ended up staying, possibly meaning that we don't add anybody in that position, never really delivering and then leaving for free.
Personally, I think I would accept that we're going to take a big loss on the fee we paid and get it done for the best offer we can get.
The "give him a season with Wirtz" argument doesn't convince me and actually is counter-logical. It's not like Nunez doesn't get chances and needs someone like Wirtz to create for him. The problem with Nunez is he misses a lot of chances, has a dreadful conversion rate and a sky high "missed big chances" count. If having Wirtz in the team means that Nunez gets even more chances created, then my assumption would be that he'll just miss more.

I think they're waiting for Nunez to start panicking. With him reportedly rejecting Saudi because he wants to stay in Europe, if no one in Europe matches our price, he's then got a huge decision to make.
Feels a bit like a game of cat and mouse.

Mo played 3 times more football than Darwin so didn't do too bad plus scored and assisted for fun
Jota scored more in less games
Diaz played twice as much and outscored him
Gakpo 800 more minutes and outscored him

The only scenario in which I think Nunez stays is if Diaz goes and we don't manage to bring in a top class striker. Other than that, whilst I don't mind him, I can't see him staying.

We are strong negotiators when selling players - see recent deals. You don’t do cheap deals when your reputation is strong. That way more cheap deals lie and you’d all be complaining about how poor we are at negotiating.

@langland, this is why statistics can be so misleading.
You need to take into account the amount of minutes he played compared to the others and also the shocking ease of some of his missed chances.
He misses chances that Sunday league players would miss. Remember that game where he rounded the keeper, glaring open goal and he hit the post. Every single one of our forwards buries that apart from nunez.

In his defence, Nunez got the wrong sort of chances. He had too much time to think about kicking or nutting the ball into the net. The team was getting it wrong not Captain Chaos.
If we break quickly, creating a chance for Nunez without the time for him to balls it up should be paramount. Maybe even kick the ball off him and into the net.
We also pass him the ball when the linesmen are looking and have to play with referees that are more likely to book him than make a note of goal he scored.
There is a player in there but the game needs to change for us to see it.
